Thanks for sharing, always good to learn classic recipes like this one. You do a great job of giving the tutorial as well. Also a spot of British humour at the beginning didn't hurt either.
i'm so happy to find this recipe a few years ago. I remember when i was a child, and my mother made us an ox tail creme from maggi... and 15 or 20 years ago, the brand closed the product line and i coudn't find a recibe that could match that rich taste. I followed the steps of this one, and it was SO awesome!! just like the maggi one, but MUCH better!!!! i can only say, thanks, a lot, really! and many grettings from Santiago de Chile =) (y)
In case you ever come to the Netherlands, " English oxtail soup" is for sale in every supermarket in the Netherlands from the brand Honig. And other brands in cans or bags.

@TitliNihaan Thank you for finding the time to respond but as it turned out there are turnips available at every grossery store in Athens but they go by a different name so i didn't know that they actually were turnips even though they were around me the whole time. Thanks for the tip though. I am continuously amazed by your recipies. I made the lamb korma. Fantastic!!!
Greetings from Greece. I love all your recipies, especially this one. I have to make this soup NOW!!! The problem is that the chances of me finding a turnip in Athens are slim. Can you recommend a substitute for turnip? I would really love an answer soon. Also, since I see that you're no stranger to soups made of... unusual parts of an animal, I would be happy to give you my version of the traditional, greek "sheep tongue soup". The most deliciously disgusting dish ever. You will love it!
Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool soup, my sad sad student's stomach will be immensely thankful for such a thing, I'll certainly try it out if I manage to buy some oxtail :D
Whoa, a different kind of oxtail soup recipe 8D And the ingredients are almost the same with Indonesian oxtail soup! I'm gonna try it and see if people here like it :9
Hi Titli, thanks so much for this, I am hungry now!! Can you please advise if I could use a 'Pressure Cooker' instead of cooking on simmer for 3 HOURS!!!?? Please advise. Thanks. Awaiting your reply, as it is WINTER now in Australia.......
Thanks. I now live in SE Asia and things like oxtail soup, Christmas pudding, Branston and Asha lime or mango pickle, HP source and decent bread are non-existent so make and bake our own. Others like digestive biscuits, Chelsea buns, scones, kimchi, marmalade we make our own. I shall let you know the result of your recipe when have cooked your oxtail soup. Thanks again.
Thanks "Hidden Butterfly" for your prompt reply. Yes, I thought you did not mention pressure cooker, 'cos everyone does not own one. Thanks again, and keep up the good work! I will be trying this soup coming weekend. God Bless.
Hi Titli, I did try this awesome recipe! It was a great HIT! Now I feel like making it every week-end during winter...... it was so easy, especially using a pressure cooker. Thanks a lot.
We do tend to eat a lot of meat including Beef. Where I live in Florida the price of the Ox Tails has gone up incredibly because of the love of them by people from the Islands.
By accident I discovered a veg soup recipe that is almost exactly the same flavour and texture. I call it moxtail soup. But you can't beat the original. The method for moxtail is similar to this recipe except that you add 1 table spoon of marmite and 1/4 of a cabbage. Once blended the cabbage adds the ox texture and the marmite approximates the flavour in combination with the beef stock and tomato pure.
A good way to avoid the expense of Ox Tails in the United States. Use Beef Necks and add a couple of pieces of Marrow Bones. When you pull the pieces of meat out make sure the Marrow falls out and stays in the pot.
I've had oxtail a few times in Spain, but I don't think I'll find it here in any supermarket lol. Most people would probably look at it in disgust here in Finland like it's a... I'm not even gonna say what I was thinking of saying...
Hi Titli, many thanks for another great video and another fantastic soup recipe :) My kids love your videos, my daughter especially liked the brain curry recipe lol :) Anyway, I made this oxtail soup yesterday and it was a hit! There was one change to the recipe however, completely accidentally. I bought a parsnip instead of a turnip (Baldrick was mortified!) - However, the soup turned out beautiful. I will definitely make this again, and to keep Baldrick happy will get a Turnip!
I like oxtail soup, in my country this soup called "sop buntut". Of course its not anything like the british oxtail soup. The difference are use of potato instead of turnip, no flour (its clear soup), add of nutmeg & lime juice to seasoning no bayleaf and thymes, the other are the same. And we don't do the smoothing method.
Thanks for sharing, always good to learn classic recipes like this one. You do a great job of giving the tutorial as well. Also a spot of British humour at the beginning didn't hurt either.
I’ve not had oxtail soup for over 50 years. I still remember how good it was and that was tinned. Yours must be infinitely better.

Another winner from Titli, but I can't believe you threw away the bones and cartilage! My kids and I love nibbling on those!
Jebby Ragavan Pressure cooker is fine. I rarely do dishes in a pressure cooker in my videos because not everyone has one.
What if we don't have the 'whizzy toy' that you used to blend up the soup? Can we leave it as it is, or will it affect the flavor?
Derp Otaku Yes of course! But it wouldn't be traditional. Oxtail is traditionally smooth, with no evidence of vegetables ;-)
use a blender.
Wish you'd come back Titli 🥰
do we have to use ox tail
HAHAHAH so glad to see you on my screen again!

Great humour. 😀
Looks good! I think it was a Fawlty Towers reference...
pro tip: squeeze a few drops of lime juice onto each spoon of soup before you put into your salivating mouth. results are AMAZING

@TitliNihaan yes but in my opinion it would be much better if you wouldnt wizz everything. there be more to bite on and much more texture and colour
You are now my official soups lady :3
Hi Titli, many thanks for another great video and another fantastic soup recipe :) My kids love your videos, my daughter especially liked the brain curry recipe lol :) Anyway, I made this oxtail soup yesterday and it was a hit! This soup looks so delicious that I almost ate my computer screen.
What else would you like to use for oxtail soup?
Awesome mmmm I m gonna try your so lovely n sweet
@alexxx1836 Tail of a bull or cow. Your local butcher might do them if you ask.
This made me laugh! I can’t wait to try it
Awesome soup. I added a few cloves of garlic and some winein the initial stages.
I like oxtail soup, in my country this soup called "sop buntut". Of course its not anything like the british oxtail soup. Cooking with bare hands - how dare she ? Love it.
You can actually use shin of beef instead of oxtail. It tastes very similar.
Cheers, for the Monty Python reference. Well done! All these recipes look great, can't wait to try them. Thanks Titli!
I thought you guys were big beef eaters. What happens to the tails normally?
Get on with the video and enjoy it looks good
English cuisine is very humorous.
