YEEESS!! Finally i found a mom in med school. I'm a first year med student (almost done) and a mom to a 3 year old :) everybody tells me i shouldn't be studying medicine just because I'm a mom? lol ok. It's like 3 times harder but kids copy what you DO not what you SAY, i want to be able to say "yes i had my son when i was 16 years old but that didnt stop me from having dreams and reaching goals at the same time I'm being the best mom i can be for my kid" actually he is my motivation everyday and there's nothing better than hearing his sweet little voice going "mommy doing homework? can i do homework too? i love you mommy" he sits next to me and just cuts my old notes or just plays with my pens and stuff.. best feeling ever. I know the message i'm passing on to him is that education is important, having dreams and goals is important and you CAN do everything you want if you really want it.
maudena pelk I live in panama. In panama we don't have the pre med years, mcat or any of those tests, just a 3 month long intensive course then a test and thats it, you're in. I'll start my 3rd semester on june.
Okay wow, if you can get through the demands of a residency then I can certainly finish studying for my exam today harbouring a mere food baby. Love your videos and congratulations!
London's Journal this gives me so much hope, my boyfriend who I plan on having children with wants to have kids soon and so do I. Hopefully we can handle it.
It's so awesome that your husband will be in a position to be able to take care of your child! Congratulations again and I wish you the best, I know it must be tough and scary, but i believe you will be an amazing mum and doctor, Ive been a subscriber for a while now and I get really good vibes from you through your videos! God Bless you and your growing family!
Have you chosen your specialty? (or leaning towards one) when you're in residency, can you do a "debunking" of Grey's Anatomy? maybe compare and contrast even.. seems like a cool idea!
You go woman! To everyone who says "oh hormones mess with a woman's career, clear thinking, etc", clearly you are one of the several strong women who call out on this b.s.Thank you for being you!
It's not just an Asian custom. Most people consider it bad luck to reveal pregnancies too early due to the risk is miscarriage. Lots of luck with your baby, don't be reluctant to ask for help- it can get mad!
Congratulations again!! It's so great that you're being such a positive role model for all the girls out there (including myself) who are worried that going into medicine will limit their opportunities of starting a family
thank you for posting this I just found out I am pregnant....my husband and I are super excited but I will be in my second semester of nursing school........im a bit nervous about that but I will have a great support system behind me......you can accomplish your dreams!
You are such an inspiration to me. I'm 19 and i'm in my 2nd year of med school in Portugal, and i've been following you for a while. You'll be a great mom, i'm sure
Don't be scared of c-sections. I've had 2, and the recovery was literally nothing the first time (just needed Advil for a few days) and about 5 days of Advil the second time. My sister had a vaginal delivery and had a much worse recovery than I did. Not all c-sections are bad recoveries, so don't worry if you need one.
HappyHandyLife lol seriously? U can't say serious abdominal surgery is nothing it's definitely worst than vaginal delivery and natural and less medical intervention = easier recovery
I can only speak to my own experience, which was 2 c-sections with very easy recoveries. Not every c-section is a bad recovery. My sister had a terrible recovery from a vaginal delivery so those aren't always a great recovery either. Either way you are going to have some healing to do, but I just didn't want her to be terrified that a c-section necessarily means a tough recovery. For me it didn't either time, and several of my friends had similar experiences.
@@happyhandylife4101 everyone's experience is different so you cannot expect everyone to have the same experienxe as you! How one chooses to give birth is very personal! Does not mean you had an awesome C section does not mean it will be the same for everyone
Great video :) i was wondering if you could talk about any doubts or questioning you might of had about going to med school during your premed years. I know that it is a common feeling to have doubts or being anxious about pursuing med school, but i was wondering about your personal experiences with being unsure or anxious about your future and what advice you would offer others dealing with pre med anxiety. Thanks:)
To attend medical school you are sacrificing many things. You spend your prime years studying and unable to hang out with friends, you are burdened financially, and most of us put off starting a family. This can cause anyone to become anxious about dedicating their life to medicine but I believe that it is also for these reasons you should know for sure you want to attend medical school before pursing it. I always say - get as much exposure as you can. Volunteer at a hospital or clinic. Shadow a doctor. Find a mentor. These things will give you a better understanding if medicine is really the right path for you. Good luck!
Congratulations, Jenny!!! So happy for you! I completely understand where you're coming from when it comes to balancing school and pregnancy. I'm a recent pharmacy school graduate and mother of a beautiful 5 month old. My husband and I decided to conceive our son during my final year of school since I was on rotations and figured that there was no better time. It's so wonderful to see and hear your progression from medical school to married life to motherhood. I've been a subscriber for some time now and I look forward to seeing your wonderful transition = ) Best of luck!!
There's so much LOL! But seriously I would say just try your best to not beat yourself up if certain things don't necessarily work out the way you had originally planned aka don't be so hard on yourself, give your body as much time as possible to recover, remember that "FED is best" for little one and do your best to enjoy all the milestones and changes your little angel will be going through. Take joy in your blessing and blissful journey into and through mommyhood❤️ One more thing, if you're not already receiving this everyone, mothers or not, will provide unsolicited advice, try your best to take it all in stride and know that your decision is the ultimate and most important one. 😊best wishes with everything! Also, do your best to make time for YOURSELF! Happy mommy = happy baby. If that means taking an extended shower, reading a good book, or working out, go ahead and do it (whenever you can fit it in of course). I still struggle with all these things I mentioned especially the last point LOL
i love your videos so much. You are an incredible inspiration to me - seeing you work so hard and juggling so many things at once pushes me to work even harder. I'm pre med and currently applying for some research positions which is exciting but incredibly stressful! sometimes it gets to the point where i just procrastinate for the whole day which stresses me out even more. But then i watch your videos and see you working so hard and then i become instantly motivated! Keep creating awesome content :) love you!
I am a freshman in college currently in a steady relationship. Me and my SO are trying to figure out a good time to start a family because I am pursuing med school. We are looking at once I graduate undergrad or my senior year undergrad. Do you think it's possible to manage a baby coming into med school?
I am a clinical dietitian and, if it helps at all, I had my son 5 weeks before I started my dietetic internship and grad school. It really just comes down to planning/time management and having a good support person/supporting spouse- you can do it mama! I think the sweets craving is just a boy thing, with my son I CRAVED sweets sooooo bad, but with my daughter I craved salads, vegetables, and savory everything.
I crave Asian foods all the time too 😍 Asian foods are the best! By the way do you mind sharing your skincare and makeup tutorial for medical students? Sometimes i feel my makeup is not as good as i prefer but we all know during medical school sleep is a luxury so i pretty much only give myself 10-15 minutes to look decent (not look like i don't get enough sleep) everyday.
+Jenny Le thank you! Mine is mostly 10-15 minutes to do makeup in the car (on the way to hospital) 😂 so of course no eyeliner; it will be disastrous. Hope your pregnancy goes well, you definitely have the pregnancy glow! Your complexion looks so nice and glowing.
In my nursing program, the professors encouraged us to wait as long as possible to get an epidural if we're going to get one. The epidural numbs the area which makes it harder for the mother to feel how to push, ultimately prolonging labor. They told us there was a correlation between epidural use and prolonged labor. What are your thoughts on this? Is it true?
+comingalong slowly Yes this is true, you want to be in active labor before getting the epidural. At the same time, there does come a point where the patient is too far along and would not be able to get the epidural.
One of my biggest fears with deciding to got Med school was not being able to live out my life. Thank you for showing me that it is possible and for sharing it with us!
This is a great video! Being a woman and planning a family while being in medicine seems the hardest thing to juggle next to the actual school work! I'm starting med school in the fall and I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos and learn from your experiences
Happy for you!! Good luck, girlie! Your trouble sleeping is me every night lol. I'm not pregnant, but I always have trouble falling asleep but I hope it resolves quickly for you. You need sleep, momma.
Jenny Le I try too! I just think about all the things I studying, my plans for the week or anything that's been going on. My thoughts dont stop, idk how to just think of nothing. I have a hard time relaxing. lol Some nights I fall asleep alright but most nights, it takes over an two hours for me to fall asleep.
Stan's head omg that made me laugh. You're going to be amazing Jenny!!! Thanks for taking us along with your journey, it makes the future less anxious with your wisdom :)
I love your videos so much! I'll be studying pre-med in the Fall and every time I watch your "pre-med advice" videos I feel confident. You'll be a great momma ! Best of luck with everything xo
You sound just like me. I had 3 kids and I waited getting the epidural until I absolutely needed it. With my third child, I got it WAY too late and had her before it kicked in so I felt EVERYTHING! Ah! But I'm still alive. Haha! It's scary and you feel like you're gonna break every bone in your body, eeeesh, but it really is worth it. You'll understand that feeling soon, but hopefully your epidural kicks in in time. I got to have all three babies "naturally." I felt too blessed. Congrats!
Cyclic bleeding may occur upto 12 weeks of pregnancy until the decidual space is obliterated by the fusion of decidua vera with decidua capsularis. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Take care of yourself :)
Ahhh!!!!! I knew it! You were literally glowing in your GRWM from I think a few videos back but omg omg congratulations! You're like superwoman lol I have faith in you 😊
Congratulations again on the wonderful news 🎉🎉🎉 Also, you had me laughing so much when you said "he has such a big head 🙈" lol looking forward to following you along this journey. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Hey! I actually came across your channel because I spoke to a friend of yours on a forum and asked her questions about being a mom in med school and she said you could help! I’m now obsessed w your videos! The thing about me is, I didn’t have a support system out of high school (I was a teen mom) so I didn’t think I could make it through med school. I’ve spent years since trying to figure out where I fit and it always comes back to wanting to be a physician. I’m 29 and just now going back to school. I have three kids, currently pregnant and I know we want another one in a few years as well. Do you think there’s too many things against me to make it through med school especially given my age? I just can’t think of anything else that I would rather be! Also, in hindsight, when is the best time to have a baby during school? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! 😊
Congratulations first of all!!! A lovely video as always :) Could you do a video how you study and how you breakdown studying for big exams like a in depth video. Thanks so much. ❤
I’m in my 2nd trimester, I’m going into nursing school. My husband works from home n occasionally goes to the office so my brothers n mother live 10min away so they can babysit. We have a lot of hosp work placements 3 in each year here in the UK. I’m hoping to study from home during maternity n when I go back to uni instead of 4 days I’m gna try to opt for 2 days attendance. It was never a right time for me b4 I was working 6 days a week then was at uni ft to finish my bsc. During the second year of Nursing I’m hoping to add on my Msc. So I decided during this summer break why not get preg I’m getting old I don’t want to delay it forever until I need ivf. Some ppl have it 15-18, I’m massive looked like 5m at 5 weeks. Morning sickness is mad, swollen feet n back pain is a killer on top of that sleepless nights giving me lack of energy. I do eat healthy n take all my supplement.
+Jessica Monterroza I definitely want him to have social interactions with other kids - preferably somewhere that's more than just a daycare. Like a baby school? Lol I just want his brain to constantly be stimulated
Hi! I’m also a first year osteopathic medical student. I have no kids yet, but I would like to start a family soon. I was curious, how do moms in medical school afford having a baby during school? My boyfriend is also in medical training. Thank you! ❤️
Congratulations ! I was just wondering how did your energy levels/lowered attention spam affect your studying ? Just curious in case one day mine couldn't be as ideally planned !
+FleurDeSel I was just really tired and found myself sleeping early and waking up a little later in the mornings. I honestly didn't even know I was pregnant in the beginning because what medical student isn't tired?
I'm 14 and I can't decide whether I should be a PA or an orthopedic surgeon. I get decent grades some A's and mostly B's. I wanna be a surgeon so I can say that I am a surgeon and I like helping people , but it's such a commitment especially if you fail out of medical school and you get stuck in debt, but being a PA also pays well and only requires 2 years of training.
Harambe those goals at 14 are amazing but I would wait until you're a junior in high school or even a senior. interests change..even in college people (including myself) change majors all the time.
Ur not even in high school yet lol chill high school changes everyone I had ideas like that I ended up dropping out beginning of sophomore year and getting my ged and going into nursing 😂😂
I laughed so hard when you said your partner is 6’4 with a big head and you’re 5’4 haha I have the same problem and fear 😂 I just finished my first semester of med school so I’m looking for all the advice I can get! Thank you!
Congratulations on med school!! There’s really no right time to start a family. And we amaze ourself most of the time to see how much our bodies can go through.
I went to the ER for appendicitis, found out i'm 3 months pregnant! I had a "fake period" and two negative tests early on, so I had noooo idea.. I thought I had diabetes because i was so hungry, thirsty and peeing all the time. lol. Unfortunately I'm due before my internship ends :(
Hi Jenny, I'm super sorry if this question is overly personal but at what age did you start medical school and at what age did you finish your first ms1 year? Im going through a hard time because I thought I was going to be able to apply this ccle after taking a gap year but now I have to wait again until next cycle and I'm just really bummed out because I can't help but compare myself to my other female friends who are already starting medical school 😔 Thank you and love your vids and your cute baby!!!
omg! thats so awesome happy for you girly! :) I want to wait until i'm done with med school to have babies but I will be 30 :// So idk when the best time to start a family will be. My hubby would be able to stay with the baby bc he can work from home and so would my mom but idk how i could juggle residency/med school with being preggo or having a baby >
+Piinkstar17 There will never be a good time. Because after residency you will be expected to work - hard to take time off when you start a new job. Life doesn't stop just because you start med school so just enjoy the journey! You'll be surprised to see what you are capable of 🤓
+Alyssa Christine Audition Rotation are like Sub-I's (sub-internships). You do these early in your fourth year at the hospitals/programs you wish to do residency at - this allows the residency programs to get to know you and possibly gives you an advantage while applying. Congrats on getting into med school!
i knew you were pregnant lol i even wrote a comment asking then deleted real quick cuz i thought it would be akward/rude if you weren't....you were really getting out of breath in your videos quick and face was looking fuller so hey I'm a psychic too lol heheh congrats
Hello! Thank you for your inspiring videos!!! I am a first year medical students studying in Russia. I want to study medicine in the US. Do I have to go through pre-med training?
congratulations ♡ hope your child will come safe and have a lot of luck in this world , in my culture they say craving sweets means you are having a girl :p

Wow, you are such an inspiration, I wish u and your baby the best of luck
About to start PA school, just found out I was pregnant... and completely freaked out. I have a wonderful supportive husband but I am still scared...😢
It’s normal to feel a little scared. You will be fine. Sounds like you have great supportive people around you.
Congratulations first of all!!!
A lovely video as always :)
Could you do a video how you study and how you breakdown studying for big exams like a in depth video. Thanks so much. ❤
Congratulations Jenny!! You're amazing!
Congratulations and all the best!!! God bless you and your family.
you're gorgeous! love this. inspiration to me omg. instant subscriber
Congrats to you and Stan on your new little bundle. If you don't mind me asking what month did you conceive?
+Sidneyjade Urra August!
I know it might be a little hard, but I'm hoping for the best for you! Congratulations on your baby💕

+Kim B Thank you and you too! 😁
Awwww!! . . . I'm so happy for you!!! Ur going to be such a great mommy!!
So glad I found your channel! Congratulations babe! ❤😘
Some hospitals have daycare ranging from 3months-5 years for hospital employees, is that something you're willing to do when Wyatt is older?👶🏻
+Jessica Monterroza I definitely want him to have social interactions with other kids - preferably somewhere that's more than just a daycare. Like a baby school? Lol I just want his brain to constantly be stimulated
Congratulations to you, your husband and family!!!!
you are truly something else
So happy for youuuuu! :)
+James Kim Thank you 🤓
Hi! I’m also a first year osteopathic medical student. I have no kids yet, but I would like to start a family soon. I was curious, how do moms in medical school afford having a baby during school? My boyfriend is also in medical training. Thank you! ❤️
I personally took out school loans for everything!
So happy for you!! ❤
Congrats!!!! you're such an inspiration
+gp5719 TYSM 🤓
Jenny will you be getting paid maternity leave?
+Rifah Khan No as a medical student you don't get paid ... I'm actually still paying tuition lol
So happy for you and your family ❤️️❤️️
jenny i love u so much u are one of my fav youtuber keep doing what your doing !!!
+sebrina321 Awwww Thank you! You're so sweet 😍
Hahaha true ! Thanks for taking the time
I'm 14 and I can't decide whether I should be a PA or an orthopedic surgeon.
Sandra agreed
You go Harambe .!
Ur not even in high school yet lol chill high school changes everyone I had ideas like that I ended up dropping out beginning of sophomore year and getting my ged and going into nursing 😂😂
I changed my mind. I'm leaning towards PA more, or engineering. Although I'm not especially good at math, I'm really good with graphs.
Congratulations on your baby!!! Now when you say you were bleeding, this is spotting albeit heavily not the actual regular period ?
+MorrocanZween TMI but my periods were pretty light so I would describe it as a light period. To quantify, I would bleed about a pad a day.
Thanks for your reply. I love how open and genuine you are =)
I went to the ER for appendicitis, found out i'm 3 months pregnant!
Im going through a hard time because I thought I was going to be able to apply this ccle after taking a gap year but now I have to wait again until next cycle and I'm just really bummed out because I can't help but compare myself to my other female friends who are already starting medical school 😔
Thank you and love your vids and your cute baby!!!
+87cakeface I was 24 and finished first year at 25. There are people much older than I was starting medical school.
You're glowing.. such a beautiful momma💕
Aww, you're going to make the cutest mom!! Congratulations!!! :)
omg! thats so awesome happy for you girly!
You'll be surprised to see what you are capable of 🤓
awh thank you so much!!
Can I ask what an audition rotation is? I'm going into med school this fall but I have never heard of that!
+Alyssa Christine Audition Rotation are like Sub-I's (sub-internships). You do these early in your fourth year at the hospitals/programs you wish to do residency at - this allows the residency programs to get to know you and possibly gives you an advantage while applying. Congrats on getting into med school!
Your hair is so beautiful❤
What medical school do you go to? Also loved this video and it gives me a lot of hope!
I'm sooooo happy for you 🎉🎉🎉🍼
i knew you were pregnant lol i even wrote a comment asking then deleted real quick cuz i thought it would be akward/rude if you weren't....you were really getting out of breath in your videos quick and face was looking fuller so hey I'm a psychic too lol heheh congrats
+Lola Hone LOL yes!! I did notice that I was getting out of breath so easily! I've ramped up my cardio so that has helped a little bit.
"If i wanna punch somebody...." Oh my God that just made my day!
love all your video u r such a big inspiration for me
Hello! Thank you for your inspiring videos!!! I am a first year medical students studying in Russia. I want to study medicine in the US. Do I have to go through pre-med training?
+Anudari Otgonbayar I believe that as an IMG, if you want to obtain residency in the US, you would take the necessary board scores and then apply.
Thank you!
Congratulations ❤
Omg!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!
It is very hard when someone is in medical school but please give me advice
What med school do you go to ?
Congrats Jenny! Is Stan a med student too?
+luvgirlism No, Stan is in real estate.
