T-Roy!!! How are you my man??? So glad you are happy over there brother but we miss you here. Hopefully you and the Mrs. are doing well. She still making those "jugs"? lol
I’ve had my 1600 for 8 months now and I absolutely love it! I usually keep the top shelf off and hanging on the rear hook until I need it. Make sure you raise the rain cap about an inch when cooking for good air flow.
Hey there Alton, I see you got a new toy for your collection and it looks very nice. Wish I could sample your first cook on it but it's okay I'm just glad you shared the video of displaying it. Thanks and take care 🙏🏾
Hey bro it's been a minute.....nice looking pit I know you definitely gonna throw down some awesome 👌 cooks ...can't wait. Oh...and by the way the editing is spot on like the close ups 👍💯. Thanks for sharing and y'all have a great week. Cheers!🍻
Thank you my brotha! Got a new camera I've been playing around with and this makes some of those shots way easier. I'm glad it came out OK for the first time making a video with it. Thank you man for always supporting us. How have you been? I need to get over and see what you've been cooking man.
I bought the same one and I really like it. Im in Alaska so it eats some pellets and she has some hot spots, but once you learn the smoker it works really well.
Man if it works well in Alaska, it's got to perform well in TX. Good to know. What is your favorite thing to cook on it? Also if you could improve the grill in any way, what would you have improved?
@@TheDawgfathasBBQ my only complaints are that uneven heat distribution (that’s a big zone to heat with one centralized burn pot) and I have the older style diamond grates that are difficult to clean.
Kent!!! Wzup my man? Thanks for always dropping by to check on us bro. I really appreciate it man. Doing well over here. Really trying to get back into the swing of things this year. Barring any setbacks maybe consistency will visit us. lol
What I absolutely LOVE about pretty much every burn-in video for any kind of smoker is that people don't take the grills inside and actually WASH them before running the process. They will try to reason with you something like "But the burn-in process removes all of the nasties from the manufacturing process." Oh HELL NO!! If my food is gonna touch it, it's gonna be CLEAN before the burn-in.
Thanks Johnny! I was thinking about that as well. Gotta love the sear zone for sure! And keep cranking out that stellar content bro. No one does better reviews and how to's on the platform brother!
Cooking? What's that??? lol Hang in there. Some cooks will soon follow. Be sure to follow the Pit Boss channel as well. We'll be posting content over there as well.
I have this same smoker. Bought it a couple years back. I noticed that your panel is different from mine. Is that a new panel and is the temperature in 5 degree increments?
So yes the intervals are in 5's on this unit. This is my first Pit Boss pellet cooker so I don't have anything to compare it to as for previous models. How do you like yours after owning it for a while?
@@TheDawgfathasBBQ man I love it!!!! Bought it during the pandemic and have smoked briskets, ribs, pork butts, turkeys, etc!!!! Also did some smash burgers with the griddle! All in all this thing is a tank and gives me no problems! My only small con is my temperature panel does not do the 5 degree increments but does it 10 degree increments. I might need to look into updating the panel.
Hey Alton - been a bit. Hope you're doing fantastic. I can hear what sounds like a lantern noise. Gr8t looking grill. Funny how men complain about women and their shoes - BBQ guys and their grills/smokers. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing, eh :))
BBQ guys and their cookers? I have no Earthly idea of what you speak of here. lol I would stop adding grills but I aint no quitter!!! lol How have you been? And thank you for dropping by.
Scared? Why? You do understand that temps on pellet grills aren't an actual temp but rather an average over a duration of time. All pellet grills tend to overshoot the target temp and settle back to them. That's exactly how I run my offset cooker too by the way. And also, maybe you missed that nugget but I didn't assemble it. It came assembled!!! SHOCKED me too!!! lol
perhaps scared was a little to dramatic. worried is better. i understand what you're saying . and, i have no experience with pellet grills so, i am just curious about them. thanks for the info@@TheDawgfathasBBQ
Congrats on the new smoker Alton!!! New toys are always fun!!! Cheers brother!!!!

Hey Alton. Already assembled!! Now that is a treat! How about searing something over that sear zone first... Take care!
ALTON , good to see you put up something. First cook, help it simple. Chicken or ribs. Looking forward to seeing your next video. 😊

Nice. Why not the 1600 elite that has the VST feature. Cant wait to see what you cook.
Welcome back man, it's been quite the while
Is this the elite version? I'm looking to buy one but was keeping it under 1000
Is the griddle included when u buy the pit boss 1600?
It did indeed come with the grill when I got mine.
10 minutes and no cook? Come on! :)

Brisket for 1st cook 🎉
Maybe... We shall see. What do you cook your brisket on?
@@TheDawgfathasBBQ I have a pit boss, but was looking to upgrade
Love my pitboss 850
You don’t have to take the Handle off to remove the deflector plate . That rod will move out of the way
How about some country style ribs for the first cook?
That sounds pretty interesting. Haven't made those in a while.
@@TheDawgfathasBBQ according to Federico, you live near me. Maybe I’ll be able to smell them cooking.
Got the 1600 pro elite yesterday on clearance $559 lowes
