Watching Sarah's facial expression is truly amazing to see her fully involved and being as One with her Steel guitar... BRAVO Sarah you truly are the BEST...🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
If you have ever had the opportunity to meet her you will know that she is a very down-to-earth person. I met her at the ISGA Convention in St. Louis. She always had her band in those days and it was a very expensive proposition to travel with them from London. I saw her again at the TSGA in Dallas 3 years ago without her band.
If you followed her early on you will know that she came to the ISGA at a very young age. Buddy Emmons was so impressed with her talent he chose to share his time on stage with her. She took the song "Mansion of a Hill" from him, even with the use of an Ebow .
Tonight is my first time hearing or seeing this lady, but it will not be the last. I love steel guitar music, and she takes it to a level which I have never known of anyone touching. She has a new fan for sure.
I haven't paid much attention to popular music since my kids all grew up, but I am amazed that we missed her on this side of the pond. We first got access to "broad band" a couple years ago and I decided to try to learn a little about pedal steel, something I've always enjoyed in records but never saw in person. It led me to Sarah's You tube videos, and I think I've watched them all now.
she has been around a long time and gets better over time she played in the north east of scotland 14 years ago and the full house gave her a standing ovation
I missed out on her for a number of years. The first time I heard her I couldn't believe the absolute love and feeling she has for music. I try to imagine singing with her and a full band such as the Electric Flag. My hair stands on end! This woman is AWESOME!!!!
Sarah will be in St. Louis for the annual "Labor Day" International Steel Guitar Association convention. It's a musical extravaganza more that a stuffy convention.
Oh that was so "unexpected" but totally smoking with the guitar coming in with distortion and then Sarah coming back with that E-bow - then back to the standard steel style - absolutely a killer arrangement~!
Oh please, don't compare' it's not a competition. Dave HarTley (and not god by the way) is a great bloke and player, Sarah is a lady and also a great player in entirely a different way, her feel and emotion is unique and special to her plus she pushes beyond old-country into exciting new territory live. Musicians are great people full stop.
I hear you friend (hopefully we are) I got sick of people dressed in fake cowboy gear saying- that was not how it went on the record, in a hurt way, expecting note-for-note versions of songs. We have some terrific players who are kicking their heels at home as the gigs have vanished, line-dance killed the C&W scene (could be a song there).Have followed up some leads and I agree you are some player, much respect and all the best.
Here's the story as told...A country song writer came to the Acuff Rose business and the owner Fred Rose told the man to come back the next day with a new song based on an outline he gave him. This man came back the next day with a song he called Mansion on The Hill. Of course the man was Hank Williams. Wesley Rose the son of Fred bought a 58 new hard top Ford when I sold cars. It was for his daughter. Years later I saw him in a store and I reminded him of the sale and or course he remembered. He said his daughter did not take care of the car. Rose Point on Old Hickory lake is being developed for private homes. They just started the third house.
Sarah uses a device called an Ebow. If you look closely, you can see her place it on the strings and keeps her hand close to it to adjust it when it conflicts with the bar. The device is battery powered and works by vibrating the string she chooses.
I think the guitar player was taken out and shot (by a country/ tele player) right after the gig, if not he should have been. That was like putting gravy on an apple pie LoL.
We all gig after long trips, also set up gear first, tongu-in-cheek comment was about the style and sound of solo not ability, and did not contain F* or SH* words as they have no place in any forum, hope you have great time with Sarah she is a rare talent (from my home town) good luck and please clean up the language buddy it is not clever or nice, you can obviously play so be open to opinions even if you don't agree, best to you.
OK, bro' we will draw the line on this with no ill feeling either side, sorry my little joke upset you, looking at the Nashville awards these days rock players seem to be the norm'. I turn up with a Kemper' now and no amp and you should see the looks I get, until they hear the sounds that come from it he-he' you want Fender? here it is, Boogie ? Peavey ? no sweat just turn the dial. Mind you the Bellamy's did have to shoot the long haired metal guy they brought to wembly LoL

How is Sarah playing just using the bar? Could someone please explain that to me? Thank you!
