Riding on Shinryu’s head clutching the crystal of Azem to summon our companions in order to battle the end of the universe while the Final Fantasy theme was swelling in the background was peak Final Fantasy.
You mean Zeno’s. That was him in a different form. Cause he can’t leave the WoL alone for a single second.
Riding atop and carrying our victories with us to the final battle, held aloft by the hopes of the friends we made along the way. Peak epic.

@@humanoidrkangel when you fight him in that form way back in stormblood it’s literally called Shinryu lol
I find it hilarious that Zenos is so dogged in his pursuit of fighting the WOL, that he even forces the Stormblood portion to the front of the line in this medley.
At least he has the courtesy to not put the section in the loop and waits his turn afterwards. 😂
To be fair, he's the WOL's best friend after all.
Zenos even called the Endsinger a "distraction" lmao

When I first heard this song was a medley of all the “final” bosses of each expansion, I nearly wept. Being with the game since 2.0 Beta, and doing this trial as a Black Mage, my fav job in the FF franchise, it was an intensely emotional experience no other bit of media had given me. As Eorzea's #1 Emet-Selch Fan, I hyped so hard when that tiny bit of Tomorrow and Tomorrow kicked in
The "Heart of Sabik" lyrics hit hard now with all the Porta Decumana queues during Moogle Treasure Trove. To date we have no idea who or what Sabik was and why his heart is so powerful
Sabik is a star in the constellation Ophiuchus, which is the constellation that corresponds to Elidibus. Given the name Elidibus had been connected to Zodiark since Tactics and, later, what we know about what XIV Elidibus is now, it's a way to connect Ultima to Zodiark beyond Lahabrea's insane rantings.
@finalsurvivor1 that's a pretty cool take!
@@finalsurvivor1 Had to look up lore because I feel the game does an awful injustice in explaining it. To add to what you said, Eldibus was Zodiark's heart. Sabik doesn't really matter if it's a constellation in the real world, but if we look it up;
- Sabik is located in the constellation Ophiuchus. Representing the healer Asclepius in Greek mythology, Ophiuchus is usually depicted holding a large snake, represented by Serpens constellation, and it divides Serpens into two parts: Serpens Caput (the serpent's head) and Serpens Cauda (the serpent's tail).
Which is even more vague. The idea that Heart of Sabik which enables the casting of Ultima is a constellation is... Well it's not good. BUT, what if the heart of Sabik is Eldibus and therefore Sabik is Zodiark. Then at least it makes a bit more sense.. Heard all kinds of mindjuggling about Ultima in the Ivalice raids being part of Sabik to the Endsinger's location being in the Ophiuchus constellation and so forth. But even this is just making the bare minimum "okay". Still, his mad ramblings about a sliver of his God's power, Ultima, being granted by Zodiark - Heart of Sabik - Eldibus. Yeah.
That's my two cents here. Klirrr~
@@Zeithri Fun additional detail: The brightest star of the constellation Serpens is classically named Unukalhai. In FF14, this is the name of Elidibus' apprentice, who aids the Scions against the Warring Triad during Heavensward's Trial series, and who later plays a role in the Void quests post-Shadowbringers. He's also a fellow refugee of the Thirteenth, meaning the game's present focus on the Void might end up referencing him.
TL;DR: Elidibus is associated with Serpentarius/Ophiuchus ("the serpent-bearer") in Tactics, and Unukalhai ("the serpent's neck") is part of Serpens ("the serpent"), which is the constellation being "carried" by Ophiuchus.
Apparently in Japanese the core powering the Ultima Weapon isn't "The Heart of Sabik", but "Black Auracite Sabik", the 2.0 translation team just decided to spice it up a bit I'm guessing.
Should've called it "The Larboard of Sabik"
I will still never get over the fact that you team up not only with your friends but 7 other warriors of light AND ZENOS to beat Meteion. Easily my favourite main story trial.
Genuinely had NO idea this and Zodiark had words, thank you for giving me this knowledge! I honestly thought it was just chanting that wasn’t actual words! You are amazing!
Zodiark's weren't official and the lyrics might as well have been gibberish...but this one is legit :) Though no lyrics on the latter part as they sound different from their originals (HW's Heroes and ShB's Invincible).
i love how most of the lyrics from this are from songs of other expansions, like shinryu's theme, ultima weapon theme, and some from the heavensward trailer. a moment where everything comes together.
@@hungrychad Didn’t the ochestral versions of Ultima, Heroes, The Wyrm’s Tail, From the Heavens, and Invincible have the lyrics?
@@Splatsuma it's the mix of every final boss each expansion... ARR ultima weapon, HW thordan, SB shinryu and ShB hades...
@@hungrychad that's why the lyrics cut off suddenly, you're saying?
Man what a journey. I went from summoning a little carbuncle to save the land from the Primals to end with me summoning those same Primals to save the world.
I do wish I'll get queued up with a Summoner when I get to this point. I just love the idea of siccing the Primals on the Endsinger.
I love how this theme incorporates the epic themes of all the previous expansions. During the fight, I was having a blast listening and naming them off.
This composition is absolutely amazing, the switching between the heroic melodies played by the brass and high strings, the upbeat tempo and then the switching to the more desperate sounding section to keep up the tension and give the feeling that despite our heroics this is a desperate fight on which the fate of the world depends. The buildup of tension, the contrast between the various themes, the instrumentation... such an amazing composition...
I started my ff14 journey at the tail end of 5.3. An archer who had no idea what the job had in store, who switched to tanking and healing through the other expansions… who watched everything from start to finish, whose friends walked them through the coils, through delving into the palace of the damned. Through it all… and yet… when endwalker started… I set forth to level Dancer, Machinist… and end it in Bard, to remember that young adventurer who stepped into gridania, who saw friends fall… a world on the brink… and never gave up. Ff14 was a hell of a run
Not over yet :)
This theme goes SO HARD and I'm so glad there are lyrics that go along with it now!! 🔥
Thanks so much for all of your hard work for this community; it's largely in thanks to you that I can sing along with my favorite songs. :)
Thank you and glad you like them! 😊
coming back here after a couple years, man I still don't know what trial could top this one.
visually, this place is so pretty. the edge of the universe all the way out in the stars provides such a beautiful background while fighting Endsinger.
Also, endsinger-chan (I can still fix her...).
third, of course the music. as soon as I heard the SB intro for the first time, I bawled like hell. The sheer emotion of a 10-year journey through all the expansions, and the way the OST brought the themes of each expansion together had me emotional all the way through the trial.
Listening to this song for the so manyeth time, I somehow find myself struck by intense grief. This is the song that marks the end of our long, long journey. The end of the Zodiark x Hydaelyn arc. The end of the inconceivable, yet ultimately failed quest of the Unsundered to restore what was their paradise.
The end to a journey we can never live for the first time again.
Yet every end marks a new beginning...
The ultimate showdown! Ultima, Thordan, Shinryu, Hades, they were all tests of Hydaelyn to prepare us for Her true opponent. It's fitting that while the Endsinger has no theme of her own, we hear the culmination of the previous bosses roar as we fight against the Final Days in open defiance.
because we are silencing the song of oblivion, or so to say: the very silence. we’re breaking her everlasting silence with the power of our past accomplishments and those who carried us together along the way
I like to think that the reason why they brought out the themes of the previous bosses is that it's a musical way for the scions to day "The Ultima Weapon, Thordan, Shinryu, Hades: What we did to them, we will do exactly to you, Endsinger."
Although this is just my interpretation of the lyrics past 2:20, the Shadowbringers section is slightly altered version of "Invincible," Hades' 2nd phase. The vocals were always supposed to be gibberish in-game; it was both a time-saving measure and is supposed to be what the Ancients singing to us would've sounded like. The specific section sung in "The Final Day" is most likely this:
"Now breath deep of the darkness beneath the Flood!
Where all of the proud angels drink to their deeds of blood!
Their lies, twisted and torn into dreams, they're spun!
Yet ever we still stand tall
Invincible
Never we fall!"
It tracks 1:1 with the "gibberish" version we hear in "The Final Days;" at least, to me it does.
P.S: The part immediately after the Shadowbringers section at 3:22, in my opinion, is a truncated version of "The Worm's Tail." Though it doesn't scan 100%, the last bit could be a combination of any of these lines:
"Ecce venio! (Behold, I am come)
Ego primus (I am the Beginning)
et novissimus! (And the End)
Ecce venio! (Behold, I am come)
Ego finis (I am the Last)
et principium! (And the First)"
This is probably to tie everything back to Zenos/Shinryu, whose theme kicks off the whole song.
This is pretty awesome!
I love the little trumpet that sneaks in at 0:41
I did not expect this to have actual lyrics.
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
always will be big fat tacos
There have always been lyrics to virtually all tracks involving them. The only exceptions are the ones with dravanian, which is straight-up fictional(but still has something comparable to a translation).

It's that little crystal on the chest of Ultima Weapon that allowed it to use the spell Ultima. Yeah, I have done that fight so many times from ARR that it's hard to forget, among other things lol

Emotional wild ride of a battle for me.
Did this as a Paladin the first go around and my party was nice enough to allow me to Main Tank.
Rallied the troops and we kicked ass!
Is it odd that when i listen to this i think less on the people i must protect, and think on all the people that had been my enemy?
Gaius wanted a better future and world for his children
Thordan died for the Ishgard he believed in
Yotsuyu, while clutching her brother's blood in her hand, last thought of Gosetsu as she died
Vauthry's Parents were seduced into evil by the promise of a power that would protect and Provide for their nation in the wake of a world that found itself on the brink of collapse
and who could Forget Emet-Selch, who toiled for thousands upon thousands of our life times to bring those that had lived and those who he had loved back to him. driven mad by the grief and suffering
Venat at the same time as Emet, had set into being 14 worlds all of them created to be mired and plagued by doubt and suffering in the hopes that it would harden the heart of her children for the trial awaiting them at the edge of the universe
The Edge of The Universe where Meteion resided, singing her song of oblivion to usher onto Etheirys a Merciful Death in the face of a Lifeless Universe where no Eternal Joy or Happiness could be found.
They all Lived believing in what they thought was right and each one of them had someone they loved, someone they wished to protect.
And i find blending their story with that of the Heroes of our Tale and reflecting on this Song of Hope, to paint a far more beautiful painting.
Hm, from 0:50 when the Sabik chant starts thats kind of identical how it sounds in the "Ultima (Scions and Sinners)" from the Weapons Theme (post SB, that 4 Ultima Weapon). This is just such an amazing culmination of all the story and fights we had over the course since ARR to EW.
I have a curious story about MY final day battle: I've been playing with a friend who gave me the base game + endwalker package since i got like 4k hours in the free trial, met a lot of nice people in the Novice Network since then and became a non-oficial mentor helping as much as i could lol, but sadly i've messed up and finished Shadowbringers without knowing that i would get kicked from NN doing that.... and since then she been re-playing with NG+ by my side to watch my reactions (yes, i'm THAT type of person that cheers, fight and curse while playing....very overreacting.), and when we got to the Final Day, it was past 4am so no one were queuing....so my friend called for help in the Novice Network, and we got instant Full Party, with a group formed by some of my friends + some of her friends....it was one of best moments i've EVER had in gaming, calling for help in my most important moment, and literally fighting with "the friends we made along the way".
This is Final Fantasy XIV my friends, and i'm blessed with stories like this one because of that amazing game - sorry about my bad engrish, second language \o/....

I’ve been having a soft challenge of finding every song in ffxiv 1.0 and onward that has the Ultima motif. I’ll get back to you guys with a more accurate count later.
But we have Ultima theme (porta decuma), ultima theme from uwu, ultima (sands), art of war (diamond weapon), I believe it’s present in a few garlean tracks, the final day. So my loose count is 7~9 appearances of Ultima
Given that we now know the heart of Sabik isn’t from Aetherys originally and that it makes people obsessive and not in a good way - and given this is the song that plays here I wonder if maybe the Metea came into contact with its maker somehow.
The music that plays during the trial isn’t really the Endsinger’s.
It’s ours.
A medley of the path we walk to reach this end.
Awesome paladin glam! :D
Thank you! 😊
I love how even though its a medley of previous final bosses the lyrics go hand in hand with the endsinger's encounter
The shinryu bit "E'er does the head devour its tail" probably references to the cycle as this is what the endsinger has been doing for milennia bringing ruin to civilizations "as iron bends to steel O'er my rivals i prevail" is self explanatory its you the main char preping for this final battle
The ultima weapon bit "Rise ultima" and "witness" as a few others that have mentioned in this comment section this could be a direct reference to the Ultima thule the farthest reaches of space where meteion made her nest.
The King thordan bit "Guide us O mighty fury" who else to ask for assistance than the goddess of war/strength and. "Dys an sohm " which is "Our slumber disturbed" her slumber disturbed by the horrific events across the cosmos, "Rohs An Kyn Ala na" which is "All my brothers wake." in this case sisters. "Mah Morn Na-ah-ah-ahr" which is "The saviors must perish" those who champion for life will perish, "Sahl Djahs Afah An" which is "Vengeance will be ours" her twisted sense of justice leads to her final decision to end all life
The Hades bit (which is not here but has official lyrics the OST is called invincible) "These memories ache with the weight of fate" this could be refering to both Metion and the WoL her memories of the horror of all other civilisations and to the WoL the memories they witnessed in elpis and that of venat's sundering. "Now breathe deep of the darkness beneath the flood" could directly refer the ultima thule and the huge sphere that houses all of the ather of those that would never be born again. "Where all of the proud angels drink to their deeds of blood" The angels here are obviously meteon and her sisters and the trillions that they have killed. "Their lies, twisted and torn, into dreams they're spun" Blasphemies and the final day. and finaly "Yet ever we still stand tall, Invincible, Never we fall" This is the WoL's Answer , your Answer.
Needs to have translation from 2:10 and (Big Fat Tacos) underneath Beat, the heart of Sabik.

I've always wondered. When Etherys was protected under Zodiark, did the Endsinger end life on other Stars or did just sat back and wait being lazy.
She was just sitting back by and large, but mostly because:
-Ultima Thule, her nest, was so far beyond any normal means that nothing could reach her for a long time even if they did know about it.
-She mostly could afford to sit back and let Dynamis do the work for her.
-Said Dynamis alteration kickstarted the end of countless stars in perpetual motion.
Oh, definitely. Omega and Dragons coming to Hydaelyn were her work, of course, all escaping the same end.
I'd say she just kept singing, since her goal was to eventually hit all stars anyway. If and when Zodiark's defenses fell, the Song of Oblivion was still being broadcast as it had been for all those years.
If the rest if the Universe was dead, and Big Z was still around, she might have adjusted her tactics, but in the meanwhile, the Song was doing its job elsewhere.
She was being lazy, cause if she grinded her ass off for those 12k years, she would hit the DPS check in our phase 2 during OUR boss battle.
She was gathering enough dynamis to smother our star
A fight a decade in the making. I wept
After this multi wxpansion journey I am so massively hyped for the newest expansion! The next arch will be very exiting

Even though I know the real lyrics, it will always be "Big Fat Tacos" in my heart.
That's ALL i heard during the fight 😭😭😭
To my surprise the Endsinger was the bringer of tacos, big fat TACOs!
I'm pretty sure in the Pandaemonium raid we'll find out what the heart of Sabik was, but I wonder how it connects to the Endsinger, if at all. I don't feel like they'd put those lyrics in here for no reason.
The Endsinger is a creation during the pre-sunder days. If anything the heart of Sabik is a lasting creation like she was. Or just created during the same time.
No… Ivalice jumpscare.
The heart of Sabik is the auracite for Ultima the High Seraph. Athena came to discover it and Ultima most likely influenced Athena to do what she did. This means the heart is waaay older than even the ancientes. As Cid as described both Ultima and Omega as higher dimensional beings.
In Labyrinthos the scientist tells you that many of the wars and the events of Etherys were caused by the heart of Sabik and its influence. This means many things have happened because of Ultima.

I hated this fight when I had to do it for the MSQ. Having rejoined the game fairly late into Endwalker's progression, everyone just assumed everyone knew what they were doing. It wasn't until watching this video that I saw the trajectory lines for the starfalls.
It's no easy task to keep an eye out for this stuff when there are summoners calling primals that obscure the damn camera view while watching your hotbars for CDs and procs. Like, I get it Titan's cool and all, but his ass is in the way of my line of sight! Ah shit! Is conte sixte ready yet? Ah fuck! I'm dead. Again.
You can make the summon sizes way smaller so they don’t obstruct vision and in case you don’t have party animation set to limited I would highly suggest that too
Skill diff
Git gud scrub
It may be worth considering using "/petsize all small" to help with summons being too large. Likewise, it may also be worthwhile using another hotbar if you have one spare to place somewhere in your field of view (perhaps scaled up in size in the hud menu) with copies of your abilities with long cooldowns, to make it easier to keep tabs on things. Obviously everybody plays differently so consider playing around and seeing what works for you! :D
Definitely turn summoner pet sizes to small. Balancing cooldowns and doing mechanics is just practice and will become second nature eventually.
