Dinagyang 2024 Pre-Competition Activities. Getting There by 2Go Ferry & Exploring Iloilo Attractions

Early this year I traveled to Iloilo to see the Dinagyang Festival via 28-hour sea travel via 2Go Ferry as part of my solo Panay Island Adventure.
I arrived in Iloilo very early in the morning and started immediately exploring the city as it prepared for the Grand Dinagyang Festival. I was able to visit Plaza Libertad, the San Jose Church, the old Capitol Building, and we got the rare chance of seeing the Art Deco houses of Calle Real during the car-free Dinagyang weekend.
I also got to watch the Festive Sponsors Mardi Gras and the Kasadyahan sa Kabawanhawan, two colorful pre-Dinagyang activties. In between, I got to try the delicious Iloilo favorites, the jumbo siopao of Roberto's (who gave away a free Dinagyang mug), and my new favorite Alicia's Batchoy.
I ended the day with a stroll at the beautiful Jaro Plaza.
