    *Ever notice how people who are telling the truth sound a certain way?*
    They're completely devoid of bravado and volume and insecurity. They're calm and comfortable with the words coming out of their mouths - especially on camera.
    You know - the exact opposite of Trump.

    • @arthurbriand2175
      @arthurbriand2175 6 років тому +11

      That is just because Trump is a bad liar, he is not trying to get people to believe him, just to bury them in so much falsehood, facts don't matter anymore. Actually what you are describing is what you should look for in a good liar, someone calm confident that uses facts to support his lies. Liars usually try to put as little emphasis on themselves in their lies and talk about anything except themselves. Not saying that Woodward is a liar, but Trump is not because he does not want you to believe but not to know what you can believe, it empowers him to control reality and fact checkers or anyone using logic is powerless facing this rhetoric.

    • @aranyanifox4375
      @aranyanifox4375 6 років тому +12

      EXACTLY. Even when he gets an applause and people are screaming in approval of his words, half of the times he doesn't even seem to notice it, and at other times he just smiles a little and proceeds with telling what he desperately wants the people to know. He seems so devoid of any vanity, and he is so utterly normal, sane, humble, mature, well-mannered, polite and cultivated, and also so old-fashionably honest, that after two years of the incessant Trump circus, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW SUCH PEOPLE STILL EXISTED...

    • @Frediloc8

      I dunno, have you heard Mitch McConnell talk?

    • @fl00d69
      @fl00d69 6 років тому +1

      @ Arthur - I was only talking about people in the act of telling the truth.
      Of course there are good liars. But *demonstrable* facts and evidence will still ultimately undo them.
      Trump's success is borne not of smothering people in so much falsehood that facts don't matter, but the stupidity of his supporters hearing only what they want in his words. I'd wager Trump has been playing people like that his whole life, the cancerous turd.

      Take heart in the numbers. Majority of people don't actually vote and the people they poll for these surveys usually aren't picked at random but are specifically associated with a party. 40% of people that voted or would be likely to vote for trump still have faith in him. that's less than 10% of the population of America. Fact is the huge majority of the populace are against him but the small base makes so much noise you often feel like you're alone while the world turns crazy around you. You aren't alone, we will get through this. Promise. - From a Canadian

    Hearing him say that Trump asked for the missile defence system to be moved to Portland from South Korea when its purpose is to take out North Korean missiles reminds me of that joke, where somebody makes a call asking for deer crossing signs to be moved from where they are to where there's less traffic, because they think the deer read the signs and only cross where it says they can cross.

    The 3 main problems with Trump:
    He thinks he's running a business, not a country. And he thinks he can do whatever he wants because he doesn't have a grasp on the concept of diplomacy, because he's not a diplomat, and lacks the ability to see the importance of having good relationships with other countries.
    Pride won't let him acknowledge his mistakes. He acts on impulse, and if he makes a bad choice, it's never his fault. He's arrogant and self centered, and will remove of his surroundings everyone who doesn't comply with him, or more accurately, everyone who shows that he/she is not complying.
    He doesn't have the same moral grounds as the average citizen because of his upbringing. Therefore he can't relate to the situation of life of the average american citizen. He never had to spend a night without a roof or food, he never had to worry on how to pay his bills for water/light, he never had the frustration of not knowing how to pay for a doctor if he went sick, or pay student loans. After all, he started of with just a small loan of 1 million dollars. He just wants to take what he wants and thinks he can do what he wants; just like an spoiled child.

    It just occurred to me that Woodward talks like Heath Ledger's Joker in Batman.

    Bob Woodward transmits so much credibility. I wish I could believe "truth will always emerge"..."
    Stephen shouldn't have given away the closing phrase of the book!

    'Fear' is also the title of a classic Russian novel about Josef Stalin's reign of terror in the 1930's. Written by Anatoli Rybakov. I doubt a well-read man like Bob Woodward is unaware of that.

    The most telling thing he said was “there’s a scene ....”. Your country is a reality tv show that you are all the cast for - good luck with that.

    The truth is what Trump (and most of the GOP) fear most. That, and an educated and informed electorate.
