The new sound may be needed to meet people where they are versus where we want them to be. I love old gospel but I recognize the fact that this new age gospel has a purpose.

“I don’t want no studio sound, I want a church sound.” This was great! And it was filling! I just wish the audio recording itself was a little better, the volume seems low. The video looks like it would be from “Gospel Pioneer Reunion,” but I don’t recall this gospel medley on the album, and I can’t find this full recorded version anywhere. Maybe an old TV program? Where is this from, anyone know? Gospel Pioneer Reunion was released 25 years after it was recorded. If this gospel medley was left out of its release, then I wonder how the uploader came across this gem? This is exactly how they used to start church services many years ago. Instead of the music stopping in between songs, they would just pass the microphone around like testimony service, and transition. They’d sing and shout for hours. I remember 5 hour long church services, and they would be worn out afterwards. We used to get excited going, wondering what was going to happen. I loved seeing the elderly saints in the video clip too, especially the faith filled sisters, and the old hairstyles. That brought back some memories.
I’m 52 but these brings back so many memories of going to funerals as a child were there were many tears shed but the church was always spilling over with family and friends celebrating a loved one.😓😔❤️

First the verse and then a couple of observations. ✤ _For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands._ I see that Paul is referring to our body, our “earthly tent” in Bible language. He also says that we have a new body waiting for us in heaven. So far so good. What he does not say here is whether we go to heaven to get that new body or if our new body comes to us here on earth. Do you, by any chance, know how Paul answers that question elsewhere in his writings? *tent* σκήνους (skēnous) Strong's Greek 4636: A tent, tabernacle; fig: of the human body. *house* οἰκίαν (oikian) Strong's Greek 3614: properly, residence, but usually an abode.
