- The word "triggered" is used to describe a strong emotional response to an upsetting event that reminds one of past traumas. The term has become popular for its colloquial use of feeling offended or hurt. Learning to handle negative or stressful situations is key to living a life of emotional and spiritual balance. In this episode, Shaykh Hamza discusses the sacred messages from the Quran which provide the antidote to negativity, teaching us to break free from the shackles of our base desires and find true freedom through the prophetic response.

Such bright minds need attention, but if done properly and patiently, they have tremendous potential. May Allah guide all of us. Ameen!

Dr. Gabor Mate says something similar, "If somebody is able to trigger you, it means you're the one with the ammo. You decide whether to shoot off or not." Sh Hamza's words only further solidify the truth of this for me. Alhumdulillah
MashaAllah! i heard Sheikh Hamza about 20 years ago. Once. And that was enough to change me in a very positive way. May Allah bless him and us with Jannatul Ferdous. Ameen
What a fantastic lesson - I’m going to try and start implementing this in my life from now onwards inshAllah. JazakAllah Sheikh Hamza Yusuf and to everyone who has worked to get this to us.
Masyallah, Subhanallah. May Allah grants this ummah with many more like of Sh Hamzah. He sees totally from different perspective. “Dont read The Times, read The Eternity”
Its true.
If one has nothing nice to say,say nothing.
Ammen Ya Sheikh! You’re words are gold! Usually silence is gold, but in your cases it’s vice versa!
Reflecting traumas to religion is another issue for the ummah

Dear respected brother, an honorable blessed Shiek Hazrat Hamza Yousuf Jaan.
in Sha Allah, Our Rabul Karim continue showering you with endless mercy of Iman, health and prosperity next to your sweet family .
I had never enjoyed Islamic informative speeches so profoundly until I came across your videos and taps.
Please be aware that one of your unique and so fabulous wisdom is that in every paragraph of your speech when you code a note of a pervious scholar , you mention their names and even their books name.
Subhanallah, you never intend to steel some one else’s idea or statements. That portray you and your family value and nobel character.
Unfortunately that is not the case through the educational spectrum. Even if it would be people with doctorate degree or just a collage student degree .
I noticed Hadies of Rasul s.a.w in Dr king’s speech and
He never acknowledged our prophet s. I see wise stories of Mulana Jalaludeen Rumi Balkhies’s in Dr Wayne Dyer’s speeches and he make no mention of Moulana. I see the spiritual message of Khawaja Abdula Ansari Ahrary and that Pakistani Dr. Qadri who is from 80 years old country called Pakistan and he make no mention of original source .
My question is this!
Are these people are sick or thief , dead in their heart by thinking to fool others and allowing their ego rise ??
By the way my dear real doctor, Hamza Yousuf Jaan, the story of Pakistani wise man is not true. It is stolen .
It is the story of one of the student of Abo Ali Sena Balkhi or Avessena and Shiek Abo Saied Abo Al-khyr. ابوسعید ابوالخیر some thousand years ago in khurasan. Book name is Resalat Abo Saied Abo al khyr.
With Regards.

Excellent talk
Mashallah Tabarakallah, may the Almighty grant you the highest honors in Jannah and may He make you a special source of guidance to us on earth. May Allah Azzawajjal elevate our status and purify the past, the present and the future of Muslims and grant us victory on that Day. We ask Allah the Ghafur AlRaheem forgiveness for our sins, to wipe our account clean to recieve our book on our right hand and allow us to be from among His pious allies. Amin, amin ya Rabbi Alameen.
Shaykh please please please visit my country Pakistan after this pandemic
Subhan Allah so needed this
Masha Allah very nice
Thank you
Subhanallah
Assalam alaikum. A bit confused with this talk, as it’s too easy to say don’t let anyone manipulate or control your inner state. That could lead to avoidance of our feelings or injustices not being acknowledged, then how would change happen if we do not say or do anything. The Hadith if we see something unjust to change with our hands, if not on tongue or hate in our hearts - thus we would need to feel/be triggered to understand it is wrong no? - our beloved Prophet weeped for his ummah and grieved and triggered no? Forgiveness, empathy and compassion are separate things, one can forgive someone who was unjust or tried to manipulate but to acknowledge and bring change is an important factor. The tyrant firaun was asked how did he become and evil tyrant and he said no one stopped me. So I am trying to understand do not be manipulated or get angry and be triggered - however anger is an emotion Allah has given us to perhaps bring about change and stop the oppressors and the manipulators rather than ignore and not be triggered. Happy for someone else to offer their understanding. Jazakallahu Khairan
Brilliant
SubhaanAllah.
But what to do when you see time and again violations of Quran and Sunnah. How to calibrate BUGHZ FILLAH ?
Allah bless support help forgive protect succeed uplift enhance love us all so we become sadaqa jaariya /charity for humanity human beings nature regardless race religion culture nationality. Ameen
Wow.
