Being a moderate (i.e. not fanatical) christian, you make so much sense.
The reason for that is Islam. Islam is a religion that makes sense

My faith was shaken in Hamza Yusuf after I heard from a reliable source that he drinks alcohol! I suppose it’s the old habit which is difficult to let go! The question is, how can I call him a Shaykh after I have known this?
Truly Sheikh Hamza Yusuf is a beacon of hope for those that struggle and strive towards the fountain of Deen, in all our brokenness. When I waver, his eloquent approach, with no raising of voice or shouting at all (a problem among many religious figures these days) manages to connect on that spiritual level we all innately wish to be tethered to. The way he can take knowledge and construct it in such a way, you can’t help but smile because of how relatable it is. In a world that profits on selfishness and the disease that is a materialistic society, feeding on our differences rather than our connectedness - he puts into perspective that the ones that seek answers and those hearts that can’t find rest in the untruthfulness of today, that the solutions of our problems are much simpler. Humans tend to overcomplicate and deviate in ways that, to our souls, feels unnatural. Depression is at an all time high because of the competitiveness of societies and the desire to acquire wealth and amass ‘things’ rather than to build real connections based on the fundamentals of humanity. The fact he can take the teachings of not just Islamic origin, and present it to us in such a way to make understanding what is said, is an actual gift. May Allah swt protect and bring together the revivers of our hearts InshaAllah

Yes, I heard it too. It’s true, Hamza Yusuf has been diagnosed with a malignant form of testicular cancer for which he is currently undergoing cancer treatment. He continues his battle with cancer knowing that he has not very long to live. It’s sad but death is inevitable for anyone great or small, for Allah is Haqq, life is Haqq, Death is Haqq.
May Allah Protect us from all things evil. Ameen.

I have to write it as I have no doubt whatsoever in my mind that my brothers have always despised me as long as I remember mainly due to the fact that I have no mental compatibility with them. They are born smarter and became successful and I was an underdog for as long as I can remember. Lately I tried my best to clear my heart and made a sincere approach but as always their shrewdness, selfishness, cynicism, and egocentrism overcame which made them decide to continue to hate me. This time I have given up that we do have irreconcilable differences, they are what they are and I am what I am. They can’t be changed and nothing can change their hearts for me. It is hard but a reality. End of writing.

I have a hypothesis. When a pious person follow Allah's ordain, the body start reacting positively and it reflects on the face of that person. Its kind of when a dead seed start growing up a green tree with water and fertilizer. A sedentary lifestyle person, who chain smoke, drink hard, less sleep, party strong, their body and face reflect the exhaustion. Opposite happen, when any person begin following Allah's ordain with a peach in heart, that person face will start glowing. Look at our Brother Omar Suleiman/ Sk Hamza, when they talk I see noor in their face glowing.

The hadith works contain the most grotesque corruption because it deliberately excuses/condones those behaviours that the Qur'an absolutely does not compromise on.These hadith tales even dare to slanderously, attribute them to Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w). Indeed, behaviours that Islam/Allah(SWT) from the time of Prophet Adam has never ever compromised upon -for the the absolute best of reasons.

These wrongful behaviours from adultery to abuse of privacy to wilful/ignored misrepresentation of Allah’s precise terminologies are clearly defined in the Qur’an. No degree of their excused or condoned practice in the ‘Hadith’ collection can legitimise or pardon them.
