  • LOGS ARE BEING STACKED!
    We are so incredibly excited about the progress that we are making on our cabin build. I say this every upload and I hope that I can continue to say it, we are making amazing progress! We couldn't be more grateful for how smoothly the cabin build has gone so far and are even setting our sites on some homestead projects that we deemed for next year.
    In this week's video, Levi teaches me how the floor construction goes before his Dad comes and helps us get it knocked out of the park. Then after a fair amount of log sorting, we got to stack some logs! Hopefully, Henry has a better week next week because I am hoping to help set a few logs in my future home as well. Caring for our little man will always come first for me though!
    Levi's parents are headed to Colorado for a visit so next week we will probably be working on some side plans before they come back to keep helping with the build. Assuming we get some things done we will continue to stack logs up to the base of the windows.
    Windows! We are going to have our very own windows soon.
    The excitement continues over here and as always we have to say THANK YOU, VIEWERS. Our amazing UA-cam viewers help us make this life continue to be possible and we couldn't appreciate everyone more.

    You all are really coming along. Becca, please be careful. Your body isn't made to do what a man can do in lifting. I know, I am almost 70 and I have been having back issues for many years, from doing men's work when I was young and invincible. Henry is so cute! Take care of your body now so it will take of you, when your older.

      I can't help but agree 100% !!!!
      I was born and raised 1 of 7 siblings into farming life . I assumed the role of doing everything as good as my bro's and sis's. I went straight into life on the land until I was 24. Once in suburbia I was still the lawn mower and yard worker etc after birthing my daughter & son. The years of lugging bales of hay thru the snow to feed stranded sheep and cattle finally took their toll at 43yrs old when a simple but serious back injury occurred after hauling trolleys full of heavy boxes up an uneven gravel sort of pathway after loading and unloading the boxes . The disc & nerve damage was horrendous and the already major onset of deterioration of the spine have left me disabled for the past 26yrs. I have to sleep on a couch to give my back support as I can only sleep on my right side. I hobble around on a walking stick or a hired electric scooter in the shops.
      I seriously suggest you RECONSIDER how much excessive work you put on your busy esp your back !!!!!
      Since my injury I've lost my only son to suicide at 25yrs old and took on raising his son from 2yrs old. His mother wanted to abort him but I refused to facilitate her travelling to do so. So once he was horn and she didn't want to raise him ,mi put her in mental health facility and prayed long and hard about my grson and was 100% sure God assured me He'd be with me 100% of the way when I accepted the responsibility of raising him. It was a very difficult time as he had so many struggles esp after losing his Dadfy and his future step mum who'd taken her into her heart, but he felt abandoned hy everyone as she'd already gone back to Tassie before his Dad passed.
      Anyway, suffice to say, you have zero idea what life will call you to do so please please be ever so xareful of your body esp YOUR BACK. NOW you feel invincible, I did too, but oh how different these past 26yrs have been. If only I'd known in my teens up to 40 what was in store for me. Use other women's experiences to be your hindsight. Much love and prayers for the safety of you all. God is good.🇦🇺 🤗💞🙏👍👌✌️👏🇬🇧

    What part of Alaska are y’all located in and I’ve been doin a lot of research for properties but most is not what I’m looking for and have heard from other channels that there is more properties for sale that isn’t on a big real estate website like willow or what have ya… would love to buy a property like y’all’s and by the videos looks to be pretty nice area and not a lot of bogs or marshes. Or is there any other properties in your area? Would love to move my family (wife, daughters) to Alaska from NC which I don’t live in the city by no means but the city is getting closer if ya know what I mean.. thanks for any help or advice. Doin great with the channel and videos keep getting better

    • @beccanlevisalaska
      @beccanlevisalaska  5 місяців тому

      We're north of Willow, a good ways! It's 3 hours give or take to Wasilla for us which has its pros and cons. We found our property by picking some areas and sending letters to property owners with no buildings on their land to see if they were interested in selling. We got quite a few replies, and a lot said they replied because we made our letter personable! Try Craigslist for random properties, and even Google search and some other random realtor websites may have things that aren't on realtor.com or zillow! The more creative you get with Alaska realty, the more you'll find. I can't count the places with just a plywood 'For Sale' sign in the yard. 😆 There are a ton of bogs in our area, though! I think the only avoiding them is by going even further into the Interior and even then, I'm sure there's a lot. We almost bought a property here for an amazing price, and I sunk up to my knees the moment I stepped off the road! It looked great in photos, a nice forest like what we bought. Not the case when checking it, though! It's the wild west for real estate here, for sure.
