I can see why people say Chappell Roan is an overnight success though. I am obv not in the music scene, but I have seen 4 references to her today, in a movie review, on the radio, in this video and in a newspaper article . And until recently I had never heard of her.
I used to listen to Chappell since covid, and i loved California so much, i always tried tp share the word of her music to my friends, im genuinely proud of her reaching here. She was never an industry plant, shes just girl who earned her success
i think something that also might hinder dasha's success is that she does not really have a core fan base. Sabrina has been selling out theatres since she was 16 and toured all around the world. and pre eras tour her venues got to like 6k capacity and her tour grossed 10million usd. Now she is gonna perform in arenas for the short and sweet tour which is amazing
That is also a really good point! It's interesting because I feel like likes/followers don't always translate to audiences who will pay for things but artists are still pushed by management who seemingly think they will translate.
It’s exciting to see how well your campaign is doing already-congratulations! I have a few ideas that could amplify your efforts and help you reach your goal even faster. Let me know if you’re interested!
My question is why werent these claims of "overnight success" made about Oliva Rodrigo? Didnt her first song explode overnight literally, that seems much more industry planty LOL (Unless im totally forgetting or didnt see lol)
say it louder for the people who keep commenting "who?" or "never heard of this girl and now i'm being force fed her music" on every video of chappell, sabrina, and renee rapp like 1. just say you're out of touch with the music industry and 2. that's kind of how music careers work: you work for years and years until you have a breakthrough
Sabrina has been working hard as a artist for years, she finally shining
AS SHE DESERVES

Oh yeah, she is absolutely BLOWING UP right now for sure. Just wanted to tell the universe she worked super hard for it haha

Yes!!!! It is SO well deserved!!!!
super interesting and definitely agree! people throw around “industry plant” way too much, and now it’s just overused to disparage female artists
‼️seriously...like just be happy for women pls

Was curious about Sabrina Carpenter, time stamp 7:29 for those wondering
I tried doing the chapter thing but it apparently is not working 😭
I see it now! I might have just been too early

I'm pretty sure she was also called an overnight success but everyone liked her/was on her side with the Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter drama
