I love this album. Thank you for sharing. I just listened to it on my O/96's
I love piano trios, both classical and jazz.
Dan
Bob Dylan made his concert debut at Weill Hall, less than 100 people were attending.
I went to High school on 56th street. The stage door was often open while the orchestras were rehearsing. This was in the late 60s early 70s, Giants were still walking the Earth then.
I live in the suburbs of Philly and way back when there were several free concerts a year in Fairmount Park. A girl I was dating at the time took me to see a Van Cliburn concert. It was fabulous and eye opening, and it created a love I now have for classical music.
Thank you John for your very informative/educational post. Beethoven has always grabbed me viscerally, like no other, from a very young age.
Beautiful rainy day here in new England for piano trios. Enjoy! The archduke trio I have is Casals, Horszowski, Végh on Murray Hill records. I’ll play it next! Thanks for the tip.
Thank you for introducing me to this beautiful composition, performance and recording.
Thanks John, for the recommendation, can you check your speed, to me it sounds slow/flat, I listened to several other recording of this lp on UA-cam of this , and yours sounds a little “odd” imho, this trio has had some great combinations over the years of Stellar soloists combining
A true New Yorker
Definitely think this melody influenced the Philadelphia eagles fight song
