Hi, There is no upper age limit to join the New Zealand Police :) You can view the entry requirements here www.newcops.co.nz/recruitment-process/entry-requirements Thanks, ^po
Hi Jamie, You can see the specifics by clicking "reaching the standard" for each portion of the test here www.newcops.co.nz/start-training/pat-training-advice. Thanks ^po
Hi Bradley, communicators are not required to do the PAT :) You can find about more about communications roles here www.hellonzpolice.co.nz/ Thanks ^po
I could picture me as a cop but nah, I think my medical experience and history might put the co ordinator off 🥴 although my medical isn't bad or seriously in effect. I'm fine but eh, I hear stories about police. Doesn't sound good.
I don't either but I'm sure police will let you learn if they can by pass that as it is only your fitness test. It shouldn't be a compulsory thing to have to pass when you can pass everything else.
Thats not a proper form press up. Arms should not be 90 or flared but ofc its easier to do... Also, its press up not push up. We follow UK english not USA.
There are various types of press-ups, this is only one version. Try it sometime it's not an easy press up when doing 34 of them after a 2.4km run. You have to go low and your arms stay at a 90 degree angle when coming down low in the press up.
@@BattlerBears71 I know there is more than one version of a press up but this isn't a version. It's just bad form and puts stress on your albows. Literally just google how to do a proper push up...
@@user-ny7tt8my1r Well of course there is, but this isn't one of those types, it's bad form and puts stress on your albows. Google how to do a proper push up...
I passed my PAT last week. Looking forward to SCOPE next.
was it hard?
How has the whole process been for you?
Have you done distance learning yet?
What is SCOPE?
The more i read about it on their site , the more imposible it seems for me to be a cop
Reading it now and same 😭🤦♀️
I really suck at running I have huge thunder thighs and that's what is holding me back. I am trying to get better at running
Great video keep up the work!
I have really bad eyesight and half blind without glasses, probably unable to join the police but I do want to get fit with PAT standard
Hey that's fine. Just do some fitness. I think police may have some exceptions but good eye sight is definetly especially with colour.
can you guys do a video on the PCT course please
Thank you, this is really helpful :)
I, m going to be a policeman in New Zealand I, m proud of nz
I'd rather stick to the normal push up than these ones. Those who have shoulder issues due to injury or surgery would kind if find it difficult.
Good tips
i would like to do training, be fit and have skills like an officer. I just can picture me as a police officer. Good vid though. Thanks for sharing

im going to start training again to become a cop any extra help or advice?
"Eastern distract" while sitting PAT in Taupo 😂
At 35 years old. How much chance i will be accepted as a police officer of new zealand?

Damn...that vertical jump I'm 5ft. 1. It ain't gonna be that high...
Is it something you pass or fail? What happens if I don´t get the right score?
Hi Andrea, you can read about PAT/PCT here www.newcops.co.nz/start-training/pat-training-advice Thanks ^po
Is the fitness standard the same for older applicants ie 50 years old as that of 23 year olds.
Hi Jamie, You can see the specifics by clicking "reaching the standard" for each portion of the test here www.newcops.co.nz/start-training/pat-training-advice. Thanks ^po
Hey mate, I'm about to hit 40. If you're thinking about trying out then I don't have any excuses. Good luck brother
Born Ready 👮♂️Look forward
Would you need to do the run to be a coms officer?, like is it part of basic or do they go through a different training?. Thanks XD

Thank you :) kind regards
How many push ups do you have to do and what time is the 2.4 k run?
No set limit. Just make sure to do them correctly! Try your best
Depends on your age find out more on the newcops website.
@@DanEnforcement I gym twice a day. Peace of cake. 10km in 40 minutes.
Depending on your BMI, 34+ push ups for max points and under 10min.15sec. for the 2.4k run
@@dimitarse1 gotcha thanks.
Nice
Not to be a know it all, but a 90 degree push up is not a proper form. Elbows should be at 45 angle.
