- in this Video Join me as i demonstrate my circa 1968 Akai X1800 SD reel player this is mainly about the Reel To Reel operation of this unit and the controls I skipped over the 8 Track portion of this machine because currently I only have the one 8 track Cartridge that has copyright Material on it , My friend Dave Bought this unit over seas when in the service in 1968
this machine would also record 8 tracks--and could play at 15 with the right combination of capstans and switches.
Great video,i bought this deck today, even came with acc.package.
thank You , I have gotten lots of enjoyment out of my machine , One word of caution about these Akai Machines be very gentle with the tape controls ( ffw and rewind and playback knobs) there are cams inside these units that are prone to breakage and are quite difficult to replace from what i have seen on you tube , My Machine luckily has not broken yet
Yes i know, ive replaced the cam's on otherAkai's,i have 50+ deck's,love all of them an try to use them daily.
I have one I need to sell
Muy bueno
Saludos
Hi what are you using to record on to the machine from off of UA-cam?
I simply used a Stereo Line Cord with a stereo 1/8 jack on one end and rca composite Plugs on the other end of the cord , I plugged the 1/8 jack into the headphones jack on my Desktop PC and the RCA composite Ends into the Line IN on the back of the Akai Machine to feed the audio output from my desktop directly into the Akai , I bought the audio cord at Wall Mart several years ago
Aah, aah, aah, aah ,aah..
i have one i need to sell. i have the player and about 25 tapes
Does your unit have a built in cassette player mind does but don't know what is, all the ones I've seen on you tube don't have a cassette plyer.
@@mushiemushie9868 yes it has the built in 8 track player. I've had it on ebay for 3 weeks and nothing. It also has 25 tapes of music to go with it
Is it still for sale?
@@spencerkelley8801 actually yes. I never have been able to sell mine
