A few owners upgrade counter with a 4 digit digital. Do you known where these can be had ? They're photo optic sensor so they turn as fast as the reel rotates.
Hey, what size tape is compatible with the machine, 1/4 or 1/2?
how do you bias this deck properly for a specific tape ?

We use Kimber Kable, we're a dealer here in the Tri-State Area (NY/CT/NJ). Far as connections it's just audio out to your amplifier. Stereo RCA Pair.
@@SkyFiAudio Is the pitch control supposed to be in the on position during playback? Or off?
I was given one and if i have the pitch control off the tension arms will bob up and down and the music will distort but if i have it in the on position there is no problem and the music plays fine.

I have the Sony 788-4 and a Pioneer 707
they know how to put 20K on a 2.5k deck, but they can't even get the name of the deck right in the video. this place should be called " sky high audio" or "we are high" audio.
Technics Made nice machine, but have locked of fidelity and features. I prefer a Teac X1000R over any Technics
the reel to reel is not working good playing 2 meters run , fastforward en back play again only one vu meter works bad machine

For the money this shop charges for their items,this machine's tape tension bellows should not be shutting off the machine and this guy should know how to thread tape to a deck.The Technics should have been serviced thoroughly(recapped,cleaned,flipped all 3 bellows,and installed cork brakes,dexoit controls & calibrated)first before displaying a video on such a overpriced machine.
