- Initially I had difficulty finding vegetarian foods In Kuching cuisine. So I took a cooking class to understand Sarawak food flavors and cooking. I thought Kuching was only Malaysian food; I didn't know there was a Sarawakian style of cooking. We visited Satok Market to learn about our ingredients before cooking.

i always stay with them,,,they have loads of room for me,,,there houses are in the lorong kempas area,,,
I shopped at Satok Market when I was a kid. It was nothing more than a parking lot where vendors sold their produce in the open. Now it's all modernized. Wow! Enjoyed that!

Wow, you must've been surprised when I visited your home town. ;) But seeing as it's your hometown, I have a WHY question about the condoms vs chewing gum and mentos... (in the recently published video)
Asians are a shy lot when it comes to sex and having the condoms placed so prominently makes it easy to find. No need to worry about the embarrassment of asking the clerk where the condoms are. Also no need for the clerk, especially if the clerk is a devout Muslim female wearing their 'tudung' (head cover) to blush and have toshow where the condoms are located.
The Satok Market is no more. It had been relocated to Kubah Ria since 2011/12 which you can see in the video.
It's been ages since I visited that sunday market. Feels like going there this weeked after seeing this video. lol. Glad you like it here very much. I'm not sure whether you've been to Beyond Veggie restaurant or not, but I normally brought my vegetarian friends there, and yea, I gotta admit that the food taste literally like chicken.
