- Julie managed to keep this "Amazon Support" scammer on the line for over THIRTY MINUTES. That's the longest BBB Calls Scammers call yet! Do we award them the Most Patient or Most Persistent Award? We'll let you decide.
I love that the BBB is fighting scammers. More organizations and agencies need to follow suit.

Great video. You're so calm with them that it makes them calm. I once had a call that said I had to pay back my missed taxes and how if I didn't, an officer would come to my "doorstep" and have me executed on the spot. xD
My friend had a guy say she'd be dead by midnight, she said, bring it, if you get in the driveway before the 357 hits you then you can kill me. He called back apologized to her. What a dipstick. He was from publisher clearing house!
I would have called his bluff for sure!

And they attempt some kind of American accent, a few minutes in they forget and back to their native accent
He is from India. "Do me one thing, ma'am" is very Indian. They think they are "believable" if they use American names. Also, they get more senior citizens who typically know nothing abut computers.
Hell I lived in the US for over 40 yrs also an American citizen, I can’t even afford an American name 😒
@@bullcat69 I don't know about the USA but, here in the UK I can use an online Professional Deed Poll Company and legally change my name (by Deed Poll....of course) and every business (including Banks) and the UK Government has to legally accept that name change. My wife changed her name by Deed Poll....adding a middle name, which she never had, and changing her surname. She didn't want to keep her ex's surname and she didn't want to revert back to her maiden name so, she just changed it to my surname since we were marrying and, she didn't want to have to go through the trouble of changing her surname again after we were married (she wanted to take my surname after marriage anyway). When we were married the Marriage Certificate stated a Bridges was marrying a Bridges lol. It's also very affordable, as it can be done for around £9. Of course it can cost much more depending on the Company the Deed Poll is done through.
And they always say "ok?". I wish someone would say NO!! NOT OK!!!!!

I am SO GLAD I found these videos! I just received a call from someone in India claiming to be calling to schedule an appointment for my son at his dr's office. He was so hard to understand and he claimed he was in my city. I've gotten a few calls from this number claiming I owed a co-pay but never paid. So this time I told him I would call the office directly to schedule. I called the actual office and spoke to the scheduler. She said they actually do have an India office, but there is no record of anyone ever calling me from the India center. She looked up the number and what do you know, it was a scam number! I would love to see a video of you calling them!

Yeah the BBB is also a SCAM. They give bad reviews to people that DON'T PAY THEM. I worked at a company that shut down because of fraud but had an A rating according to the BBB because the owner paid them.

When I have free time at home and get calls like this, I drag them out as long as I can. I mess with them, take my time, pretend I don't understand so they have to repeat everything over and over. I've kept them going for over an hour without them even getting on my computer, lol.
As long as I waste their time, it's entertainment for me. ^_^

EXACTLY! Which is why I try to tie them up as long as possible. Another tip: Never, EVER, use the word "Yes" when conversing with them. It's especially dangerous if they're recording and can piece together an audio that never happened.
@@CT_Yankee I like to play stupid with them. When they tell me to open Google Chrome, and ask what I see on the screen, I just say "Google". When a person, with a thick Indian accent, tells me his name is Wilson, I ask him where his office is located.
I don’t get any scam calls anymore If I want to abuse scammers, I have to use my wife’s phone.She sees a number that she doesn’t recognize,she hands it to me then,it’s game on🤣🤣🤣🤣
James outstanding. I have AT&T who now warns you that it's a scam call. On 05/13/2021 I got a call from alleged ALL-STATE insurance with a 900 area code. I don't answer as the 900 numbers are what the caller may not know that these 900 numbers are where the caller gets charged up to $20.00 a minute. On May 10 2021 about a fraudulent accident that didn't happen. I didn't go anywhere I've got a front and rear dash cam. But as I said I won't call any 900 number. But if only the poor folks that call back don't even know of this scam. I'm 67 and back when I was a young man 900 premiumn number were used by criminal websites even in 2021. I can't call these fools back as I didn't fall for their garbage scam. Best of luck to you and your family. George Campbell Florida

Goodness, that reminds me of the early days of the Internet when I got an email from a scammer about something (I can't remember but it was obvious B.S.). I called the number and the guy sounded like he had just woke up. He needed help during the call and I could CLEARLY hear the other scammers in the background. When I challenged him on the nonsense he hung up- but I called him back, REPEATEDLY, and he threatened TO REPORT ME TO THE POLICE. LOL!!!!!!
Damned.Now my wife is getting into screwing with scammers. I heard her on the phone ,grunting like a pig at one of them.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seriously, if you haven't done this, DO IT!!! It is a lot of fun to string this scammers along, and every minute they are on the phone with you is one minute that they are not scamming someone else.
Plus many scammers have to buy a calling card from their bosses. So wasting their time costs them money.

But regards to American accents and pronunciation.
I am an avid viewer of CopWatch and First Amendment Audits holding police to account, here in the UK and also in the USA, Australia and Canada.
In America from Alaska to Florida to Texas and all States in between, the auditors in all those States have their own signature dialects and accents and I'm fascinated by every one of them. I am from Cornwall in Southern England and my accent makes me sound like an uneducated moron in the eyes of those who speak 'proper English', but I have a Doctorate in Physics from Cambridge University.
I'm assuming (presuming) that some accents in some States would make some residents appear backward or uneducated in the eyes of those so-called 'normal' people. Anybody from Alabama or Arkansas or similar reading this?

I truly believe sharing a scammer taking place in real time literally including everything said. Is way more helpful too ppl in recognizing a scam caller. Especially when the scammers use big company name’s, such as Amazon, BBB, S. Security and IRS. Too name a few.

If his name is Alex Wilson, my name is Mahatma Gandhi. I get a lot of calls to clean my air ducts. It sounds like they say "ducks". So I ask them "Do you only clean ducks or do you do other waterfowl? Do you clean flamingos, pelicans, cormorants? Oh, how about geese! I'd love to give you a nice big goose but I'd like it to be clean first."

One thing I would add when mentioning tips too avoid scammers: There are several apps that allow the scammer to choose what phone number shows up on caller ID. They can call from India but your caller ID will show a number with your own area code. Definitely be careful with those!

There are many scam baiter UA-camrs who do exactly that and some work with Indian authorities to shut down call centers..

I got one of these calls yesterday and I reported the phone number to AARP. They are helping people avoid these scams. I gave them the phone number I had called and apparently they are able to take the numbers down. I called the number later and it was "out of service." So I think it is important for us to do whatever possible to make life difficult for the scammers.
As soon as these guys start saying "ok ?... ok ?..." alarm bells start ringing for me.
'This is from the IRS, agent Jack Smith, ok?'
Does he not know that Santiago is in Chile? I'm sure the rule book "The art of Scamming" includes a chapter on pronouncing one's location correctly.
They've been very busy this past year. Our lengthy lockdown was their opportunity. I've received 38 calls concerning my hacked WiFi. In each I'm directed to open Chrome. I claim to be in zoom meetings. My guilty pleasure is wasting their time. I follow an excellent Utuber, Kitboga, who has great fun playing the willing victim before destroying their greedy plans. I LOVE your video clips about scams. I was wondering if you would ever do something about being catfished and how scammers are catfishing people to get things like gift cards, steam cards, and merchandise too! I was catfished last year, and they used the identity of an actual real US Army officer to hook me. I was taken to the cleaners because I missed the warning signs, which should have been obvious.

Anytime they ask for gift cards it a sure scam. And the majority have an Indian accent living in India of course LOL.

I told one scammer that I work for the IRS and he hung up lol
I've had that one pulled on me twice. Once they said the phone was almost $1,000 the second time they said it cost $900. I told them no problem I'll take care of it thanks for letting me know. They started arguing with me so I told them my sister in-law works for Amazon Help desk and to hold on the line and I'll get her on the phone with us as a conference call. They hung up on me so fast.
I say to them that I’ll get my son Jim Browning to the phone as he is my mentor! Last time they laughed, swore and hung up😆
