And as to unohana being surprised in the first fight makes no sense. The man was literally sitting on top of a mountain of bodies. Unuhana got cut because zaraki was better end of story.
@@KingkuntaGG Everyone has a perspective view point on everything, even if you don’t agree with it as long as he’s not bringing anyone else down that’s all that matters and even then it wouldn’t matter too much since we’re talking about fictional characters, so I don’t see your whole Truth had an “incredibly stupid and misguided assessment”. If you hadn’t noticed Zaraki made himself weaker than her towards the end of the fight after seeing her exhausted before him and just like the end of that fight, she allowed herself to be sacrificed for the greater good by a biding him farewell just before he pierced her, by no means is that “discrediting both characters strengths and ideals”, if anything it’s only fair and an honest assessment of the truth based on her actions. Also, I am having a mountain of bodies as something redundant and by no means impressive since she can do the same thing as being the most notorious criminal in soul society’s history. Unohana underestimated him as a child not expecting one to have such strength of brutality, that’s why she got cut, what makes no sense is believing that he’s somehow inherently better than her because of that.

Remind me why she never participated in the quincy invasion? Squad 4 sitting out makes sense but Unohana? Hell nah. Like imagine if she had actually contributed in that whole fiasco. So many shinigami might have lived through it and wouldn't have to needlessly die. Also whats the point in her dying here? I know they try to justify it with the whole there can be only one kenpachi but that just isn't a good reason. I think Unohana's Bankai can melt anything including herself. Thanks to Kaido, she was able to continuously heal Zaraki and herself. Thus, the battle between the two was continued until Zaraki fully awakened and that was Unohana's last wish. She has more than enough power to heal all her wounds but she doesn't do so just to leave the title of Kenpachi reserved for the only worthy one.
If she could heal or not, doesn't matter Zaraki was stronger than her at that stage, and she prolly couldn't keep up if that fight continued, than Zaraki could maybe get into a loop and again think of her as when he was a kid. She died at the perfect moment, but she realised he surpassed her when he came at her and she was shocked. She knew the fight was over pretty much than. She's not the character that would give up her life like that, she realised she was no match for him anymore. And passed on the torch to the new Kenpachi.
@@TheFlexibilityMaster We don't know if it's true. He was literally melting in the anime/manga. 💀. It's safe to assume it has acidic propertiies. Let's not pretend like Minazuki in shikai doesn't literally heal people with stomach acid 😂. Bros be delusional.
@@Kaden786 what kind of acid only melts perfectly half of a body when it's equal exposure lol. The way he talks too during that whole im melting monologue is that his restraints on his power are melting away and that he's finally fully awake and reborn.
I am so very happy we didn't get a half-assed version 10 years ago. I always kept track of any news of an anime adaptation and I was disappointed for so long, but now when it is here, I am so glad that they waited to do it right.
Well healing is nice, but if you miss raw power to beat something, than you can heal all you want. They lost a power house in Yamamoto so they really needed brute strenght to replace that prolly. It prolly wasn't really needed for her to die, think that was pretty lame as she could still have usage especially as she wasn't really a kenpachi anymore. But meh think having her healing would be pretty OP to but more boring than a power house I suppose.
@@quickie17 yeah I agree, her dying doesn't really make sense, but than again maybe it did as they are power hungry fighting like beings. Imagine they had to fight there, if they end up sparring or fighting everytime on top it would pretty much destroy everything. So I suppose that's why there can only be 1 kenpachi at a time no clue. It was not needed in my opinion but it prolly has it's reasons.
The thing is that all that was for nothing the miracle was literally kill by the plot, Kempachi full on bankai could kill him but his body was to weak for his power.
@@quickie17she said it’s inevitable they would end up fighting and one dying regardless. There were other kenpachis just none to unohana’s level except zaraki. She already explained why it could only be one. She only learned to heal to enjoy the battle she could’ve easily ignored the orders and went out to heal some of the soul reapers she didn’t for a reason. And if her bankai would’ve been stolen it would be over for the soul society
To better understand Unohana’s Bankai Minazuki in its Shikai state is like a manta ray that heals people within its stomach, using its unique stomach acid to heal individuals in contrast the Bankai is an immensely fast acting acid from the blood when she activates that can reduce an individual to a skeleton, which is why Kenpachi asked himself was he melting also this acid is also potentially fatal Unohana herself, that is why we saw her and Kenpachi like skeletons, however with Unohana’s mastery of Kaido which is a form of healing Kido she uses it to mitigate the effects of her Bankai to heal both herself and Kenpachi
This is just speculation, it was never confirmed officially. Pretty sure, the melting was in his mind, he stopped hallucinating once he said he woke up. I feel like it would be way more obvious if he was melting by some acid, not split straight down perfectly like two-face
@@StealthNinjaBob Yeah you might be right on the Bleach wiki there was initially an explanation behind the acid but it's not there anymore. I do think that since she's been using Kaido to heal and bring him back from the brink of death that it seems it's what her Bankai does plus it's the perfect antithesis to her Shikai.
I do stand corrected that it appears according to a video from MrTommo2304 that Unohana’s Bankai isn’t acid based like I originally thought instead, the ability appears to be how her blood is Weaponized, and it can be used both offensively and defensively offensively it can act as like extensions of her sword, where she can strike from a distance, but defensively, it can also be use to make something of a shield to protect her from incoming attacks, and quite possibly the blood that is created, can also be used to heal her
Now you know why even way back in Soul Society arc, Byakuya told Ichigo that his Bankai and Zanpakuto don't really seem like they are that. Well, they aren't.
Just some helpful info since I know y’all don’t remember 😂. Zaraki named himself after the district he was in, and named his lieutenant in the same way “Yachiru Kusajishi” her first name from the person he most admired (Unohana Yachiru) and her last name the district he found her in. That’s why he says “Kenpachi of Zaraki” he decided to claim that title by killing the 10th Kenpachi before him who we see in this episode, making Zaraki the 11th, the 8th Kenpachi also fought Zaraki and was probably down there in Muken with Aizen watching the whole battle go down lmao
With the awakened partner line shes basically saying know the shackles he placed on himself are off, he can learn his zanpaktou's name hence the voice at the end.
Ever since the manga chapter released where she went Bankai and no one knew wtf it did, I always subscribed to the idea it was on some Bloodborne bloodtinge shit like Lady Maria. Glad to finally be validated.
Unohana's death was more than just unlocking Zaraki's full power and passing on the title of "Kenpachi". After Yama died, Unohana was the last fragment from the old guard, the last remnant of the dark days. Her dying here symbolizes that the SS is entering a new era, where they can leave behind the sinful past and look towards the future
Yeah, that's...optimistic...for his chances. Of course, it would be better than a Kenpachi/Ichigo fight, because the former would result in just Renji dying, while the latter could result in half of Soul Society being leveled. At full power, those two are easily stronger then the entire Gotei, and probably stronger than the Zero Squad.
She didn't let him win. She gave everything she had and knew that was the end. I don't think from what what we just learned about her that she would just let someone win.
11:06 not necassarily his sword, but the powers of a soul reaper were given....yet he started off with a large ass sword... Here is another thing to note: from day 1, rukia, when giving ichigo his powers...rukia mentioned that he was supposed to take a small portion of her powers "temporarily"... but he ended up "absorbing" all of her powers.... something that you would only see from a quincy(power to absorb spirit energy)... Looking back on it, that was a major hint that was glossed over..
Can we talk about how much of a beast Kid Zaraki was? Not only was this boy able to push a Captain of the strongest generation of the Gotei 13(AKA the most notorious criminal in history) but almost defeat her in battle as well. And the only reason he didn’t was because he handicapped himself and subconsciously thought “Hey if I cut her down now, I won’t be able to have fun anymore.”
This is a complete copy paste that isn’t even entirely or accurately true since you’re not giving credit to the woman responsible. She didn’t have healing capabilities back then and didn’t even attempt to use her Bankai going all out, it was just base to base.
Ichigo failing the test while Renji doesn't makes sense for two main reasons: 1. Ichigo doesn't understand himself or his past while Renji understands his. For all the slack Renji gets, he is honestly one of the model Soul Reapers in Soul Society, and has fully come to terms with the struggling past he and Rukia had, and looks forward to the future clearly. Ichigo has only ever understood certain aspects of himself, and rejected others, including actually understanding his mother and who she was, rather than just accepting her death. 2. Ichigo has never been a proper Soul Reaper, and has constantly taken shortcuts to obtain the power he has. From gaining his Soul Reaper powers in three unusual means, to obtaining Bankai in 3 years. Ichigo speed ran a process that takes tens if not hundreds of years in about 3. He needs to finally go through the proper channels of gaining his powers, which Oetsu won't do until Ichigo has the first reason.
Kenpachi was like a gunfighter who was so ridiculously fast he could win every duel by closing the distance and pistol whipping his enemy to death. Now he's finally loading the gun.
We have seen Unohana's Shikai before, in the 2nd arc. It is this giant, green ray which can float and heal people. Minazuki is the name, like her bankai's.
Probably two of the most terrifying and brutal Soul Reapers to ever exist just going at it. My only complaint is that the fight is already over. We saw how strong Kenny was when he decided to use the absolute most basic swordsman techniques and use two hands. Now this absolute monster has Shikai.
@11:07 plus Ichigo has been ignoring half of his powers ever since he got zangetsu. He's been rejecting white ichigo for the longest because he is too hollow-like despite the fact that white ichigo when asked who he(it?) & Where's old man zangetsu said *" he is me & I'm him."* This went over Ichigo's head completely.
The fight was a little short, I was hoping to get more. Especially more for Unohanas Bankai. Also it’s a shame she had to die like that, I get it’s to make Kenpachi stronger but it’s just a waste of the strongest female Shinigami
The red blood sword she gifts him is a figure of speech of her finally giving him the title of Kenpachi.

And as to unohana being surprised in the first fight makes no sense. The man was literally sitting on top of a mountain of bodies. Unuhana got cut because zaraki was better end of story.

Everyone has a perspective view point on everything, even if you don’t agree with it as long as he’s not bringing anyone else down that’s all that matters and even then it wouldn’t matter too much since we’re talking about fictional characters, so I don’t see your whole Truth had an “incredibly stupid and misguided assessment”.
Reading this gave one impression, watching studio perriot handle this was worth the wait. Time Kubo is proof that your greatest success and triumph lies after your greatest fall. As a bleach reader 10 yrs in the wait my expectations were eclipsed.
Everytime Kenny is on screen doing something crazy I'm reminded for some reason Levi screaming the name Kenny out 😂😂😂
Hearing Unohana say "Bankai" is literally a chill down the spine.
How’d nobody peep the “it’s morbin time” they put over the “Bankai” 😭😂😂
Damn both Yamamoto and Unohana Bankai are so villainous and explains why they haven't used it before because it usually is dangerous for the user and the people in the vicinity.
What?
Dude.. they've both used their Bankai's before ...
They're not the only ones with bankai's like that

Remind me why she never participated in the quincy invasion? Squad 4 sitting out makes sense but Unohana? Hell nah. Like imagine if she had actually contributed in that whole fiasco. So many shinigami might have lived through it and wouldn't have to needlessly die.
Also whats the point in her dying here? I know they try to justify it with the whole there can be only one kenpachi but that just isn't a good reason. Sereitei REALLY cant afford to lose someone as strong as her and one of their best healers on top of that.
I love bleach but man the writing around Unohana is a mess lmao 🤣

It’s even unsaid in the manga but we don’t actually know what her Bankai is or the specifics of its abilities, *BUT* it’s best described like this:
She can summon and use *SUPER* powerful acid that looks a lot like blood.
Also, she’s not killing him. If he was really dead then there’s no going back from that. She’s healing him on the *brink* of death.
Also also: *WHAT* ?!! 🤯🤯😱🤯😱🤯🤯 His Zonpacto is a girl?!!😱🤯🤯🤯
Let’s be honest, Zaraki and Unohana are a match made in hell.
Nimaiya is the perfect otaku. He can bring his ideal waifus to life🤣
I love how quickly Ohetsu switches between goofy and serious. Makes for a really interesting dynamic.
Glad to be able to visualize this fight like this. When I read it in the manga, I was so confused on what her bankai actually did.
RIP Yachiru Unohana, the GOAT.
Kenpachi a masochist confirmed. Bro did anything so that he could feel true pain.
Next eps gonna be one of the best backstories in Bleach. It was pretty sad😔
“Im going for the parry’s, it’s more clutch” 😂🤣😂🤣
2:48 Dude is literally Kid Buu of a Soul Reaper. That's how dangerous he was.
Kenpachi : BANKAI!!!
”SLIM SHADY!!!”
3:46 When she said "It's Morbin Time", I felt that.
Unohana gave some real Souls boss vibes when she hit that Phase II (Bankai). And I mean, the hidden, optional hardest boss-type vibes. Malenia?
That battle was everything people waited for. It was everything people fought for, since now 10 years.
Can't wait for next week.
And passed on the torch to the new Kenpachi.
nah that's just a fan theory. The acid melting isn't true.
The way he talks too during that whole im melting monologue is that his restraints on his power are melting away and that he's finally fully awake and reborn.
..... Remind me why she couldn't heal Byakuya and Rukia again? 😒
I am so very happy we didn't get a half-assed version 10 years ago. I always kept track of any news of an anime adaptation and I was disappointed for so long, but now when it is here, I am so glad that they waited to do it right.
It has been confirmed we will get one hour special on ep12 😍😍😍😍 bleach is fire!
I always felt that they really could of used the healer over more damage in the coming war or found a way to power up Zakrai and keep her alive
@@FordiusNLD her power is more versatile doesn't make sense that they couldn't have just gotten Ken strong enough and been like let's both leave?
The Shikai and bankai have the same name but one of the kanji are different.
Shikai means flesh drop gone
Bankai means all things end
I do stand corrected that it appears according to a video from MrTommo2304 that Unohana’s Bankai isn’t acid based like I originally thought instead, the ability appears to be how her blood is Weaponized, and it can be used both offensively and defensively offensively it can act as like extensions of her sword, where she can strike from a distance, but defensively, it can also be use to make something of a shield to protect her from incoming attacks, and quite possibly the blood that is created, can also be used to heal her
Unohana is absolutely terrifying
Now you know why even way back in Soul Society arc, Byakuya told Ichigo that his Bankai and Zanpakuto don't really seem like they are that. Well, they aren't.
The sequence of scenes was genius this episode. It tells you what Kenpachi's zanpakuto is without outright saying it.
Just some helpful info since I know y’all don’t remember 😂. Zaraki named himself after the district he was in, and named his lieutenant in the same way “Yachiru Kusajishi” her first name from the person he most admired (Unohana Yachiru) and her last name the district he found her in. That’s why he says “Kenpachi of Zaraki” he decided to claim that title by killing the 10th Kenpachi before him who we see in this episode, making Zaraki the 11th, the 8th Kenpachi also fought Zaraki and was probably down there in Muken with Aizen watching the whole battle go down lmao
kenpachi was a monster without even shikai so this is a giant step for kenny
With the awakened partner line shes basically saying know the shackles he placed on himself are off, he can learn his zanpaktou's name hence the voice at the end.
3:45 I liked this part when Unohana said "It's Morbin time" and morbed all over the place.

Did y'all peep how Renji was shown when Unouhana said Zaraki has people that can fight with him now?
Yeah, that's...optimistic...for his chances. Of course, it would be better than a Kenpachi/Ichigo fight, because the former would result in just Renji dying, while the latter could result in half of Soul Society being leveled. At full power, those two are easily stronger then the entire Gotei, and probably stronger than the Zero Squad.
@theprogressivecynic2407 its a fact that they are stronger than the Zero

Ichigo failing the test while Renji doesn't makes sense for two main reasons:
Wow, the one part of TYBW that I do remember Roshi doesn't 😂
Y'all really can't leave my boy Renji alone?

We have seen Unohana's Shikai before, in the 2nd arc. It is this giant, green ray which can float and heal people. Minazuki is the name, like her bankai's.
I can’t wait for the Renji slander to stop 😂
Probably two of the most terrifying and brutal Soul Reapers to ever exist just going at it. My only complaint is that the fight is already over.
We saw how strong Kenny was when he decided to use the absolute most basic swordsman techniques and use two hands. Now this absolute monster has Shikai.

To limit your own power to be BARELY as strong as your interpretation of the opponents power is pretty fucking dope
She didn't let him kill her, Kenpachi surpassed her and that was the main purpose of the fight.
