I like guitar tutorials that start with a demo of the song instead of the teacher rambling on excessively. Justin tells you the right amount of info about the song without rambling. And most importantly he explains it well. Whenever I look up a song if his face pops up in the search options I will always pick his.
He is good but I have arthritis and diabetic now it's such a bummer when trying to stretch fingers and go up and down frets I would love to get it Wright just for a few times love the song and the chords are of great sound
Justin, I first took up guitar many years ago, long before the internet, and I never really got to play with anybody else and didn't take formal lessons after that first year, so I never got any better. I started with Neil's songs because they were "easy," and because I loved them. I mostly just played the chords through the measures. They didn't sound like they did on the record, but I was happy to be playing them. Now I'm trying to actually get better, and I'm revisiting these songs trying to learn them properly. I'm grateful for a teacher like you who, first of all, clearly loves the music, second, plays it beautifully and takes the time to work out each song properly, and most of all, is a talented teacher. I'm grateful for your work and am happy to be a subscriber! Keep it up. You're doing a great thing!
Hey Justin, I would like you to know i have watched your vids for about the past two years and want to sincerely thank you for everything you have taught me. I think you are an excellent teacher. Thank you..
When I kicked heroin I promised myself I would dedicate myself to being everything heroin wouldn't let me be. Now 4yra later here I am learning this song so I can play it at a gig tonight. Never thought I'd be here 5yrs ago
+Anthony Simons you can do it bro. iv been clean so long now I don't even think about getting high anymore . it's like I got my old life back plus beating addiction made me so much stronger in life matters. I don't let the little things beat me down as much anymore. give em hell man you can win
+Thunder Death 2 bro.. I am currently doing the same right now.. Hardest thing ever.. Glad to hear about the good someone has gotten out of it.. I feel there is hope in the end..
I don't know if I thanked you on part 2 already but let me thank you again brother. You don't just play it close you play it right, and that's a rarity on You Tube (or anywhere) frankly. Justin is the man!
Its lessons like these that blow me away when your free lessons are far more informative and the tune sounds closer to the original song than the paid for ones. another ripper of a tutorial nice voice too mate! cheers.
Ive been learning guitar on youtube for a long time and this is the first time I land on your vid. You are the best and clearest teacher ive seen . Thumbs up man
I have dipped into your lessons for some years. You don't seem to age, whereas I do. My head is still with my first guitar in 1975, but the rest has moved on. This is a very nice performance. Thank you, Justin.
Of Justin, oh Justin, oh Justin ! One of my favourite songs and I've always had trougle in transcribing it. Thanks so much. Neil Young's strumming is revolutionary, and that was really a clever idea to make this lesson.
After learning this song, all credit and thanks towards you Justin, I can now impress my dad! Such a Neil Young fan, and still is. His love for N.Y. kind of rubbed off on me, too, and I'm glad for it :)
Amazing. This song is what made me want to pick the guitar and learn to play the bloody thing! After 20somthing years, all I seem to play is this along with Little Martha and Albatross. Now ON to learning how to play the bloody instrument itself!
Justin, great teacher, you keep singing , and showing all the little extra notes we hear and the option to/not doesn't matter Sounds fine either way. Everyone is happy , learning Music. You are gifted, thank you for sharing ( every lesson is fun and like hangin/playin music with Justin ) lets give a thumbs up !
I mainly just play the piano (quite badly, if you watch my vids!) but am trying to teach myself the guitar too, and after watching this vid, I can nearly play this song now. Nice tutorial. thx
Justin, can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy N. Young also, definately one of my favorites of all time. Thanks for all you do, especially the little civic lessons. Peace, JN PS. who are the 7 idiots that don't like this video. Never mind, they are US teabaggers.
Hey Justin, I'v been watching your vids for a fair while on and off. Thank you for teaching me this song. hat a lovely gift you have given the world. I hope you are getting the donations you deserve for the incredibly gifted teacher you are.
this song was actually very difficult for me to learn, since I learned it WRONG over 30 yrs ago and have played it WRONG for over 30 years. so learning it the correct way was difficult retraining my fingers to not play it WRONG!
Me, too! I was accenting the wrong notes on all the fingerpicking for 25-30 years. Sounded like shit. Then one day, I accidentally played it right and wondered how I did that?!
First time seeing this channel and wow. At first I was like, finally, someone who can PLAY this with authority correctly. Then the singing started and I was like - DUDE. Great stuff, man.
First you play the song like it should sound! Fantastic!! Than you show me how to play it, so cleerly and simple .. it's brilliant Thank you .. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your talent of teaching! you have a gift for teaching! many guitarist have talent, but they can't teach what they know to help others.
Just discovered your videos and they have solved some problems with my chord choices excellent watching and I agree keep vocals going puts it in context
This song has such a special place in my heart......even though what its really about. my dad use to play and sing this on his martin d-28 . one of the best things ive ever heard.
thanks, Justin. you play this perfectly. I have played this for years, but never had that run down. I will play it right now thanks to you. great song and great lesson.5****
Apart from your usual Great Lesson this is in my opinion your best ever performance of all Songs you've ever played that continuos right hand rythm is amazing the Key to Neil Youngs brilliant Playing Justin you have out done yourself this time
Justin PLEASE do OLD MAN... you said Neil Young was your favorite but appears you haven't done OLD MAN yet. Please do this song as I appreciate your attention to detail. Justin's the Man!
Thanks Justin sometimes I don't need to know how to play a G. or an E. I already know how to do that but I want is rhythm in the feel of the song Great job thanks
WOW! Great playing, great lesson, great vocals, and wonderfully clear chord changes and fingering. Thanks so much for posting this, You sound amazing -
you are really good teaching and playing this song, is one of my favorites, and i am so grateful with you, Congratulations!!, good luck!!..greetings. Thank you very much!
dude you finally found that song for your voice ...you sounded great on this one besides you are one hell of a player/ teacher ...thanks for all you do for us out here in rookieville
I am of the age where we bought every single 45 and LP, where there were often only 2 or 3 songs that got airplay on the album--it was a crap shoot. No free tutorials, no taped concerts, and no pause button. You had to lift & drop the needle to write down the lyrics and then figure out the chords yourself, unless you had a friend who was better than you. There were classics coming out every single week! (Not just Stones vs Beetles!) Just Google UA-cam MP3 downloads and use Audacity.
dude you kick ass at these neil young covers. guitar is on point. been learning some new things but can't quite get the up and down intermediate string selections. I will be back to reference any of the songs you have covered of Mr. Young.
Great song Justin!! The guitar was awesome and of course we all expect that but the vocals sounded great too. You made some negative comments about your singing in previous videos but this one sounded much better (to me any way).
At 5.19 you mention not playing the 'thinner string', but on the harvest version he definitely does. Also in the intro he hits the open d as a bass note, clearly, 4 times but I'm not sure about the subsequent chords, whether he's sort of travis picking or what - drives me nuts! Great lesson by the way, as always.
man the part over the C is pretty tricky! Great lesson i like this song.. It is funny that a lot of people think playing fast is hard, but these simple walks over the C are way harder than lots of fast blues licks!
I like guitar tutorials that start with a demo of the song instead of the teacher rambling on excessively. Justin tells you the right amount of info about the song without rambling. And most importantly he explains it well. Whenever I look up a song if his face pops up in the search options I will always pick his.
Justin, three years ago I learned to play the guitar with your lessons, and I still think that they are the best of all. Thank you, you're awesome
i remember learning this song 10 years ago, and im still plaing it the way you taught. Thanks Justin!
He is good but I have arthritis and diabetic now it's such a bummer when trying to stretch fingers and go up and down frets I would love to get it Wright just for a few times love the song and the chords are of great sound

+Anthony Simons you can do it bro. iv been clean so long now I don't even think about getting high anymore . it's like I got my old life back plus beating addiction made me so much stronger in life matters. I don't let the little things beat me down as much anymore. give em hell man you can win

Excellent playing. I've practiced this for ten years now and I'm still learning new stuff about it. Very informative , thanks.
I have dipped into your lessons for some years. You don't seem to age, whereas I do. My head is still with my first guitar in 1975, but the rest has moved on. This is a very nice performance. Thank you, Justin.

To date, this has to be the best lesson on this classic Neil Young song. Thanks, Justin.
I mainly just play the piano (quite badly, if you watch my vids!) but am trying to teach myself the guitar too, and after watching this vid, I can nearly play this song now. Nice tutorial. thx
Of all the versions I've heard, I think this is my favorite cover of this song. That it's also a lesson is over the top. Thank you! :-)
