Wow, this is not good at all. She certainly improved--immensely so--between these performances and the release of her debut album in 2002 (which is excellent). Here she is repeatedly off-pitch, but what's worse is her phrasing, which seems random and contrived--like she's wandering around on the hunt for some genuine emotion but only finds some poorly executed runs. As a big fan of her debut, I'm almost sorry I saw this. Also, if this is 1989 and she's 17, that would make her birth year 1972, not 1974 as her bio states. Was she fibbing about her age even as a teenager?
