Really good distinction on the issue of patriarchy! I think sometimes folks don’t understand that. Also love how you broke the sins down.

I agree that the seven deadly sins are an operative way for the patriarchy to maintain the status quo. It is nice to have examples as to how each sin might relate to oppression, it helps me think about real life examples. Though I won't participate with the alternative lent, it is fun to observe.

Great video! The "Seven Deadly Sins" were absolutely tools of feudalism, aka capitalism, to keep the serfs in line. It worked back in the middle ages, and it still works today. My own sloth video took a somewhat different angle, but I still agree with yours 100%. (Sloth was originally two separate sins--acedia and sadness--that got combined, so it covers a lot of ground.)

I love this so much!! I love how you are using your own sin to better yourself..which is what this is all about. I can't tell you how many times I have pulled cards for people and have to tell them to take a break, take time for yourself..you are doing too much. I think it's a problem a lot of people have because like you said, they feel guilty! Can't wait to see everything you come up with in the future using this awesome sin. ; ]]
Ps, I'm never going to say lazy again, I'm going to say "I was slothful!!" in your tone. lol.

LOVE this. Thank you so much for doing so much research. I appreciate this. I also have to say that I have come home from work and asked my husband "what have you done today hon?" Now that I have thought about it that might come from my envy, my chosen sin to explore, because he doesn't have to work now that he is retired. I need to turn that around. I don't want him to feel guilty for having a chill day.

Oh wow I relate to this SOOOO much! I haven’t been diagnosed but I have all the symptoms of adult adhd. I struggle with daily tasks and organization. I always have a (mental) list a half mile long and never have finished. I am going to try your method of 3-5 things AND give myself a mental break (because I also feel guilty and feel as if I shouldn’t sit down because I have 3 children and the house is constantly in ruins and blah blah blah). I hate the way I am but some days I don’t even know what I did because I have nothing to show for it. Thank you for your honesty. I look forward to trying these methods 💜
(I know this wasn’t your main point of the video Lol I do very much relate to the sloth )

Great video. Interesting concept that I’ve never thought about or seen before. Yes, I’ll definitely be doing more research on my own.
Also enjoyed your explanation of the patriarch. I used to go to a local circle and one day the high priestess told everyone that it hurt her feelings when we said ‘fuck the patriarch’ because her husband and her father were good people. And I thought ‘no, that’s not it AT ALL’ but didn’t have the vocabulary to explain why. Now I do 😊 thanks.

Beautifully presented and explained! Would you like to come onto Daughter’s of Qayin to further discuss Sin? Jas and I would love to have you on.

Oh man, my Dad would totally agree with me being a sloth. He wants me to basically be up out of bed at 7 o'clock and ready to go out on the town and come back 7 hours later doing all the things he wants. But, I constantly say I need my rest days, I'm also an introvert plus have mental illnesses that affect my energy levels. I don't understand how he thinks like this.
I think you would really enjoy the podcast Black sheep and Broomsticks and the hostesses individual YT channels, The Witch of Eden and The Heretical Witch. They are kind of all about this whole topic! Sarah from The Heretical Witch has really been helping me for the past couple to a few months with her videos. I totally have called my Dad "Authoritarian" a couple of times do to Sarah 😂🤣😂🤣 She has opened my eyes more to seeing my Dad that way. Like I kind of knew but now I KNOW.
Well I'm thinking of participating and I'm thinking of starting a possible relationship with Lucifer and or Baphomet during this challenge. Work on my witch flame, work on more spells. And just leaning more into the vibe/aesthetic of witches being burned as an empowerment mentality and against the church and why Gays are now empowering themselves through the imagry of going to hell and satan i.e. Sam Smith at the awards, and to commit "sin" whatever that means type stuff.
I might do some of the things that Jasmyne laid out for the challenge but what I said above is my main plan. I believe I got confirmation 2 nights ago from Lucifer to start working with him. I MIGHT have gotten a sign from Baphomet but I'm not 100% about it.
Today I got The Crooked Path by Kelden! I also got a couple of other things but Ya! I immediately read the small part on weather magick when I got back in the car 😂🤣😂🤣 You know me and weather magick 😂🤣😂🤣

Brilliant points - I was so excited by this challenge - I am working a lot with Damiana at the moment for womb healing - so pleasure and comfort feels relevant - I was thinking s*x magick but I love your idea for Sloth - I may try to copy this as I sooooo need to rest and relax more! 🙏 💜

I feel like the 7 sins are real liberation while the 7 virtues are just outright gaslighting 🤣

Great video, I really enjoyed this. Very exciting topic to think about. However, I would certainly be very careful using Wikipedia, as it is not always a reliable or scholarly source of information. The University I went to and many others, ruled against us citing any information from Wikipedia as they deemed it “not credible for research purposes”. The problem is, it allows its users to edit, as its a user generated site… you don’t have to be an expert on the subject to edit the information provided on Wikipedia. Also, the information provided is not fact checked before being published…. Please don’t anyone come for me…I love Tia! I just thought I would provide a little bit of information about the way people look at information gathered and provided from Wikipedia. I want the information Tia puts out to be taken seriously, and I’m just trying to be supportive in a helpful way. Thank you for a lovely video, Tia.💜✨🫶🏻

@@TeiaKennedy 😂 Lol, okay that makes now!!! I was like super shocked when you said that. I’ve just never known you to be someone that sites Wikipedia, because you’ve always, always cited scholarly literature as your sources of research. Looks like the jokes on me, I should’ve known better!!! 😂 Sending love as always!!!
