"Of course you are exempt from this because..." after sending "no exceptions granted" is the most HR thing ever.
Dystopian comedy at its best
"And don't forget to fill your set your 2024 goals and discusse the 23 year end performance review with your line manager. "
Yes, yes, i know. My manager just send me an update that we can do it. We must fill those in, in august. The perfect time to ask for customer, client and collegue review. The holiday season is here for a reason. The reviews themself are done in October. So that is soon.
I've seen an HR department that externalized recruiting and wages to 2 different 3rd parties... So all they had left to do is through in a couple emails a month.
Programmers are also human, but HR reps are not.
HR stands for Human Remains
@@serbanmarin6373 somehow human remains sounds more humane than human resources.
I don't often upvote, but when I do it's for comments bashing HR, because they deserve it.
That's exactly what I thought lol
Somehow I doubt that statement. Programmers are the biggest snowflakes in the company.
*Turns out there are exceptions we legally had to make.
Time for a 9am tuesday roundmail!
Don't make fun of HR. They are good at making a decent salary despite a lack of skills.
Ikr, one of hr i recent become friends with, told she had no idea what she was doing and now managing hr teams amd still have no idea what she is doing
@@vaisakhkm783 The funny thing is that programmers usually don't know what they are doing either.
But yet programmers always end up knowing how to do their work effectively.
HR on the other hand.... Even programmers know how to do their job better 🤣🤣
I mean, it's not hard to make decent money if you just give up morality....
That's right. People used to ask me when I was in HR "What do you HR people do all day?" To which I would reply, "We sit in the ivory tower smoking pot and dreaming up ways to irritate you. And we get paid more than you for doing it - I know because I looked you up on the system".
Congrats, that video just raised my blood pressure :/ No coffee necessary~
Former comedy channel turned into a documentary channel. 😄
The truth is that nobody is entirely sure what HR does or if they actually do something at all. How does one even get a job in HR? Is there a course for that? Or do you just have to be someone's nephew or something? I'm serious here, what are they supposed to be helping with?
Well, to be actually fair they do quite a lot - all administration stuff (that middle management doesn't do) is within their scope. Employment contracts and addendums? HR. Payroll? HR. Benefits within a company? HR. Managing hours via ERP? HR. Recruiting new candidates? HR. Resolving disputes between employees or employees vs a company? HR.
Edit: before sb will think I like HR, not really, I work in a technical position. But I just like to stay truthful to the facts.
HR is for lizardpeople *only*. If you're not a lizardperson, nobody will hire you for an HR position.
@@mllenessmarie funny that payroll is managed by finance, benefits maybe sure, but it's once in a while type of task, hours? in most companies devs log their hours themselves, recruiting new candidates you need actual tech people, resolving disputes is the biggest BS I ever heard of. It's literally murica (and Australia) thing, imagine being so fragile you cant talk to your coworkers... not to mention if you ask them something to do they will sit on the problem for a month and do literally nothing. Also they are usually braindead, but I'm not sure if it's the job that make them into breaindead people or braindead people apply to HR, could be both for all I know
@@DefinietlyNotShiro Sorry, you're right, just checked and it's finance department. It's just, at least in my company, if there are any discrepancies or questions regarding the salary, HR is the first point of contact.
And HR does little if there just too many of HR employees hired. If the number is reasonable, then they have their hands full. And I speak it as sb who works in technical position, so I work a lot myself.
As did resolving disputes - you're so wrong. If we're talking about really small company, then sure, but for big tech? Lawsuits and anonymous tips to labour inspectorate. And in general, if things get heated between employees, then HR fulfills the role of middleman and negotiator.
I feel bad for you, because you clearly had wrong experiences and such perception of the whole group. I can assure you there are companies that have good both HR and recruitment teams.
@@DefinietlyNotShiro payroll is not managed by finance. finance reports to a CFO whereas HR reports to a CPCO. payroll is also tied to the HRIS system, which falls under the HR systems scope. u clearly either have no idea what ur talking about or u work for a company with 3 employees working out of a broom closet if u dont think there are any issues with everyone logging their own hours in a company with thousands of rostered employees. also a company of that size processes hundreds of contract variations every pay period - which are legally binding documents. also why would u ask someone to spend half their day finding and vetting a new recruit when they have an actual role to fulfil? i can tell by your attitude that if you tried to resolve an issue with a disgruntled employee that whatever mickey mouse company you work for would be sued for every cent they have. if u think people services is a brain dead sector of the company then you have literally no idea how the corporate world works
I like that the Monday morning break is 6 hours long
Used to work for a company that clocked you whenever you stepped out of the office and sent automated emails to your boss if you ever had
And then he still goes home at 15:00. Gold.
Short and empty video, like HR job.
Imagine being the smartest fastest sperm cell just to work hr.
That's the most busy HR i have ever seen
So unrealistic, didn't even performance review and fired someone.
I hope HR departments will get replaced by AI soon
please be more careful with what you wish for, you goddamn lunatic :)
It would be unethical to create hr.
That is impossible dude ai can't be empathetic 😂
This is a job of managing humans and you want an ai to do that you seriously lack some basic understanding of the world but if you were joking then it is funny 🤣.
@@Chickenspunk >AI can't be empathetic.
Well, AI is the perfect fit for the position then!
@@kuklochai6012 💀🚬🚬
I hate the idea of HR.
Don't forget the part where they're hiring newly graduated devs but only ones with 10 years of experience in a framework that's only 2 years old. :v
It's not HR writing those requirements, I promise you.
I love this channel.
My favorite video is the "postdoc python developer" video which is basically: "Ehm..Machine Learning, oh this is AI, Big Data, NLP, Data Science..ehm...Computer Vision...oh yeah, I've learned all of these on medium" 💀
Nothing tops the Senior Javascript interview where he says "In javascript you never know what type a variable is. That's why we use Typescript... and we STILL don't know what type it is!"
Post Doc Junior Python developer 😂😅
Hold on for a sec...
How do other languages learn to program? 😮
#sarcasm
????????@@dec13666
@@Mark1Mach2Laugh all you want but I personally know a post doc junior devops engineer. Apparently academia isn't all that it's drummed up to be...
well, jokes aside, In defense.
I have seen many HRs.
we have to admit.

.
They do nothing.
Love the new style!
*corporate sigh* 😂
Have you looked at the time stamp? His "morning break" took 6.5 hours! Then he put the guy on hold for 30 minutes before finishing early!
That's actually quite accurate for many HR's.
I remember just messaging many HR people and I also get a response the day after.
Even when I responded almost imminently
When HR says "Enough work for today" I get confused.
I hate so much about the things you choose to be
Toby flenderson
Oh gawd no no NOOOOOOO
This made me so violent lol
Human Reprobates
can't appreciate more, all the HR around there putting their heart and soul to ridicule their employee.
It's sad how non technical people are assigned to select a candidate who can't even pronounce the technical words in resume.
Do not read HR emails
Hide HR teams messages
Do not respond to HR employees
I had two different job offers for two embedded developer positions. I had to decline one, and the reason was HR.
Lol the monitor in use is perhaps the funniest thing about this vid.
Who else wants a sequel with an Azuros Cloudapi???
You need whole team to record that
Make a video about a day in a life of a LinkedIn influencer
This style is more surreal! I like it! Maybe it can turn into aome kind of jokehorror one day....
Let's be clear here: HR reps have a pretty thankless job. Believe me, those in-office mandates didn't come from them, they were just the ones delivering the announcements.
The sole reason they exist is to support the bullshit. They add no value.
But the announcement isn't until the 3rd.
Clarification the announcement isn't until the 13th of 2022.
This is waaay to accurate with the repeated round mails to everyone with the small corrections
This new analog horror format is really scary.
i still do not understand why do we need HRs
The only time HR needs to work outside of this is with employee disputes and recruiting for roles 😂
🤣🤣 This is accurate
I'm literally in tears
Got three emails correcting another from some small-time university thing a while back... how did they give that guy access to the mailing list? can't write ONE email.
Really can't tell if he is tall or if everything in the room is small. Huge backrooms vibes here
What does a HR do after retirement? Again nothing :D
HR is a special kind of hell.
Unsurprisingly, the best HR department I've worked with was _outsourced_ to an HR services company.
Tells you something
"just post on the HR slack channel for speedy response" HR said, except they never respond to there slack channel
You should make a video about how Job Recruiters.
I'm sure you can send this to a HR person, and he/she will still think they are accurate and the ones keeping everyone happy (which they don't).
I was just super glad to read all these comments out here, thank you
Made my day better
Wait, why you're only working 7 hours?
Male HR employee. 0/10 must be on another planet.
FAKE, noone was fired .
HR "people" be like:
😂 plese dont make this type of videos, i am currently enrolling for mba i am analysing all the specialization of mba and i am also seraching for hr and then i saw this😢
It’s exactly what happened in the big corpo I work for… Return to Office BS, no exception!
so glad i haven't worked for 2.5 years
Better would be an end of "Finally, soon I won't be lonely anymore....."
When I work remotely i have struggle with work balance it’s like always some extra hours to work 😢
Straight to favorites. I actually keep metrics on the number of "careless corporate spams = useless interruptions" I receive daily.
**corporate sigh**
Do "day in the life of HR Giger" next
This video made me tehee
We Software Engineers made tools to replace Software Engineers but not HRs ..
Sad!
now that's tough
I love this channel so much it’s crazy
lmao
Accurate
That's hilarrious xD
moan-day
This can also be a "Day in the life of a not automated QA"
did you work with a real QA before?
Are we gonna ignore the fact that the dude is really tall? Like 8'9'' or something (not good with inches)!
wait... Is it 8 feet 9 inches you mean? 266 centimeters? How did you arrive at this conclusion?
So funny.
👏👏👏
1. HR is usually forced to do the BS of management. Don't blame HR. Blame management.
2. HR's main role is to get people working and prevent lawsuits. Yes. We see floor level employees being crass and inappropriate all the time. Sometimes they get promoted to managerial positions because/even if they were crass and rude. That's why we have policies to control behaviour. Sometimes firing the rude manager/employee means shutting down a whole division. Go figure why people pay HR for having to deal with this crap.
3. If management had their way, they would fire everyone over an email. We insist that management let us do it in person. Most managers are dicks with no respect which is why we often do it alone to avoid lawsuits. We also insist on doing it legally with as much advance notice and severance package as prescribed by the law. No, the law is not the same everywhere. It sucks and we know it. Many of us fight extensively behind the scenes to do it decently and lawfully. You should do that too. (cough, go vote, cough)
4. HR's role is also to deal with shitty employees. While most people are generally fine, you just need one creep to bring the house down and prevent a whole division and manager down. We can generally deal with floor level creeps BUT WE HAVE NO POWER OVER MANAGERS because WE ARE EMPLOYEES TOO. Keep this in mind when the CEO or General Manager takes 6-8 months to hire a new manager.
5. HR is a department of secrets and confidentiality. It makes that the loneliest department because we literally aren't allowed to talk about our job. TO ANYONE.
It is your right to bitch about every department in public. Do it if it makes you feel good.
HR does not have that right.
1. HR chooses to do the BS of management. You are not slaves. Work a respectable profession and make an honest living instead of being a corporate lord's goon.
Maybe don't hire shitty employees in the first place, hiring the "right people" is literally your job. You do understand we can easily automate CV filtration for keywords for possible candidates if thats the only thing you do during the interviews.
6. uninstall HR
Programmers may have been human in the past, but no longer will be thanks to AI taking over. Same with artists
You're a fool if you think that AI can be that much conscious to take down those 2 most creative jobs to ever exist
You lack (self)-respect
*personally find it quite a condescending video*.
Did a google search, sadly no quick pubs data, but was a blog that did confirm from a survey that is stressful (was just a fast check).
Someone to shit on your profession is... honestly terrible. I know, if it holds merit, it should be pointed out. This just comes over as baseless slander.
Free to change my mind. Not a HR lover, just did a quick stat search and personal experience seeing HR operate (set up events, handle employee satisfaction/churn, prepare salary paychecks XML, ...)
Personally I found it very realistic and appropriate. Nobody wants to go to those events, none of the employees are satisfied, and paychecks should be automated.
Paychecks require screening. I personally also am a fan of automating everything. Beside compliance, most ERP do not have an API and good data governance, thus manual human labor is necessary.
Regarding events, yeah. Most do not like it if it is bland marketing. Hated HR interferring "do not say we pay less than market avg". But it definitely can be enjoyable if you talk and inspire others by talking of your own work.
Baseless slander. Years of experience seeing it firsthand. Pretty much the same thing.
*personally find this quite a meme-y comment*
Did a quick look up my behind, sadly no immediate data but i did find some info from a google search (was real quick, honest)
someone to wrtite a comment on the internet defending a random group/job they dont know is.... honestly stupid. I know, if it holds merit it should be ponited out. This comes over as just idiotic
Feel free to suck my balls. Not a fighter im a lover. Just did another quick stat check behind my ear and of personal experience in reading comments ( some on youtube....)
Ah yes, satyre is dead in 21st century
The timecode in the corner is _genius_!
