It’s a GP knife that has the ability to be used to drain cool aid…very organic grip, blade is a Bowie style , the guard actually cradles your hand and fingers allowing for a strong purchase… FYI trenders it’s not a axe, it’s a knife… 6 inch is barely long enough to reach pump and air sacks. Ideally a 8 inch double edge blade similar to a EK commando is ideal for deep tissue. I love the Apache Falcon, good GP blade… for big hands as well..
Sorry, the Apache falcon that I own 3 of is actually a scaled up version of TOPs Pathfinder School knife, that is a 4 inch blade and was designed as a GP knife. This knife is the exact knife but slightly smaller. Many years later the design was updated with a 6.5 inch blade and endorsed by Snake Blocker. Funny how a GP bushcraft hunting knife characteristic translates to a fighting knife. I do like and enjoy the Apache Falcon, as it fits my XXL size hands and its ergonomics,
After looking at dozens of knives for a dedicated self-defense weapon, this is at the top of my list. I wish it came in S 30 V. I prefer silver blades. I feel that psychologically, a silver blade is more intimidating looking. Other than that, the knife is perfect.
I too wish that more manufacturers would implement the use of cpm 3v. It's one of my favorite steels. I also prefer a stone washed blade and while I do know uncoated blades can be more intimidating I would never use my knife for such purposes. If I'm down to my knife things have gone horribly wrong and I'm probably in desperate need, and past the point of intimidation. Regardless this one was purpose built for defense/offense.
You sold me. Good background. Quality people. Well done. Thanks.
