This thing is LOUD! When I make even slight turns, it groans like a submarine under too much pressure and gets a lot of stares from onlookers. What am I doing wrong?
You left out a very important part. You didn't talk about the washers on the head pin. The instructions talk about how different washers to use depending on how many inches. But, inches of what?? The instructions don't clarify.
Yes that normal. When you turn the bar comes off the bracket when you straighten up it makes contact again . Thats how I install them actually no tool needed.
@ottodealerventures9510 For some reason it will not let me reply to your question. So here is what I have, it's is not cheap, bought this from Amazon and it is quality. Performance Tool M204 3/4-Inch Drive Torque Wrench with LH/RH Thread Torque Capabilities - 100 to 600 ft/lbs of torque
Question I need to pick up my new trailer from the dealer and I need a weight distribution hitch but can I just install the hitch part to take it home it’s about a 30 mile drive from point a to point B?
depends on your weight of all equipment involved. the ball part of the hitch without the bars is rated for 600lbs tongue 6000 lbs trailer weight. look up centerline ts manual and front page of manual says so
I just installed this on my Nissan frontier. Empty my front wheel base was 34" and rear was 34 5/8". Now with the trailer they are both 34" and the trailer is almost completely level, has 1/2" tilt to the rear. Does this sound correct? We figured we would have a couple people in the truck and 100lb of stuff in the bed. Also, when backing up it clanks sometimes, is this normal?
If it's clanking, it's working. When it's not clanking or popping, especially in a turn, that means it's lost friction, which is your ability to alleviate sway.

What do I do if the measurement at the tongue in more than 1/4 to 1" higher? My trailer is also 1 inch higher in the front when hooked up to the truck, what should I do?
Just the information I was looking for. Thank you very much.
I did so much enjoy the results! Great job!

Can you bolt the brackets directly to the frame? I have a toolbox that is factory welded to the frame where the brackets go.
Are you measuring the ball coupler to the top or bottom
How high do you set the trailer to determine the load bar brackets?
id like to know why the frame brackets needs to be installed with spare holes underneath the frame and not on top
Is load popping noise normal on these?
Yes that normal. When you turn the bar comes off the bracket when you straighten up it makes contact again . Thats how I install them actually no tool needed.
@@BrianSmith-si4zd thanks bud.. showing this to the wife..

Yes, this is within tolerance.
The clanking is just the friction

My hitch is upside down dose it make a difference
If you are referring to the shank portion that slides into the the receiver, it is designed to go either way depending on your hitch height.
Hello, are the spring load bars interchangeable from 600-800lbs to a 400-600lbs for example using the same assembly? Thanks
Yes, the 600-800 and the 400-600 are interchangeable using the same head assembly
What torque wrench are you using? I’m having a hard time finding something to do those specs.

Better question is why would the frame be higher after installation? Wouldn't that make the trailer be nose high?
