Great list & video. What a year for metal 2024 was! My top 3 were as follows: 1. Kanonenfieber- Die Urkatastrophe Just an amazing blend of heavy, atmosphere, and emotion. I absolutely loved it. 2. Ulcerate- Cutting the Throat of God. They were a new band to me as well and man I'm glad I found them. So crushing and unique. 3. Borknagar- Fall. One of my favorite bands with another melodic & black masterpiece. This has become my favorite album from them and would be #1 many years!

Very few albums from 2024 ive actually heard as ive been mostly buying older cds to complete the collection but id put 1 Winterfylleth 2 Sig ar tyr 3 Necrophobic and 4 Midnight odyssey ( maybe an ep?) easy on top .. lots of good but not great albums but i havent heard Paysage dhiver or Crypt sermon yet ... Disappointment was my dying bride and most funeral doom in general . Nothing at all got my attention ..
Everything's subjective but for me I don't agree that it's been "amazing" year for metal - yes, a lot of solid releases but hardly anything spectacular or groundbreaking
No one said gutteral vocals or " growling " is singing. All these Metal youtubers must of got the same memo . Their top 10 lists are all the same. Yawn.
