This tbh. For example the metro in Cairo, most tourists don’t know it exists. So cheap yes, but could at least charge non-tourists extra. They know how to spend money but not to manage it.
Getting a visa or residency is complicated. Different rules for resorts and Cairo etc. Took me ages to get a visa. Do they not want my money?
The banking system has potential but they try so hard to scare off investors. I would like to open a bank account in Egypt but when I got there they started check points to search people for dollars. 🤷 red flag 🚩

It is always the same in dictatorships. If you criticizes the leader, you end up in jail or killed. Therefore no one will call out dumb decisions. One of the reasons Chinas economy is hitting the wall right now. I know people often complain about capitalism. But capitalism in democratic countries is simply the superior system in the long run. Mistakes getting corrected earlier in a free market. And of course there are things to improve even in those countries, but people sure get more out of it than in dictatorships.

I also wonder if the UAE found natural gas in the Med, allowing them to ship to Southern Europe direct. If thats the case and Al-Sisi permits it, there could be very big problems. Regardless, very bold moves by the UAE. Its reminding me of the very active Italian trading states of Venice and Genoa in the late Middle Ages/Early Renaissance period.

People often confuse land investment with selling. Ras El Hekma is allocated to the UAE for investment, not sold to them. Egyptian law prohibits the sale of land to foreign countries, and violating this law could trigger another revolution. This misunderstanding stems from a broader trend in how land use and development are perceived. The concept of leasing or granting investment rights can be baffling to many who see only the visible influence of foreign capital in urban landscapes.

Between Marsa Matrouh and all the way to the end of Ras El Hekma there is so many Egyptian powered development exiting and even more under construction that sum to more than 15K acres along the shore of the Mediterranean sea.
Secondly The area of Ras El Hekma has had very small developments since King Farouk in the 1940's and has been recognized since then as a beautiful spot with beautiful sea waters and beautiful white sands, so there has always been the concept of transforming it at some point to be one of the most attractive tourism hot spots amongst all the countries and cities overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Houthis have changed the geopolitical field for the better not “worse”, I would argue to to the complacency of UAE and Egypt to the geno$ide occurring.

UAE has been getting their hands dirty in Libya, Sudan & North Africa for years now. Having a base of operations in the birthplace of the Arab Spring helps prevent a sequel.

Now you're feeding your followers BS. Egypt supports the Rapid Response Forces? It's literally fighting them, Egypt and UAE flanking Saudi? They're the same bloc. Even discussing a "naval base" in Ras Al Hekma? Your imagination has gone far and beyond. Trying to make content from the most miniscule event, this sucked. It's an economic bailout in line with their political alliance. Simply put, Ras Al Hekma is an excuse for UAE to transfer funds to Egypt, it has no strategic value, and you will never hear that name again unless you wanna go swimming.

Good points. This video is a bit..... imaginative. Egypt has many investors, for example Turkey is now one of Egypt's largest investors.

I find it baffling that you're trying to compare this development in terms of "resource-less potential" with Singapore. Singapore is at the neck of one of the worlds most important shipping route. Of course that will turn it into an important place that doesn't need resources to be valuable. But in Egypt, so far from major trade routes, without oil or gas fields in the immediate vicinity, I fail to see how that can compare.

"Egypt, so far from major trade routes"??!! Egypt CONTROLS the quickest route between Europe and Asia -- the Suez Canal. BenschiVids gets three upvote for that kind of analysis?

      While Egyptians are suffering....
Al Sisi is building Dozens of Presidential Palaces and hotels for army and Gold Fields and Giving all the positions and Management to army officers and endless of projects that lacks study resulting with a catastrophe....
And when he was faced with the truth he said yes I'm building Presidential palaces it's not for me it's for you
And when he was faced with Lack of feasibility studies ... he said if we wasted our time on feasibility studies we wouldn't have accomplished all of that 😂😂😂
The Egyptian army is like Italian mafia in Egypt 🇪🇬
