Eustachy's loss of self control at the end was an eerie bit of foreshadowing considering what would transpire later on in his career. Heartbreaking to see his wife, who would end up leaving him over his ridiculous actions just a couple of years later. Izzo was even trying to talk some sense into him but you could tell that he wasn't hearing any of it. Just wasn't all there.
If you read Izzo’s lips when they shake hands at 1:25:40 he clearly tells Eustachy they (the refs) have been awful all night. Watch your best chance at glory slip through your hands in part cause of bad officiating and you’d lose your mind too. His rage was justified when the game for all intents and purposes over when he got ejected.
Not really because the game was called terrible both ways. Iowa state was simply beaten by a better team and coach. Iowa state made the huge mistake of trying to play physical with stronger players.
Just watch for first time. Heard it on radio driving to go from suburbs to downtown chicago. Was exciting. Spartans experiance won it. The double foul call was horrible. CYCLONE guy was not let room to come down. 2pts plus a free throw. Then the guy fouls out. Flyntstone kids were a good team. Not alot of talent but good solid players. Peterson was only nba guy. Bell i think played for 5 or 6 years .
Cyclone fan here. I agree that this was the championship game. Tough loss for us. Hats off to m state.
