    Awesome video! I can clearly see the quality behind this product. I've placed an order for an Utra VP 4K 120 HZ virtual pinball machine, and am so excited about it! Your company is at the top of your game. Update: I've had my ultra VP machine for over a month now and it is great! I'm so happy to own one!

    I see you use 3 phase siemens high duty relays. Your wiring is very organized. I build industrial control cabinets and your wiring and quality components make all the difference. I have played pinball in real 3d when you could buy 3d shutter glasses and it makes all the difference in the world. Looks like you offer a high quality unit!

      Our wiring harness is custom manufactured to fit into our unique H-shaped channel, but more importantly we take great pride in positioning our force feedback devices strategically to produce the most realistic force feedback sensation compared to a mechanical pinball machine. Thank you for your keen eye and kind words!

    I would mention that MDF is not a cheap material. It may not be appropriate for a pinball, but mdf is used for 10k dollar audiophile speakers all around the world. Ply wood is considered a big no no when building speakers. So each has their purpose.

    • @RecRoomWorld
      @RecRoomWorld  5 місяців тому

      When we say cheap we are referring to is the dollar price of the material. MDF is a cheaper material, it simply costs less. As you confirmed, MDF has properties that are not as well suited for a virtual pinball machine build. We started out using MDF but switched to plywood when we introduced Ultra VP Model 6.0 in 2022, and we can confirm with certainty that the solenoids and other haptic devices reverberate much better through plywood than MDF (which has sound dampening properties).

      Like everything in life, you can always opt for cheaper quality items that do not produce the same user experience. We have a LOT of customers who start out with the cheap entry level AtGames Virtual Pinball units and discover that they really enjoy playing pinball. Many of them end up craving the true -to-life AccuFeel experience offered on our Ultra VP. More at www.virtualpinball.com

    I wish I had seen a video like this 3 years ago when I bought my cab. It was expensive, but so many of the things this video cautions about describe my cab. I bought it from one of the sellers featured around the 22 minute mark, and the support and attitude I got was just as bad as the person whose post was quoted. Besides lousy build quality, the PC was apparently an old garbage unit that failed completely after a little more than a year. The power supply feeding the solenoids went bad too. I ended up having to hire a local builder to completely rebuild the insides of the machine. It works now, but now the solenoids are failing as is one of the buttons. What I'm saying is, when these guys are saying that a lot of sellers out there are peddling garbage, believe them.

    I started my diy pinball journey over 1 1/2 years ago. It' been a learning experience, but fun. Little upgrades along the way. One thing about building your own is will never worry about not being able to get a hold of technical support to fix an issue. But of course DIY is not for everyone, and there are great benefits to pre built tables as well.

      Good for you. Like you mentioned, building one yourself takes a long time. The RecRoomWorld ULTRA VP is ideal for those who just want to buy a ready made plug-and-play unit, but more importantly want a company that has an AWESOME support reputation as you can confirm on the RecRoomWorld Google Business profile at www.recroomworld.com/index.html#TestimonialsBookmark

    Good afternoon. Great video. Do you recommend 43'' or 50'' inch screen play field please? Thank you
    Accelerometer is really better as the nudge button only? Difficult to configure?
    Thank you for your help 🙏

    • @RolandBuck
      @RolandBuck 2 місяці тому +1

      Hello Antoine... 50" is too big (too wide and a little too deep) and 43" is too small (not enough depth compared to a mechanical pinball machine playfield). If you have the money I would use a 48" LG C4 OLED TV panel. If you don't have the money you can go with the 50". And yes, you definitely want an accelerometer (gyroscope) sensor for true 360 degree nudging; nudge buttons are restricted in a single direction only.

    If your interest is older tables, including ems, is 49 inch necessary, or would a 43 inch be closer to the originals?

    • @RecRoomWorld
      @RecRoomWorld  Місяць тому

      You would still want a 49 or 48 inch monitor or TV panel for EM table reproduction. The reason for that is that those monitor sizes have a playfield depth of 42 in in portrait mode, which is the average depth of a mechanical pinball machine regardless of vintage. 43 inch monitor gives you 5 inches less depth which is insufficient.

    One more thing. I'm not sure if a digital pinball has to feel exactly like a real one. They are different beasts. And everyone also has a $$$ limit. You don't need everyone option under the moon to enjoy playing.

    • @RecRoomWorld
      @RecRoomWorld  5 місяців тому

      Of course a Virtual Pinball Machine should reproduce the touch and feel of a mechanical pinball machine. Why wouldn't you want that?!
      First of all, the majority of popular VPX pinball emulator tables use the exact same firmware code as the original pinball machines.
      Secondly, you are running and emulator (VPX) which is made to simulate the mechanical pinball machine like it was designed on the mechanical equivalent.
      Just because you have $$$ restrictions doesn't mean that the virtual pinball hobby as a whole shouldn't strive towards the perfect reproduction of mechanical pinball touch and feel. And yes, it requires a high-end hardware platform like the Ultra VP to achieve this that is about the same price as one mechanical pinball unit. More at www.virtualpinball.com

      I agree. I love pinball and was thinking about getting one until I saw the prices of them! I’m not a perfectionist when it comes to pinball. As long as everything works, I’m
      Happy. My biggest pet peeve was when the solenoids in the flippers started to go resulting in the flipper not having enough power to shoot the ball where I want it to go. You won’t get that problem with video pinball. I ended up getting the arcade 1up attack from mars pinball because it had all Williams tables. No, it’s not perfect, but for $500, it’s fun to play.

      We have quite a few Ultra VP customers who started out with an Arcade 1Up VPin. Just like you they enjoyed playing it but wanted to test an Ultra VP to see how much better the gameplay realism is. A true statement from one of them "It is like day and night". Of course, you have to pay for it. We invite you to test play an Ultra VP, just call our sales line at 614-208-7780 (Tony) to see if he can connect you with someone close to you who can demo. If you love playing your Arcade 1Up you will be blown away by the Ultra. Thanks for taking the time to post.

    XGC throwing you under the bus with all the Chinese talk. I didnt know your cabinets are all made in China and you put them together. Do you actually put in the electronics or is that also assembled in China and you just tweak them ??? He now has 48In screens and lots of new goodies. Time for comparison video please.

    • @RecRoomWorld
      @RecRoomWorld  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, we're making a comparison video this week. A lot of the things that XGC is mentioning in his new video are reactive in nature. They still have a lot of problems with their VPin, not to mention their huge delivery delays. Stay tuned...

      @@pinballguru If XGC has given you the impression that we assemble our Ultra VP units in the United States from pre-cut Ikea-type panels from China, they are mistaken. This only shows that they are willing to lie to discredit our industry-leading Ultra VP, which boasts a much faster turnaround time than theirs. XGC has a bad reputation online. The fact that they are trying to belittle China manufacturing is extremely hypocritical, since at least 90% of what they use to build their VPins is also manufactured in China. I wouldn't be surprised if even the raw metal and wood they use isn't imported from China. As I mentioned, stay tuned. We will post an official reply to XGC's attempt at "throwing us under the bus," together with some exciting Ultra VP announcements, including OLED ;)
