What a fun video to create! I rented out this newly build cabin on a small local farm for a weekend get away. Not only did I get to enjoy sleeping until the tin metal roof rain sounds, but I was able to help out a little on the farm as well! I woke up feeling rephrased each morning as it was very easy to fall asleep to the pitter patter of the rain on the roof combined with my favorite vintage fan. Which is an all metal Dominion metal fan from the 1950's. These two sounds combined together made for an amazing nights sleep!
I used special lighting and just right shutter speed to capture the fan spinning effect that ended up looking like an ever evolving lotus flower in motion. This can be used as a relaxing visual to fall asleep to before the screen goes dark. I've been getting many requests for a dark screen so the light won't keep you up at night. So here it is my friends.

This is a short equipment list that we use to create all of these relaxing sleep videos which includes, but is not limited too the following. Multiple Go Pro's, A Nikon 7500, a trusty Tascam DR-100 Mk3 for most of the audio recordings in mp3 format, a range of microphones including a Sure 57 for that deep, low end sound. For the final production of both video and audio I use only Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have any questions about how I recorded something, just ask.

Randall, here's a laugh for you. When I took early retirement 2 years ago, I bought an old log cabin in rural Missouri... because that's all I could afford. The roof was in terrible shape, so the previous owners had recently added a metal roof. Every time it rains, I smile as I sleep peacefully. Right now I'm staying at a friend's house for the winter, so I smiled when this video popped up, knowing that I'll get to enjoy the familiar sounds. 😊 Pam

Ive even coverd the box fan with a blanket when its cold. They say that it goes way back to the womb. The sound of being in the womb. Which is a reason swaddling and swooshing a baby soothes them. Altho. I know those who think the fan sound keeps them awake.

You got off a bus early this morning to start your new job. The recruiter brings you to the job site to begin your first 12 hour shift working outside doing a laborious job.
You grab your bag and you're shown to your quarters as it begins to rain. A cabin that looks more like a shed. But you're tired from the early start before the long trip and sore from working with your muscles all day.
You microwave dinner, take a quick shower, switch the fan on, and collapse in the twin size bed. And you've never felt so comforted.

Hey randall, we all remember what it was like as a kid to fall asleep on a road trip on the way home with our parents. maybe you can hook up some contact mics to various parts of a car and do some audio processing to try to recreate the ambience of sleeping in a driving car.
