Just saw 2022, and this remains by far the best ever
Fast transition. High level of difficulty. Amazing stunts. Good dance routine. Nice choice of music. Minor bubbles and falls. Synchronized. ALWAYS REMEMBER that this is a Cheerdance competition not an advocacy campaign! Congratulations NU!
Light years ahead na sila sa other squad, they keep on improving every year, true level 6 stunts. Consistent lang talga ang UP sa execution but lacking sa difficulty. Good job NU!

UAAP CDC is such a fierce competition and serves like an advertisement for the school name as well. Usually nagtatop dito UP at UST then biglang pasok NU lol. Taga UP ako pero mas gusto ko ung hardcore style ng cheerleading dahil sa US cheerleading competitions. Ang layo talaga ng CDC back in the days until NU came in. Agree ako with that person who said UAAP CDC is not a platform for whatever na pinaglalaban lol. So glad NU started this kaya lumevel up bigla ung cheerleading and nakahabol finally ang Pinas Sa International standard ng cheerleading which is more on hardcore stunts and pyramids.

just because they didnt execute their 2015 routine that doesnt mean they cant win. Judges judge base on difficulty and there are judges for deduction which means the final score is Score - Deductions = Final score
It's 2018 and still watching this video. Since then pala, nagta top na ang nu sa ganitong competition. Amazing moves and stunts were properly executed. And i was also thrilled of their perfect performance during the 2018 cheerdance competition. Not just a theme they showed but the synchronization was on point. Congrats NU.

I am from La Salle and so proud to our squad but NU really deserves to win! :) Their dance was so synchronized at ang linis! And yung pyramid nila stands for several seconds di gaya ng iba na pag nasa taas na, bagsak agad. I've seen performances in international scene and NU is such a good candidate. Although there are polishings needed but it is just a "thread". Kudos for the judges on their decision for the NU. To the squad of NU and to it's coach... Congratulations! Thank you for such a great performance! :)

@@AHeranam hindi yun nahulog. early dismount tawag dun dahil technically, nagawa nila yung stunt. nauna lang sila mag dismount kaysa sa intended count.

Pnanood ko ung ibang school tsaka nagbasa ng comments. Sabi nla mas deserve nung isa pero well deserve tlga ang NU. Cheerdance kung cheerdance tlga. Ang linis lahat ng executions, ganda ng choreography and stunts. Difficulty level taas, hindi simple. Hindi lang pangentertain and to express yourself and advocacy ang pnaguusapan 😅.
They totally deserved the award! Ang linis-linis tingnan. They nailed their FLOOR routines. Hindi man kasing bilis ang movements nila sa UP but still they wowed the audience. Tapos in every stunt may EMPHASIS, mapapansin mo talaga. Congrats! Definitely, my new favorite pep squad.

My fave routine from NU! Super! Next ‘yung 2016 nila saka ‘yung Mexican and may isa pa. Hahaha! Basta ito pa din the best!

Surprisingly Amazing, this Routine now that NU performed is on my Playlist, Unexpected Liftings, powerful Dance Choreography, fast transitions, powerful Tumblings, and breath-taking pyramids. UP has already known their greatest Competitor for CDC.
I already watched it multiple times.However, the wow factor is still there. I love this team.Best performance ever in UAAP CDC😊

Some would insist that UP's performance was better. The way I see it, NU's stunts and transitions were the most seamless.
Bakit parang andaming bashers all over the social media? Deserve nilang manalo and i don't see why not. Maging masaya nalang tayo for NU kasi nanalo sila. Yes UP's performance is very heart warming because of the "rainbow theme (equality)", but if you'll just watch their whole performance, NU really deserves to win the title.
If UP's message was to spread equality, Then they should be humble enough to accept the fact that NU won this year and just be done with it. This is a CHEERDANCE competition, not a THEMEDANCE competition. No hate, I'm in for LGBT and such but NU brought down the house.

Is this the year when they had the so-called Pride Flag? I can see that as nothing but a gimmick to gain allies and cheers from other schools. It's like suhol but not in a financial way. I have read years ago all their rants and it's obvious they were using that flag as a propaganda to spread hatred to the eventual winner.

Akala ko di kaya to sa pinas but wow two thumbs up for NU!!. After reading the comments below na curious aq sa sinabi nilang mas magaling daw UP so pinanuod q dn performance nila (UP) bago aq nag comment dito and then while pinapanuod q perf ng UP wala akong makitang espesyal, napakanormal ng routine nila, average lang, magaling oo but not stunning compared sa international competitions. Pero sa perf ng NU huwaw ang galing konting dagdag lang sa sayaw pero sa stunts cool ang galing pwd nga sa int comp.!!!

This is by far the best routine in UAAP Cheerdance history (technically speaking). I'd like to commend the new coaches of NU Pep Squad for transforming the team from a so-so to a champion. :) They are the most improved team in UAAP. honestly. I know it's already given - UP has never been out of the top 3, and will never be - so it's really refreshing to see a brand new team in the top 3. NU is a breath of fresh air. :)
***** Yeah, hindi na boring ang CDC dahil sa NU. Dati kasi, UP - FEU - UST lang ang nag-eenjoy sa CDC. Pero nung pumasok na ang NU sa top 3, naging hunger games na ang pagkuha ng slot sa top 3. Hehe. Nung pumasok ang NU, nabasag na yung dynasty sa UAAP. Ansarap panoorin kung paano mag-attempt ang UP-FEU-UST na bawiin ang dating sa kanila. :D
***** Ako, UP talaga ako. Pero naging favorite ko na rin ang NU since matador theme (2011). Either UP/NU lang ang pusta ko sa champion. Magaling ang UP sa pagtimpla ng routine, kung paano isho-showcase as a whole. NU naman ang pinakamagaling on a technical side, as in lahat ng criteria, tinrabaho talaga. :) Silang dalwa pati pinakamagaling kasi NU ang pinakaflexible sa UAAP while UP naman sa strength.
***** Tama! Good observation. :) Yung galaw ng NU, pang-worlds talaga. Sa worlds kasi, walang hingahan, sunod2 ang buga ng stunts. Ang UP kasi, pang-CWC. Dun, iba naman ang atake. More on stability pati pag-sustain ng mga stunts at pyramids.
Kaya gusto ko ang UP at NU kasi para na rin akong nanonood ng int'l competition. May CWC na, may ICU pa. Hehe. Kung hindi dahil sa NU, walang pang-worlds na kalidad sa UAAP.
***** Malabong mag-recruit ang UP ng gymnasts kasi isang requirement sa pagsali sa UP Pep, kailangan registered student ka. Kumbaga bago ka makapag-UP Pep, kailangan mo munang pumasa sa UPCAT or at least, mag-transfer.
Unlike sa NU na kayang mag-outsource sa PNG ng mga gymnasts, magbigay ng scholarships. Sa UP kasi, gustuhin man nilang dumampot ng gymnasts, kailangan pasado muna ng UPCAT, whereas sa NU, open ang gates ng school. :)
***** Totoo yun, kung gustong mabawi ng UP ang ginto, kailangan nilang maglevel up. UP ako pero aware ako na madami pang dapat i-improve ang UP:
TOSSES
-sa tosses, sobrang ganda ng height. UP may pinakamatataas na tosses this 2014, kaso when it comes to quantity, bagsak. Sa variety din, kulang.
TUMBLING
-yun nga, kung ang tumbling ng NU ay 10/10, sa UP siguro ay 8/10 lang.
STUNTS
-in fairness sa stunts, palaging may bago ang UP na di pa nagagawa ng iba. But then again, pagdating sa quantity, sobrang kulang. Sobrang limited din ng stunts ng UP kasi hindi sila mga gymnasts.
PYRAMIDS
-pyramids, bago lagi. Kaso mas siksik gumawa ang NU.
Sa quantity lagi sila nadadali pati sa variety. Sobrang limited kasi ng sa UP since di sila gaanong flexible unlike NU. This is also why I like NU. Sulit ang bayad kapag papanoorin mo sila. Hahaha.

1 Bad View on this performance is the bad Camera Angles. I agree with the comment that UP should have won but that is just on TV wise, I was there during the competition and in front NU is really great and they really deserved to win.

Alam lahat ng Cheerdancer yan kahit saan school mo p tanungin. Hindi lang naman to labanan ng concept labanan din po ito ng skills. So stop comparing this two. Just smile

PROUD... kasi ang COACH nilang 3 ng NATIONAL U eh mga former CHEERDANCER ng FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY.. nakakalungkot nga lang kasi bakit hindi ang Alma mater nila ang tinuruan nila.. Lumipat pa sila sa ibang University.. Nakaka walang amor.. PERO ok lang baka Malaki ang offer ng budget salary for Coaching.. Hindi natin masisi malungkot si Coach Jaqueline ng FEU kasi kinalaban siya ng mga Former Cheerdancers ng FEU CHEERING SQUAD... Overall magaling sila kasi Hinubog sila ng FEU at galing silang FEU.. Out of the 8 squads, I guess NU was the most entertaining to watch. Ang ganda kasi ng transitions, ang taas ng energy and andaming nangyayari simultaneously. And I guess, it was more uncomplicated and straightforward. Unfortunately, I believe na mas memorable for many yung routine ng UP this year, as always. Well, at least you won the gold, right? Congratulations, NU!

andhereithought you see, i watched the UP PEP squad. It was not boring. The theme had a message, it was memorable which as always how UP stood up for, fighting for social issues Not seeing the message clearly or if you are against the message of LGBT rights and gender equality, may be the very reason why nabore ka.
NU really did a nice job...in terms of technical difficulty and stunts hands down kayo na nga ang nagwagi...but when it comes to the depth and meaning and entertainment yung tipong memorable to the point na gusto mong ulit ulitin panoorin ang routine/ ni rarape yung replay button i guess UP has it. Their routine was innovative, original, out-of-the-box, unexpected and even though di masydong tumodo sa stunts and such still UP is still one of the kind. Dont get me wrong, i applaud NU for the Gold but the Heart and interest of the audience still goes to UP. Eto yung masasabi kong one of the memorable/highlight of CDC history na di pwedeng malilimutan.
well, this cdc is not about the message. its about the criteria. me mensahe nga, wala nman sa criteria. wala din silbi. oo they touch people's heart pero nde voting system ang labanan para manalo ang UP! kung kasama sa criteria ung theme at essage ng routine, malamang panalo sila. so walang ganyang factor na me mensahe ung routine ng UP! they always do that on their routines! trademark ng UP yon! but overall, lvl of difficulties, nasa NU! tapos na UAAP so get over it.

Adamson, UST, UP and NU lang ang pinanood ko ng buo. The others I stopped halfway of the vids kasi some of them aren't confident sa mga stunts nila. Yung halata mong alanganin. Yung tipong takot ka nang tapusin pa ganun. Pero syempre magagaling lahat. Last ko to na pinanood. Save the best for last. And yes, I can say that they are the best. UP too. Their stunts were so amazing, cool and cute, lalo na yung heart. Sa NU, grabe. The flyers, wow galing. How they threw them so high. The level of difficulty of their stunts' , ibang klase. The music well it isn't that good but who cares about the music when the routine and stunts are truly great! (Love this part 03:55)They deserved the title. They are the best!

i can tell how difficult it is kasi pinapagawa ko yung ibang technique nila minsan sa mga dancers ko sa school. medyo mahirap at kailangan aralin talaga. ahaha!

Tingin ko sa UP at NU (setting aside the advocacy ek-ek). Ang UP unang labas pa lang, grabe. Tindig pa lang TATAK UP na talaga at ang linis ng routines lalo na yong mga sayaw, di mo akalaing live, sa tindi ng galaw, parang inedit na yong vid para mabilis tingnan but no, iba lang talaga galaw nila. at maganda ang music. Pero obvious yong nalaglag at sa gitna ng performance nila parang gumulo na, Kung namaintain lang sana. Ang NU naman, parang di sure ang umpisa, first minute medyo off may nauna pang nahulog pero after that bumawi na at malinis na tingnan lalo na yong dance routines sabay-sabay. At anghirap ng mga stunts, pero almost perfect nila na nagawa. Verdict ko, agree ako sa result. Congrats NU.
Actually, nung napanood ko ung sa UP sobrang nagandahan ako sa performance nila suabe lang tsaka walang errors or kng meron man di halata so naisip kong sila talaga deserving pero nung nakita ko tong sa NU mas may power kasi tsaka ang solid ng stunts although may sablay nung una. Sobrang taas ng energy nila kaya siguro nanalo sila. As for their costume medyo nakakairita tignan haha pero pwede na din as long as maganda ung stunts and performance nila :)

Very synchronized at malinis. Hindi ko lang maidentify sang part ung climax ng performance. Either bitin or monotonous na intense from beginning til end. :)

I still can't get over with the aftermath. Be fair enough, guys. Let's be true na sa technicality, execution and stunts, palung-palo naman talaga ang NU. Hindi ako taga-NU or alumna ng mga sumaling universities dito... Don't just give verdict kasi taga-UP ka, taga-UST or FEU, etc... Ang sa kin lang, pagka kasi estudyante ka or sabihin na nating gf/bf, kapatid, kamag-anak mo kabilang sa mga walong universities na sumali, syempre mas papanigan mo sarili mong lahi. Pero hindi ganun e. Obvious naman na, mas risky and superb moves ng NU. You deserve my applaise, NU! Solid kayo!

I can still remember the feeling I've had watching this like it was yesterday. I was probably bored when I stumbled across this on TV or it was probably trending on facebook so I had to watch it. I really was not fond of cheerleading before but something was telling me on that day to just stick to this. I didn't regret watching this as I witnessed the one stunt I never thought was possible to do yet they did. That stunt at 03:56 will always be the GOAT

To people who are bashing NU and/or UP and keep comparing both, this will hopefully enlighten you. Note that I'm a fan of both teams but I think they're Apples and Oranges, meaning they're very different from each other. I believe the bigger picture here is politics. You probably have heard of the politics of ICU (International Cheer Union) vs. IFC (International Federation of Cheerleading).
ICU - is a different cheer org which aims to promote cheerleading as a sport of it's own. NCC is an ICU-organization where NU and most PH squads are part of. ICU is more famous worldwide and have more member teams.
IFC - is an organization under FIG (International Federation of Gymnastics) which aims to promote cheerleading as a sport/branch of gymnastics. In the Philippines, the organization of IFC is (CPF) Cheerleading Philippines Federation which has lesser teams, including UP Pep Squad. But internationally, they have a lot of quite popular cherleading events like this CWC and the CAIOC for Asian countries.
ICU vs. IFC
- They interpret cheerleading differently and have different sets of rules and criteria.
- Both sanction each other that a team cannot compete in both competitions. You can only compete to competitions hosted by one of the two organizations.
- This is most likely the reason why NU and UP make their routines very differently. UP routines are made in a way that it should have lesser rooms for errors because under IFC rules, execution is just as important as difficulty. Sometimes, executions may weigh heavier at some point than difficulty. For instance, a slight wobble or shaky bases will have deductions, throwing all your hardwork for difficulty. Whereas NU with their gymnastics prowess can raise the difficulty because ICU rules most likely doesn't give as much emphasis with execution. It's still part of the criteria but not as important as difficulty.
Compare their 2013 to 2015 routines. UP has to marry both difficulty and execution (form and stability). One of their coaches said in an interview that during practice, if they can't execute it properly, they trim down the difficulty. Meaning whatever you see in competition, it's already the safest they can make, and they actually started experimented with more difficulty beforehand. Whereas NU is okay with a little bit of form breaks as long as no one falls and the difficulty is shown. Just see how trashy some of their pyramids were in 2013. Note that wasn't meant as a bash but it's true.
Compare the Tumblings as well. NU can afford to make double twists, arabian layouts, standing full twists and land in a very unstable manner because they won't care much about those executional errors. Whereas UP takes form and stability very seriously that they just opt for safer tumbling runs as long as it's executed in good technique, good form and stable landing. This is because under FIG rules, even a single step out of balance is already a deduction.
Another good point to raise are the stunts. UP makes only one-off difficult stunts, or one difficult stunt + an easy stunt, then quickly proceed to dismount. That way, there's little room for errors. NU on the other hand can afford more acrobatic moves. There are several difficult skills that they connect which results to higher difficulty scores. However, this results to some bases shaking or some girls wobbling. Although checking their NCC 2016 performance, they seemed to execute this very cleanly, most likely because their athleticism has improved over the years.

After i watch the recent concluded UAAP18 Cheer dance competition no dought that NU is the winner... They improved year by years. No wonder how difficulty there training was, it paids a lot of their effort as this Year 2018 Champion. Congrats NU.
All the students who participated and gave their efforts in this event are all winners! As an spectator (UST alumnus btw) however, I can say that NU really deserve it. Go Bulldogs!
Sa lahat ng nag perform sa kanila.. NU ang nkagawa ng perfect stunts.. naipakita nila ang dpat nilang ipakita.. unlike sa ibang university..may pumalya ..actually,marami talagang palya! but NU is the best!!
