Dude, I really, I mean really didn't care much for these guys until I saw them open for Lingua Ignota at the Stanley Hotel and boy, oh boy. That was a month ago and I can say now that I know pretty much every word to every song, bought the LPs, trying to learn the riffs and dig into interviews/look up song meanings/etc. Fucking fan boy overnight over here. I don't how this happens, but music has this incredible way of pivoting your mind to the most unexpected ear worms that you can't put down. Now with this interview, I've basically never heard of any of the records they talked about here. Time to pivot again. Great interview, great band, awesome people. Can't wait for the Nerver Split.
So cool to hear them talk about meeting Bosse de Nage for the first time bc I just saw them in SF last Wednesday where they opened for chat pile! Incredible show; both bands were so good live. Dallas beltway and Cut live were absolutely insane
The most unlikely of buzz bands, by that meaning they’re loud, angry, intelligent and leave y’all buzzing with vitriol. Definitely more than hype, hyper!
such an incredible band, so sick to see them show love to sebadoh, silkworm, owls and the gummo soundtrack. can't wait until they finally tour the uk :)
I have had such a great time watching this. They mention records I absolutely love and now I want to listen to them all at once. So glad a band this weird and aggressive and bold gets the attention they get.
Great OKC/Norman bands .... Money , Curse the Knife , Limp Wizurdz , Traindodge , Rainbows are Free, Speak Memory tons of seriously good bands ... Shout out to JIm - one of the greatest record store personel to sit behind a counter !
@@descantinginsalubrious Traindodge have been playing shows for about 30 years now in the OKC/Norman area, I think they haven't ever really broke up and have kept a low profile locally. I concur with almost every pick, I confess I don't know all the records. But i sure love the Replacements. I need that Tim remaster. thanks for watching XC
I'm a Tool fan, and I just recently came across Chat Pile. I was instantly sold, full sail. Great band! Oh, he mentioned Owls St. Such a fucking good record. Love a lot of Tim Kinsella's work. Owls st is probably peak Kinsella.

Dude! I've lived my entire life in OKC and just found out about this band a few days ago! Had no idea they were from OKC either! And is that a pic of the county jail for the album cover? 😂
He mentioned ‘In Utero’ and Korn’s debut and I SWEAR I mentioned those two as probable influences. I could almost taste it in their sound. A dash of Helmet as well…..these guys fucking rule….
I recently described Chat Pile sound is like Scratch Acid ( pre Jesus Lizard band) meets various genres of extreme metal and post punk. The guys in yhe band should do a deep dive into Butthole Surfers first 4 records for some inspiration on being heavy as fuck and disturbing without the metal trappings. That being said they should embrace all the metal that comes in contact with them.
First new band that's excited me in years and seeing their music choices I see why. First thing I thought was TAD when I heard them and I love to see them called out here
Thank you for the kind words and tuning in. We love many of the records the fellas mentioned as well
That is truly one of the heavier soundtracks out there. Thanks for watching. XC
This was a joy to watch. I’m just discovering these guys and am enjoying what hear and see the deeper I go. Thank you for posting this!

Oh my god- that sounds like it was an AMAZING time! So lucky!
I really enjoy this intervewer. One of those guys that look and sound completely genuine and actually listens to the band he interviews.
I'm loving Martin Landau's new career direction.

A joy to hear KIDS soundtrack discussions, Big Black/Jesus Lizard and the genius of Sebadoh/Lou and Slint! Cheers from Idaho.
Great interview. The list of albums they mentioned will keep me busy for weeks
