The screen gets darker as your health lowers mechanic reminds me of tabi.
I thought the same lol.
And the error 404 makes it even cooler, and it is somehow cool yet It isn't making the screen darker enough to not see your own notes which is good.

I like seeing this multiple times because not only I get to hear my favorite song again but because I like to find more of the added details to the song.
I realised that just like in the Dabi mod (As I have seen the canned version not long ago) the screen gets darker with the lower the health the "Error 404" makes it look soo much cooler, and it seems to make the timer bar go red too! There is so many details like:
- The window pop ups at the start with messages.
- New colored icons.
-Maelstrom's accuracy being bugged.
- Maelstrom only singing in glitches notes
- BF's ratings of "sick" changing into "Error" and the rating overall appearing in different places.
- The different transition to the last part of the song being different.
- BF getting cut off by an error message making him shut up.
- BF's score getting changed into "Error 404" towards the end.
- Overall poses sprites changed.
- New distractions earlier and more glitch notes thought all the song.
- Health drain.
- More effects mid song.
I also like the added ending of BF just appearing back in his room confused.
Also I never realised that the screen always shakes when Maelstrom sings. I watched back in the original and it was there in the original, I guess I only realised it due to the added notes of the mod.
The glitch notes funtion just like the original? Only having the health drain or do they do something extra as well that you have planned?
I swear I have seen this like 3 times and each time I somehow realise something new in the song that I add to the comment lol. The details are amazing and the colored icons look very nice. I can't wait until it is released, as it seems very fun to play. A good job overall of the whole team.
Edit: (I just realised that editing a typo removes the heart lol. I may as well organice the comment then.) Also I just realised the pun of the background- The icon is of the service "torrent" and the character is called Torrent-

This is actually impossible to not play on loop multiple times. This truly feels like a whole different Maelstrom experience, with all the new screen movement, heavier Glitch note chart, and the climax of the song taking place on your desktop.
Additionaly, Maelstrom is charactarized perfectly, not only having the glitch notes be literally any note it hits (along side strumlines that look like that of Indie Cross dark notes, and the notesplashes being styled after the hurt note splashes), the way their icon floats and the strumlines shake just add up to his threat level, along side what appears to be them having 2 health/time bar colors (navy blue and red).
The shader on BF is recreated very well, along side the base phase 1 shader now not only flashing, but also appearing in the second half. I could go on more, but I think this is enough.

Okay long comment ahead (dw I'll give the tl;dr at the end)
I do love the improvements Maelstrom has gotten, as well as some visuals that have been updated as well, like for starters, the popups appearing on beat
I also love how Maels icon floats to represent how Mael is durin the song, though honestly i feel like it oddly doesn't fit due to how mael isnt(?) floating throughout the song (maybe just a gentle float will do, that's what I feel like would be right but ey, jus my tidbit of advice)
I also love how when Mael is intensely singing (note jacks), strumlines also shake intensely, and i low-key see how it fits, almost as if bro is screaming
Also can we take a moment to appreciate the gamebreaker gimmick when the transparent window is being used? Cuz that goes hard fr fr
O ye also the vvr gimmick of serious icons, can't forget about that :>
tl;dr - Overall very great! The amount of effort flap put into this is very noticeable, can't wait for the full mod to be released!
