A great take! We can definitely start to see the influence of the new additions to the coaching team, including the influence of Jaco Peyper and the side's confidence in terms of regulations and ref management. Looking forward to game 2!

without a doubt! Great point. Siya spoke to the ref calmly, confidently and gave him space - probably Peyper's influence. The whole team was so disciplined too. - Jeremy

I glossed over it in our two recent videos on the channel ('The Irish Move That Broke the Boks' & the 'Let's Not Throw the Boks Out with the Bathwater' videos). Are you keen on more match reviews/thought videos? Thanks for the comment! Really appreciate the support!

Thanks for the comment! Always happy to hear another opinion - what calls do you think went against Ireland? Genuinely interested? I thought Luke Pearce was really good and fair yet critical of both sides.
Like I said, I think the Boks lost their concentration in the latter half of the game and leaked two tries unnecessarily. Don't think that's gushing over them. That Murray try was extremely well constructed. Also praised the Irish for being at such a high level that the Boks have to apply pressure in order to get errors to score.

I wasn't sold on that ref's call disallowing the try. Rucks are chaotic, and to penalise for a leg dragging a ball seems like an over-interpretation imo. Also, having a TMO hyper-analyze the game in real time could be bad news overall for fans of fast rugby

It's a fair observation - A LOT of critics saying the try should've stood because the player in the ruck wasn't aware the ball was there. Everything looks worse and intentional in slow-mo.
Guess this is the problem between reffing TO THE LETTER, or assessing the moment in real-time. Thanks for the comment!
