❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can indeed say that about my home too. I am a recluse and would rather be here on the farm. Usually if I leave here, it is to get building and planting items for projects I am doing here. I get to the hardware store or nursery, get my stuff and scurry back. I don’t understand the rest of the world anymore, so I have chosen to engage as little as possible.
I love your garden..all the beautiful plants..your video is so lovely.your just a special Lady that loves Mother Earth.. ...Blessings to you and Jack....oh l found my Jack he takes good care of me where l live alone..

There is a stillness in the air, Colette, that cannot be duplicated. What a peaceful stroll through nature’s beauty. Thank you and bright blessings 🌛🌝🌜
I've been creating a new garden out of a depleted farm this year. It's amazing how quickly it is evolving. Knowledge of Permaculture has made the transition so much quicker. You have been such an inspiration.
So beautiful! Love the butterflies in the butterfly bush. Jack is such a handsome boy! You are looking lovely in your beautiful garden. Everything is flourishing! Blessings to you! ❤️
When I see your garden, hear your silence, hear your chirping birds...hear your cheerful pleasant voice...see Jack....for that moment all seems right with the world. You have created such beautiful peaceful surroundings...lovely of you to share...thank you
Dare you say magic!?.dare you not say it's magic ,for it is !! We can all feel it straight out of the screens of our devices !! ✨ Oh I could go on & on about why & how your land is magic,so I'll just say this...If you know you know.😉✨ And yes the way the Sun throws around the light is sublime, creating wonderful patterns on the trunks of the trees like flames & subtley warming the woodland floor to share a perfume like no other .... Thank you for sharing ❤️
Loved the long pauses of Jack, not only do I thoughrly enjoy your garden ,woodland and commentary, but to see dear Jack running along in front of you and around, love it!
The light has so changed as it has here in Canada. I always love watching the angles light, they always amaze me with the passing of seasons.. Never bored!
I am now one of those people ( thanks to you and several other beautiful people on youtube) who loves to stay home after the past almost 2 yrs here in Dallas Tx US. I now work from home then go straight outside as soon as I can to create , create , create. My garden has really grown so much and I get so much inspiration from you so thank you so much ! Keep on doing all that you do.
It's so good to be back at Bealtaine cottage with my favorite person and pet, everything is so beautiful, the gardens are full of life and abundance😍.Love and peace to you Sweet Colette and adorable Jack from Texas USA💘🇺🇸😙
I'm always in awe of how much work you put in to rejuvenate that land, it's beyond words. I use to love where I live, then the bureaucrats decided that since I have 3 apts here they'll charge me 3 sewer bills, $526. a quarter, that now reviles my property taxes. So the for sale sign is up, and I too hope to find that piece of land that I can start my own Bealtaine cottage project. I haven't come up with a name for the property, but I'm sure I have plenty of time. Thanks so much for sharing all your hard work, advice and effort you out into your little patch.
I'm reading Deb Ozarko's book "Beyond Hope." A fascinating work about self-inquiry, awareness and acceptance of the human condition. That has been your journey for a long time my friend and Bealtaine is the outward manifestation of that journey. Imagine if the majority of humans were willing to manifest that same compassion and kindness. Blessings....
Good Morning Colette and Jack What a beatifull walk through your garden Thank you Blessings to you and Jack In September I am in Ireland and travel around from Dublin to Killarney....

Your gardens and the insect life are so beautiful!! You do an excellent job, with your camera, in bringing that beauty forth. 👍👍 I’ve been missing you and Jack! So glad to have a new video of your gardens to watch and listen to your insights on this awesome Monday. 🙏 Blessings to you and sweet Jack 😊
This is my favorite thing of the year when the fullness of summer begins its slow gyre toward autumn. The warmth of the sun, the coolness of the earth, the smell of dust and leaves, and that lovely sense you can actually feel the earth turn. Lovely. Thanks.
So true about changing the language of things, Collette. I had (have) 4 acres of sandy field growing primarily daisies. Slowly planting inwards and taking full advantage of what you call 'pioneer trees' to umbrella the long standing trees and bushes we are planting in. Year five of planting! and so much more work still ahead, so many more trees to plant. I believe I came across your website almost six years ago while googling- how to plant a field- when I first bought this bare, bereft land. An inspiration you are! Thank you for the content and work you do.
We are the same, You have inspired us so much and we have planted and planted on our little bit of paradise down here in NZ and now we realise we hardly ever leave - I totally get it - hugs from down-under
Jack is such a good boy. He guards you, no wolves will sneak up on you. When you spoke of the specialization of labor, it made me think how many times over the last few years, I've needed to explain to young people they had the capacity to do thing themselves, rather than hire a "professional." It's a delight when they discover their self-reliance.
I too enjoy getting up close to watch things grow. I have a cement step at the bottom of our deck stairs where moss has grown and now two ferns have taken hold there. They are so tiny and perfect.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful Monday with us all. Peace and joy in the moment of living with kindness and gratitude for all of the blessings of being connected with the environment and nature. This is a great gift and reminder that we all have the opportunity to be present in the energies of restoration and support for the natural world of plants, bees, birds and animals that are wild and create the paradise of a sanctuary for all life and the blessings of being balanced and healthy for the planet and for all of us. Regeneration and renewal with the reverence of our earth. It is so sweet to see the results of your heart's knowledge and the care of the process of creating the habitat for the myriad of life flourishing.
Blessings to you and Jack, and the Earth and the butterflies, dear Colette…this morning I received the books and the maps a few days prior, here in Italy..I spent long minutes dreaming on/in/through the maps and now am looking forward to reading the next books after “A cottage and three acres”…and it is so true that so few of us are truly happy in their “houses” that are not their “homes”…I am miserable in my city flat and trying hard to make a move where I can breathe, have unenencumbered space in nature and silence, and truly reconnect with my own soul and beyond…blessings to all
I love all of the varied leaf colors and shapes. All that beautiful variation for the same purpose, photosynthesis. You are correct, Colette, it is beautiful to see. Jack is one special dog!
I have the tiniest row of maples growing along a fence line. I check on them daily and they are growing! All Inspired by you, Goddess of Permaculture:) I Thank you for sharing your journey and knowledge.
If I were where you are I wouldn’t want to leave either :) It’s simply gorgeous what you have rendered there on your 3 acres. Seeing Jack always makes me smile, he is indeed a happy dog. Blessings on you both💕
I love every part of the year, but this is the best of all. The light and shade is wonderful. My theory, unproven, is that we all love the time of year closest to the time of our birth. Human resources! When did people become a resource, something to be used and cast aside? The fact that money and business are a new god has damaged every aspect of human life, even language. We will be planting out our fifteen rescued oaks next month. They were among a quarter million that the UK government ordered and then we're going to burn because they changed from wanting to expand the English woodland areas to wanting more concrete. I think all were saved and taken on by new tree parents. That gives me hope 🌳.
Yes I love John o'donohue and he talks alot about language and the power of words. How changing and looking at the words u use and expanding this is life altering really 🙏💞
This is my favourite time of the year. It is also holds many memories of years gone by, life changing things happened for me at this time of year, just love the change in season too, rich colours and the morning dew and chill in the evenings. Ireland was once a forest culture, it has less than 1 % of native woodland left. Thanks Collette for your message here.
The cottage I was born in in 1957 had no fitted kitchen or heating(except a parifin stove and open fire)hot water. The cold water came from a well! Outside toilet at the end of the garden...but boy, how very Happy we were!
So Pretty! I've a purple Butterfly Bush in my yard and the butterfly's are just swarming it now in late August. As are the Humming Birds...magical tiny creatures...a marvel of nature...one is at my feeder right now...they will be off soon migrating...kind of feeling sad, as I'll be putting my gardens to bed soon.. Southern CT,USA What a Happy Boy Jack is and no doubt a wonderful companion for you.
Yes indeed you can say Bealtaine is magical and is looking so beautiful in the different light of early autumn. It is interesting to see the woodland change during the seasons. How wonderful that you still have red squirrels in Ireland. Sadly I haven’t seen one since I was about 5 years old some many years ago now. Thank you for a lovely video.
Colette, thank you for this. I dream to live like you one day on a permaculture homestead. You inspire me deeply to continue to water the seeds of my dreams, bless you.
Love the visuals. Volume though seems to be much lower that in the earlier years. I have my volume at the top on my device and other channels blare at that setting. Blessings on ye and he.
What a beautiful scene here nothing like a breathtaking garden you've created out in mother nature with your love and creativity and Jack is so adorable😍 ❤ blessings🙏
Hi Colette and Jack, Well that was a very heart lifting dander around your achingly lovely woodland. All that beautiful dappled shade. I was interested in your views on the shift in language and the changes and losses that are occurring over time. I have been reading a very beautiful book by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris called 'The Lost Words'. It is about those words from nature that were erased from a recent edition of a children's dictionary. Words like bluebell, fern, conker, otter, raven, willow, heather and so on. Words of the natural world that apparently children no longer need or engage with. Language has always evolved I know but cutting such words down and out is a travesty. You cant protect or care for something if you don't know what it is. My wanders around Bealtaine give me a huge uplift in a sad and depressing world. It is medicine for the soul! Jack was looking very fit and fine by the way in the sunshine. Bright blessings to you both. x
@@bealtainecottage Exactly! This is how the rights of people, the land and its creatures are eroded. Little by little so that people don't notice. By the time they do its too late to do anything. Bright blessings X
My goodness, your land has grown beautiful, Colette. It's been a few years since I've really been able to keep up with your vids. And, yes, I have trouble with so many of these words and expressions nowadays that reduce the aliveness of things and package them as lifeless ideas you can "own" in a way. Thank you for another special video :) Dave
you're spot on words being used in a pernicious way - my employer used to have a Personnel dept - then it became Human Resources - and now it's the awful Human Capital Strategies
@@bealtainecottage indeed - and if i may ruminate further, i think one of the most positively divine words in terms of heavenly power and light is the word and name of 'EVE' from the Garden of Eden - and yet we also have the hideous word 'evil' which most unfortunately is impossible to say without uttering the 'eve' sound - oh how one's mind can find so many other plays on words where on reflection there is much more to it than meets the eye
So therapeutic just to wander around there. I can image I’m there. New to your channel and am really enjoying it. Love cottages and gardens From New Zealand.
So serenely beautiful. Thank you for giving us this place of refuge. Your observations about the (mis)use of language in the 21st century are brilliant. I was talking with a friend the other day about a similar thought regarding "industry." For some time now in the America it's been considered admirable to approach leadership using the priorities and vocabulary of capitalism. Now we're expected to manage our businesses as businesses -- of course. But we're also expected to manage our universities "like a business," our churches "like a business," our hospitals "like a business," etc., etc. You can only imagine how my heart sank when I recently saw an article entitled: "Manage Your Family Like A Business." I suppose now our children and even our pets are to be regarded as human and animal resources? If they're less than fully productive, are we expected to downsize them? I could not bring myself to click on that article, and I have no regrets about that, needless to say. All I could think of while watching this beauty and peace was: "Colette and Bealtaine are the antidote to this sick 'wanting more factor' that Colette describes so eloquently here." What would we do without people like you?
Thank you Kes! I remember university being a place of academia, knowledge and debate...now they are all about certification of higher learning, massive debt and ultimate enslavement of the human mind! How did we allow this to happen!!!
@@bealtainecottage An excellent question! My ardent hope is that there is a way back. Because this feels to me like a culture of death. Your voice was never more essential than it is now. ❤
I have a small oak tree...my husband salvaged it with the acorn still attached. I still have it in a pot, and it now has 6 leaves. How large are yours when you set them in the ground
What is on that field next to your driveway? Is it corn or a meadow? Maybe you‘d like to show us what is next to your realm. I enjoyed watching the walk down the lane etc.
just watched a video by hovercamera the latest selfie, loud background music. twee little boxes manicured gardens, but no character. it's becoming same old same old. but, it did manage to include some of the surrounding topography. thank god, your videos, have character and a point to them
I feel the same way. Culture has been changed to industry. Farming culture, music culture, etc. has been changed to 'make a profit' instead of 'family' mentality. Very sad.
Oh Colette 🌳 a wonderful morning walk with happy Jack x thank you so much and blessings to you both x 🌱🌿🍀💞

New to your channel and am really enjoying it. Love cottages and gardens
From New Zealand.
I am planting out an acre of mostly native forest. I love your videos as they assure me I’m on the right track.💚🤍💚 thank you.
So serenely beautiful. Thank you for giving us this place of refuge.
Your observations about the (mis)use of language in the 21st century are brilliant. I was talking with a friend the other day about a similar thought regarding "industry."
For some time now in the America it's been considered admirable to approach leadership using the priorities and vocabulary of capitalism. Now we're expected to manage our businesses as businesses -- of course. But we're also expected to manage our universities "like a business," our churches "like a business," our hospitals "like a business," etc., etc. You can only imagine how my heart sank when I recently saw an article entitled: "Manage Your Family Like A Business."
I suppose now our children and even our pets are to be regarded as human and animal resources?
@@bealtainecottage you speak the truth!!!! thank you.
I have a small oak tree...my husband salvaged it with the acorn still attached. I still have it in a pot, and it now has 6 leaves. How large are yours when you set them in the ground
About 2-3ft high.
Very sad.
Bealtaine...puede dar la opción de los subtítulos en español. Gracias...
I hope you have some one with your morals and dedication to leave your beautiful woods to kiss 😘 for jack xx
