If you took that drive arm and redesigned the end of it to push water one way or the other it could move by itself, if you had it push the stream to the left it would rotate forward, to the right it would move backwards.

It would rotate if they took that metal arm and put a drive vane on the end of it and made it push water to the left , would be like a big gun then, just a smaller version of it

​​@@NelsonBigGunP200Fan it seem useless bcz not a straight line is efficiently irrigated , i have same problem i need sprinkler which throw water in straight line bcz i have 10 to 20 feet wide and 300 to 500 long fields so straight line impact sprinkler is best option for me our field in hills terrace type lands
