As a child I witnessed my mother cheating behind my dads back while he was over seas. Being told “Dont tell your dad” and not understanding why as a kid. In the Egyptian army if you are a "Jodie" (we don't really have a slang for it like you do) you get officially discharged, and thrown into prison for 4 years minimum. You also face a lot of "unofficial" punishments. I think it's a good system, such a thing is rare for us.

While stationed at an Army base in the Midwest, As an MP I responded to a situation where the husband a Master Sgt, caught his wife with another soldier , who was younger and more endowed than him, Sarge flipped out pulled a weapon and held them both hostage for hours ,He finally killed them then did his self, these stories are not always funny when they end sadly !!!
I was in the army from age 18-21 (1994-1997), stationed in Germany.
Military bases are comprised of countless men and women of different cultures, ages, races, etc from everywhere imaginable in the U.S. who eventually become familiar with repeatedly seeing each other in passing and in bars.
There are soldiers and their families cycling in and out of duty stations.
Wives befriend one another and become hangout buddies (almost like high school clicks), and oftentimes influencing each other to do things that may not be in the best interest of their marriage (same for the husbands).
Inevitably, military marriages are gonna be rocky because of the lifestyle where soldiers will deploy for nearly a year, leaving the spouse with the children while other soldiers are still on post.
There's also a lot of fraternizing between spouses and other soldiers because many spouses work as civilians on the military base.
It's not uncommon for 18 yr old soldiers from small towns to have a wife and he introduces her into that environment and they both become exposed to an older group of people who make them realize that they married before exploring the world and attractions to other people.
In a nutshell, there is a rampant culture of adultry that comes with the military life.
But only if you marry at 18 because you want the extra money or to live in pmq instead of barracks/dorms... or if your name is Jodie/Jody.

My wife cheated on me when she was 7 months pregnant with my daughter. I walked in and my son greeted me in the same way as this guys son. Imagine how bad that felt. We got divorced and she married the guy she cheated with. The court awarded her custody and I have to pay child support. I don’t get to see my 2 children. I was in the Marines for 7 years. I haven’t seen my children since 2016. Depression has been a big part of my life because of it.

Situations like this are so disgusting...When my boy got deployed in 2001, he asked me to look after his family. I found out his wife was cheating with one of our other mutual friends. She begged me not to say anything, but I told her that her husband deserves to know and either she tells him or I will...She contacted her husband and told him I tried to sexually assault her...But she didn’t realize our other mutual friend who she had the affair with had already confessed to her husband’s mother, who then told her son the husband... It was very messy.

You have be one of those heavily disciplined, God fearing religious types of people. Who live in close knit communities, that go to church every Sunday and follow the bible to the letter. Thats what marriage was designed for.
But the rest of us are too Individualized to compromise these days, and thats OK. Nothing wrong with that at all.
But you can’t keep that uncompromising individuality and expect a happy/healthy relationship/marriage. Thats something I had to realize fairly recently and come to terms with.
It is hard because humans are animals, specifically mammals and mammals aren’t monogamous. A female’s nature is to reproduce with the most dominant male who can provide the most resources and protection. Once men fully get a grasp on this maybe then we can level up and switch the playing field, make them chase your validation.

This happened recently in my Unit. Man lost three ranks after it was found one of the operator’s kids wasn’t his but that of the soldier who slept with his wife.
Wife also got divorced IMM and left with nothing.

This guy was flown back (his ship was in the middle of nowhere) because his wife got injured. They (staff members) thought that the guy in her assigned room was her husband. When the real husband got there, the nurses didn't realize that something was wrong. They just saw a man sitting against the wall, crying. (He walked into the room and saw them). About 10ish mins after he left, the ward was place on lockdown. She told the nurses that her husband had a lot of guns at home and she feared for their lives (her and boyfriend). The ward remained on lockdown even though they moved her to another floor. I don't know what happened after that. I hope he didn't get arrested.

The military is super diverse. dudes just don't know how to dress because the majority join right out of highschool and get told what to wear and when and how to wear it. As a veteran there is so much more that goes into this. Military men rush into marriage. They meet a girl and marry her after a few months. They also marry girls from high school which usually is always a bad idea. In a lost of cases both parties aren't shit. I've had quite a few married men come on to me while I was a young airman. The men are just as bold they will come on to you while wearing a ring. I had one dude come on to me while his wife was a few feet away.
This happened to my neighbor about 15 years ago he went into his basement and hung him self. She carried on with her life his mother died of a broken heart a few years later.

I have an aunt who was very known in our city for cheating on her husband for years, she or he idk filled for divorce I think when their children were teens, she moved away after that. Lately my grandma was chatting with a sis of her daughter in law and making my aunt some kind of victim by her ex bc he was a reserved guy and didn't like to her going out and have fun with their children, and some BS. I was shock by how my grandma could be so soft on her children (my father was a cheater too) and cover it up something like that, even though she suffered a lot by my grandpa in the same situation. Logically she couldn't say this things to a almost stranger but at least be more reserved about the past marriage of her daughter and don't make things up 🙄
