For everyone saying it’s too hard. I hinestly think that is the point. I think they want you to only listen for key words and figure out the answer, not understand everything that is being said. This is a really useful skill and something you’ll have to do later in the real world when using a new language. By not stressing out and only listening for key words I managed to get almost all the questions right! Take it easy and believe in yourself, don’t stress out and get hung up when not understanding a word, move on and try to understand the context from words you actually know! :)

You are right you need to know a lot of vocabulary and stuff but if you can catch the headlines it is understandable. I would say this is beginner level instead of "absolute" beginner level. Maybe after a while we can understand :)
Yeah. I’m conversational in Lao, which is similar to Thai, and have been studying Thai for a few months. This is definitely an intermediate conversation. Even the speed they’re speaking at is difficult to understand.

You have to screen shot one by one and translate into english or other language word by word. For english is good to use www.thai2english.com.
But have to translate the screen shot by google translate first.

Its not absolute beginners, rather something between beginners and intermediate. I can read and write thai, know 3k vocabularies and the grammar and understand 90% but only if I set the speed to 50% and replay some phrases several times.

A great lesson ! very helpful - ty so much - but it`s not for absolute beginners. IMHO i would define an absolute beginner as someone learning the first 100 words - first 3-4 weeks - after 6 - 12 months(depending on your speed) and if you start learning scripture this lesson is the right one...an exception is if you are a fulltime student.... a small hint for students: start at a reduced speed 0,75 ....
haha i am half thai and ive lived in thailand aswell as speak thai alot with my mum, but i struggled 😅
im half thai half japnese thatgrew up in the west but moved to thailand seven months ago and learning russian and serbian. Im also learning thai obviously hahah but im struggling to the point of crying. this language is incredibly difficult. perhaps more than chinese and russian.
For your information, in English, it is more grammatically correct to say "No, I can't put it by the door." rather than "Yes, I can't put it by the door." @22:09

This is absolutely NOT beginner level content. This is intermediate content. Beginners should start with easier content which you can find on the Comprehensible Thai channel.

I got the first one but all I could understand was "what book does the girl want" and "car" so I chose the book with the car lolol

I cant find absolute beginner. I search youtube for beginner comprehension an thaipod comes up. They clearly have no idea what absolute beginner means. How do i filter out thaipod so i can hear beginner. .
Look up tv shows for young children! They often put easy sentences in it, like "the girl walks to school" etc. it does not require a lot of knowledge yet.

No way this is absolute beginner standard.
I struggle very hard with my listening skills. Even when people say a sentence where i know all of the words. My kind gets stuck translating 1 word at a time and i get inly the very first and last word and miss everything in the middle lol
Check my script. U got the Key words and lot of connectors and native ways to speak. Learning a language must be "agressive". I've only been teaching myself 2 months ..
Me too. Exactly the same. I have swicthed from learning Thai to listening videos to improve my listening skills. I think the problem is you have gaps in your learning and a word comes along that you don't know which is key to understanding what is being said!
Dont let THAIPOD101 allow this to be labelled Absolute Beginner! Maybe if you are Thai , this is for absolute beginners. They want us to sign up with them for a year to learn Thai but are not interested in replying to the same people they are trying to recruit. None of these messages have been replied to by Thaipod101.

at 17:13 how do you get bread and FRUIT from gin khao reu kha nohm bpung? and if gin khao means something besides "eat rice" or more generally "eat food" like a beginner would assume, why the F don't you address that in a video for "absolute beginners"?

This is not for ABSOLUTE beginners. Why do you call this Absolute Beginners??????? I live in Thailand for the last 7 years and have been learning Thai for 3 years consistently. I also speak 3 other languages. By calling this absolute beginners you demotivate any person trying to learn Thai. Building confidence is how you motivate people to learn. This you should know by now after all these years.
