Hope you & George are great, C.
Regards from sunny Marbella 😎✌️
Ps. And playyyy, let the fun begin ✅
Have a great week ahead both. 🌻
And yeah, you're a goat too, assuming it stands for "greatest of all time!"
Unless, you're not willing to share the chicken curry or chilli con carne that you knock out so deliciously, then you're just a goat & I'm sending you back to the roofless bothy for another tarp nightmare 4.0 with camper van solution now off the table completely. 😂😂😂😜 And I've already learnt not to come between a girl and her dark chocolate Mcvities digestive when needing a hike sugar high, so I ain't even requesting that one, I'm bringing my own pack for sure, the buggers melt in pack here though with temp, it gets real messy. 😂
He was indeed. Great adventure thx!🐏🐌🌻
But does he make you laugh? 😂😊
Honest curious question... how many tents do you have at this stage?
Help them joints out, no more processed Foods ❤!🙂
As usual inspirational, I am 70 years old now and carrying a weekends gear on my back is not so easy. Many years ago I used to go backpacking with a friend and we would do around 30 miles over a long weekend, sometimes not even using a tent, just unroll our sleeping bags on the edge of a field (if the weather was good). Some of the best times were August bank Holiday weekend when the weather had come to the point of lovely warm days but overnight the temperature dropped and you would wake as dawn was breaking, and facing the east put some water on for a brew and sit looking over the fields covered in 12-15 inches of mist and watch the sun rising and burning off the mist and feeling the warmth of the sun on your face. Never to be forgotten days. Thank you for reminding me of what I have enjoyed and more that I have missed.
Hi! Your adventures sound so amazing, I'm so glad you got to experience those things, there's nothing like it is there. I try to do what I can while my body will let me, I'm so grateful for all it does for me and the places it takes me 💚 hope you still get to enjoy nature in whichever capacity that you're able. Thanks for watching my lil video :)
I know the feeling my Friend , I have severe C.O.P.D , and arthritis so getting about with a full loadout is nw impossible ! .
@@bobhead6243 It seems we have a lot in common, I also have c.o.p.d, high blood pressure and increasing arthritis. It is sometimes harder to carry a shopping bag home than it was to carry 30-40lb on your back up and down hills for several days, but my friend look at the memories we have, how many people nowadays enjoy what we did, wonderful times. Keep strong buddy, you've had some good times by the sound it as I have, they are some of those experiences we will never forget.
@@andrewchirgwin4136 Agreed , Be Well my Friend .
By the way your beard is longer than mine but mine is wider. Stay good buddy.
Hello from the United States. I so enjoy watching your videos...they bring me joy! You have very kind eyes and such a gentle voice, I could watch for hours. Your country is so beautiful there, not like many of the places here where people don't care about preserving the natural beauty of the forests. Take care of yourself, be safe, and please keep making your wonderful videos. I am disabled now and not able to get out there so I go on these wonderful trips through you.
Hello from UK! Ahh thanks I'm so glad you enjoy them, I love to make them :) I actually live in the SE of England, and a lot of people don't care so much about the suburban forests around here either unfortunately, rubbish everywhere in most places, fly tipping too. This was filmed in North Wales where the majority are respectful of the wild places 💚🌿 hope you're having a lovely weekend!
That's a nice touch Claire by including the camera settings for your great night shot's as it gives us budding photographers a good starting point to go and try it ourselves : )
Yayye give it a go :D ✨️
I agree, thanks for the settings. I always enjoy your night photos and time lapse!! It adds a lot to your stellar videos! Thanks for taking us along!
This was very cool to see the camera settings for those wonderful shots!
@dsims868 Thanks I'll try to remember to include them for future vids, I get asked a lot. Real simple when you get the jist of the settings
I don't want to trauma dump but I'm currently in treatment for breast cancer and your videos really make me feel so light and happy and hopeful. You help counteract my negative thoughts with your commentary and the beautiful footage you create.
Heyy, I'm so very sorry that you're going through that. Keep fighting warrior 💚 Sending love & healing wishes
hang in there...I'm 10 years out and rocking the trails like nothing ever happened! You will toooooo!
Great to hear you enjoy the video's , keep positive! When you beat this awful disease, you get out in the great outdoors and enjoy life! Send me best wishes. Mark.
Amazing cinematography and editing skills combined with creativity and a subtle sense of humor..........Wonderful combination.......Camera likes you too....Lovely time spent when I view your videos......
Glad you're liking the tent. Thanks for giving our gear a try :)
- Dan
The Lanshan series is the most economical choice. I would not choose such an expensive plastic bag. Condensation is a terrible thing.
@@VivienneBlaskovich We have Dyneema tents but we also have our regular series tents with more normal and affordable fabrics. They aren't as light as the Dyneema tents, but they are double wall and still lighter than a comparable Lanshan and not much higher in price.
@@durstongear Hi Dan you make a good tent :) any plans for anything camo DCF by any chance? I'd be willing to invest as stealth is key here in UK. I've found one on trekkertent.com but not quite as light as yours. Zpacks seem to have stopped making them too from what I can see 🤔
@@WildBeare The camo would be nice, but my understanding is that it has been discontinued because the camo layer tended to delaminate.
We are looking at ways to get darker colors. I was talking with the DCF people about this a few weeks ago and they are actively working on it, so I hope in another year or so we can have darker colors.
- Dan
@@durstongear ahh yay that's amazing, thanks for the info I'll keep a look out :D have a nice weekend
Hello! I recently, today actually, subscribed and wanted to say, you are as intelligent as you are adorable. I felt very comfortable watching your content, no distractions or creepy moments. You seem to be quite genuine and have a refreshing vibe. Thank you for posting and I will now catch up on your previous videos so that I will be in "the loop"...😊
The "Ahoy Thar Matey" scared the begeezus out of me! Well played.
😄
I thought pirates were on a hiking trip & jumped out of nowhere. 😂
Me too 😂😂
I thought I was hearing weird sounds.
Make Sail ⛵Mr Christian
Lovely views of land and sky, missing curled up in your sleeping bag is the transistor radio. I loved listening to pop music in the sixties, now its radio 3 or 4, i have always taken a radio when i have been camping, listen to the shipping forecast in a tent in the middle of nowhere, does it for me.
Fellow floppy person here! I really love your videos, and it's encouraging to see another hypermobile human adventuring into the wild. Would you please do a more detailed video sometime on how you take care of your body while backpacking? The fear of injuring myself is one of the biggest things that keeps me from doing more than day hikes or car camping.
I agree with you ...if it was in a darker color say forest green or even camouflage this would be an awesome spring/summer tent.
Forest green would be amazing 💚 I think I heard that the DCF is difficult to dye dark colours. I thought Zpacks used to make a camo DCF tent but I can't find anything camo on their site either which is a shame
@@WildBeare Yes, DCF is a difficult material to dye. This seems to be a common concern with wild campers, at least in the UK. I contacted the company recently on this particular point and got a comprehensive reply from Dan the Man - he is every bit as helpful as others have said! In short, he recognises that this is a thing, is actively working on ways of getting the material a stealthier colour and hopes to have some improvements on the market soon.
Another brilliant video, of course!
That's good to know @@robertpugh8422 thanks
I know that fabric is posh but i cant get over the fact that they look like free corner shop plastic bags
Claire, just a note to tell you I enjoy every one of your videos. You have a nice way about you and I love that you"re always upbeat!
I stumbled on your channel, and not by click bait which I'm glad. Your testing gear with honest opinions and providing valuable info.
Thank you 🙏
I love it when you put in silly voices for things. I’m never expecting it and it cracks me up
What I like most about your videos is the relaxed style. It makes it feel more realistic and genuine. I'm unfortunately not much of a camper guy myself but I feel like I'm getting more and more motivated after each video.
Thank you! :D Aw yeh sleeping wild has done good things for me, helped me heal from a lot of stuff and, well it's just so very beautiful and makes me feel so very alive 😍 would definitely recommend
Watch more WildBeare videos, they are so inspiring. As a long time camper myself up until a few years ago on both organised family sites and rough/wild trips they can be soooo enjoyable. Keep watching her videos and find the motivation to try it, I am sure you will not regret it, in the right circumstances it will create lifetime experiences that you will never forget. Thank you Claire for your marvellous videos.
No one competes like you Claire ❤
I could never sleep in a tent like that in my neck of the woods we have fire ants, scorpions, poison snakes, all sorts of things that will make you miserable. Tents are now coming with flaps for A/C you are quite lucky to be able to stay and hike such beautiful places. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, God bless you in your travels.
Yehh we have it real easy over here in the UK, not much trying to kill us at all. I take it for granted actually, I can't imagine having all those things to contend with! Thank you for watching :) 💚
@@WildBeare "Yehh we have it real easy over here in the UK, not much trying to kill us at all." Except the government!🙄
Luckily in the UK we only have wolves, wild boar, bears and the odd elephant any of which can ruin your day.
@@byteme9718 Not to mention mice, which can chew through the mesh of your tent, and burrow into your expensive sleeping bag - happened to me when I left my tent out for a couple of days to test its waterproofness.
@@BadgerBotherer1 I remember the time in India when a mosquito chewed off one of my legs after it got into my tent. It was big and orange and had black stripes.
The starry sky ... one of the best companions :)
.....a full moon too, last Friday night while camping, I can see shadows of trees etc....making the surroundings very bright, I love it🥰
She has such a relaxing peaceful voice and way of speaking. If She ever got into narrating for E-books for a living I really don't care what the story is about I would buy them all put in the headphones and drown out the world.
Hey there from Maui! My husband and I wait for your vids! Aloha and hugs!
Ahh that's so nice, helloo and best wishes from UK 😃👋💚
Amazing light set up, perhaps for calmer and milder weather. As always you dared test the elements, you are a courageous little package of fun to watch, thank you so much.
Aw thanks! Yes I've got it for summer, warm weather (hopefully 😬🤞) have a lovely week :)
Thank you for the lovely vid,Claire Beare! Your cinematography and editing is fabulous! 🐻🌲
Que vista linda, de filme rs.

"Mordor looking" 😂 Just thought how beautiful the landscape looks when you mentioned Mordor
haha me too :D thought to myself "what would she do if Gollum came around the corner now?" :P
@@sammy_lu552 Gollum would cool, Orcs is another Story ;)
@@tintifax3185 Oh sure, nobody once to meet Orcs on a lonely mountain that looks like Mordor. I bet though we would never see her run that fast :P At least I would lol!
How did wants become once there?
I can hear her saying “Oh hello, Mr. Gollum”, and I bet she’d charm those nasty Orcs into soft, cuddly, sweet creatures.
Always look forward to your uploads 🥰 amazing content xx
Thank you, appreciate you sharing my lil adventures with me 💚
"If you wish to know the divine, feel the wind on your face and the warm sun on your hand.” 😎🌬
Nice views of Taurus and Orion …Have fun stay safe.
Canadian company Integral Designs made the Sil-Tarp years ago. This looks like a direct descendant. Terrific piece of gear, light, utterly indestructible, wind and water proof. No floor….i use a Therma-Rest backpack cot with mine, just to get off the ground.
I always test out my equipment at home before taking it on the trail. A few of the things I've encountered :
- a new tent with 3 zipper slides (instead of 2). The 3rd slide prevented the zipper from functioning properly. I had to cut it off before the trip.
- a stove where the fuel canisters didn't fit. I had to "modify" the stove with a file to make the canisters fit. (it was easier than returning the stove to the store).
- it took hours to figure out the correct strap adjustments for my new pack.
What beautiful views and night sky shots. Claire is a great videographer! Thank you for taking us along with you. Congratulations on the new tent.
Loving your astral photography and your positive attitude
I only watch Claires video's... for the "POP" at the end 👍☺
🤣
Some stars? Crickey! That's amazing.
lanshan2 will always be my most trusted one.
Not the lanshan 2pro though.... don't like that tent... but love my lanshan 2....Take care out there.
This tent is closer to lanshan 2 pro, but at 3 times the price, I don’t think it’s worth it in exchange for being lighter.
I like to use new tents. You estimate its lifespan is 3 years. The price of Lanshan is kept low and it is the best companion.
agree!
I prefer lanshan1, who would really buy a 2person tent just for 2 people? All for one person to use!
I first read the Hobbit when I was 10 years old in 1961 during the summer in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada...
I love the colour, but then I come from a time when tents came in every colour. My childhood tent was cornflower blue, made of canvas (as in, don’t touch the sides or water will come in), and we slept in sleeping bags on the groundsheet, which was freezing! Anyway, I love the colour of this tent, but I do realise it isn’t very stealthy ;)
I have just started watching your videos there great.i haven't been camping in years but i would love to get back into it. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
Hi 👋 another great video, lots of useful information. Keep it up
Take care 🏕️
Top tip....... If you roll the door up tighter so it leaves no flappy bit, it will hold. In even stronger wind, on the non-pro version, I'll peg out the loop on the bottom of the door flap, take the clip off that connects the inner to the fly beside the door tie and roll up the door and inner, take the clip and fasten it to the tie off point that's nearest the magnet.
Ooh interesting! Thanks for this, I'm struggling to visualize exactly what you mean but I will have a play next time I'm out with it see if I can get it tighter :)
@@WildBeare Yeah, maybe not the greatest description. It seems clear in my head but not so easy to put into a servicable sentence?!
I reckon when you've got the tent up to look at, it might make more sense.
I'm almost ashamed to admit that since I picked up an x-mid, my Lanshan has sat gathering dust. I spent all that time and effort seam sealing it but don't use it in wet weather cause of the sag. Another of life's cruel ironies haha.
In a perfect world the x-mid would be the colour of the lanshan, love it.
Hey, thanks for the camera settings. Been meaning to try a bit of astral photography but long exposure is not my typical photography skill.
Hi Claire ,, great little Vid again ,, Keep Safe !
Absolutely beautiful countryside. Thank you Claire
Thanks for taking us along.
So glad the weather is improving... I really enjoy your summertime jaunts.
Thank you from beautiful sunny Hertfordshire" be seeing you in the beauty still to come..
Nice tent, looks like the one that Liam Outdoors uses. If they made an olive green one I'd be tempted.
Glad you got the stars and shared them
Beautiful night skies ❤
That starry sky is so beautiful ❤

Thanks, Claire!! You're the best!❤❤❤
Thanks to you and others like you I did my first wild/sealth camp but I just rode out on my bike and setup off a riverside path. Was really fun.

Wow another great aventure.....
Your photo of your tent and the stars looks amazing
Love your video's! The pics of the night sky are amazing!

So beautiful place
Nice trip, Claire. Nice new tent for warmer weather. You're correct, stake the sides down closer to the ground, it will cut out a lot of the breeze.
God bless and keep enjoying life.
Your captions are an entertaining feature, especially the creative vocabulary.
Being from New England and having most of my outdoor experience in the White Mountains of New Hampshire I'm always intrigued by the lack of trees in your mountains. It's as though the mountains heve been denuded by centuries of human activity. That's probably why ther is so much wind. Any way good vide and a nice preview for the tent. I hope it works out well for you.
Hi bear ,great to see this ,and I hope your camping in this weather rather than the usual pissing rain you keep camping in .happy days .

You camp in some amazingly beautiful landscapes.
I loved watching this, I havent camped for years and now I am really in the mood to go try again this year and wow those photos you took were beautiful 🙂
Hello to the Beautiful and Quite Brave Lady. I have watch many of your camping videos and as an American who camped often in my youth, I am now 83 years, I still heard sounds and felt that something or someone was near my tent these 60 + years on. I hope that you will always be safe from the evil things that linger in the nightness. Be careful and take care. J. Hugh Craft
I have one of these tents. It's the best tent I've ever owned. It's about as close to the perfect tradeoff of weight to features you can get for hikers.
The maker, Dan Durston is great as he is easy to get in touch with. In the first generation of the XMid tent, I sent him a suggestion list of 13 improvements. He implemented every single one for second production run!
Also, you can configure these tents for Alpine and four season use by tying out an additional guyline on each peak. The geometry sheds wind like a champ. The standard model also comes in a version with a solid interior to help with wind reduction for off-season use.
I had my X-mid 2P pitched in my yard for the grandkids to try out. A thunderstorm hit with winds so strong it blew furniture off of my porch. The tent laughed it off no worries, had to be over 50 mph in some of the gusts, proving winter weather is something I’ll try next December. I had all of the guy lines deployed, something I always do because of the uncertainty of weather here.
I have this one (DCF) plus the XMid solid. Love them both so much!
