Phil Rudd in my opinion is the only drummer for ACDC. Despite his issues in the past. It’s awesome he still loves to play and obviously appreciates his ACDC years by his walls
@@scampking23 Slade is great for sure. I agree.. And as Bango McCrash said. The best stand in. Everyone has their opinions ( If we’re allowed these days?? Hahaha). In my opinion...Phil Rudd just has that feel/ Groove and emotion that makes ACDC

are you kidding? I've heard many drummers do exactly what he does after a couple years of playing. I do think his simplistic approach works really in AC/DC
@toddlavigne6441 no, not kidding. Groove and feel is something that either you have, by nature, or you grow into. 30 years of playing out in more cover bands and tribute bands than I can count, you have a lot of "good" drummers who still don't understand the nuances of driving a groove. Having a meter that's in touch with feel at all times is an attribute of a seasoned/mature musician, in many cases. It's more than playing a 4/4. Rudd managed to have a certain swagger and feel -- one thar was noticeably absent or vastly different when Simon Wright and Chris Slade were in the band. Slade had a fast meter. A lot of those songs lost their feel. Slade's strength though was how he could carry or push a shuffle groove. There's far more to playing than just playing the song outright. Mastering feel is something some musicians who have been playing for years and years still don't understand. It took me pairing up with a Vic Wooten trained bassist about 15 years ago to really teach me just how much groove matters. In everything.
@@toddlavigne6441 I know it's been two years but I want to add in the Chris Slade was no slouch. There's a video of him and the band keeping a rhythm for like 10 straight minutes while Angus was working out some guitar problems. His endurance was amazing
