One thing I will say about Sam and crew is they are like the energizer bunny. Week after week they have 3 recipes, never fail as far as I’ve noticed. There are other sites that start out with 3 per week, then get lazy and end of with 1 per week, if we are lucky. Not Sam and crew, always here. Not to mention the biggest majority of them are awesome. Good job boys.
If I may borrow "That's not a knife" from Crocodile Dundee, "That's not a lasagna pan", "this is a lasagna pan:" my mom's lasagna pan is about 4 or 4 1/2 inches high and probably 15 or so inches long. Granted, the lasagna she made every Christmas was massive. If we took a slice it would be taller than the cast iron skillet. All that being said, I can certainly try using this recipe one day.
im the person who still takes it down a notch in health/gluttony and am already looking at it like DAMN that would be perfect between two slices of texas toast for a SOLID heartstopper type sandwich
Hungry Toppers were a brand of frozen snack that included the Breaded Lasagne, as well as little handheld Cordon Bleu and Chicken Kievs. There were some other varieties too, but mainly they all shared their size with a standard variety mince and cheese pie, so could be purchased warm from a corner shop (we call it a dairy) and eaten on the go.
This is an appreciation post for Sam! Your recipes are simple, delicious, and amazing. If I want to make something, I search for the dish along with your name because I know you'll make it the best way. Thank you!!!
Hey, It's the first time I came across one of your videos. I absolutely love your reaction when tasting the food. I can't stand it when other cooks almost fits out when tasting. Do they do that with every bite when sitting down at the dinner table too.
Speaking of deep fried italian-ish food, you guys need to do an episode about the famous Toronto comfort food: Panzerotti. Kind of a deep fried calzone. Man I loved those when I went to U of T for a year and my mates got me onto panzerotti. (So much great food in Toronto we don't get here in Victoria BC)
Reminds me of Olive gardens appetizer. Lasagna Fritta. It’s deep fried and then you dip it in Alfredo sauce! OMG. Heavenly. Totally need to make this, but need homemade Alfredo sauce to dip it in.
Made this 5 years ago in Canada at a BBQ restaurant, with brisket lasagna more of an appetizer cut with marinara sauce dip. Got the recipe from an American.
My wife and I try taking our kids to a new zoo in every state and we can not wait to come to San Diego for the zoo but most of all to try each of your restaurants!!! We love the channel!!
Holy hell, that will be a great application for leftover lasagna. good way to mix up leftovers. I always use a ricotta/cottage cheese blend to break up the density of the ricotta
First time I saw this was from our resident NZer on UA-cams, Andy, and I was in love. Glad you guys are making it. Love that you have a "stunt lasagna" lol.
Lasagna Toppers are a staple food here in Middle Earth! Love them. However you have to find a shop that makes the Lasagna properly otherwise the breading and frying doesn't taste right. And there's a way they have to taste! And yes we have Toppers at our outdoor gatherings. Love your version Sam. Best from me way Down Under!
this could make a hell of an appetizer at a high-end Italian restraint. cut into small strips like he did with the edges, then make them just bigger than mozzarella stick size, serve about 5 of them with a side of marinara for dipping and topped with a little basil chiffonade to add a little green to it for presentation. you could make them in advance and freeze them and then just deep fry and serve.
Oh I just remembered, work on re-creating Denny's Moons Over My Hamny sandwich. News has it Denny's will end up closing all diner's soon. I always order it.
Ordered my Dad the flip 17" skillet for Christmas because he always shares smash burger videos with me. Can't wait to see his reaction. A Knife would go really well with it 😉😅
I had what was called “Lasagna Pastry” at a local Italian eatery. It was a slice of lasagna wrapped in puff pastry and deep fried. Then it was served with two sauces. One side had an Alfredo sauce and the other a red marinara sauce. It was delicious
Antonio Sabia of Artisan Pasta Espresso in Potts Point invented deep-fried lasagna on a stick for the 2017 Royal Easter Show. Sabia created the dish by freezing lasagna, slicing it into portions, covering it with egg mix and breadcrumbs, and then refreezing it before deep-frying.
Sam…holiday season. Been missing grandmas cooking from years ago. Can you tackle chicken paprikash? Hers was the creamy sauce and get this, instead of noodles she served it over fresh hot crispy waffles. Change your life!
Kiwi here. Just put the foil shiny side down. Beats wasting time and money hunting for that fancy foil or the junk spray. On the junk spray note: just lightly grease your baking pan. I use bacon fat but olive oil or similar works just as well. Edit: BTW, I remember this being a way to use leftover lasagna from the days before microwave ovens. In our house, we normally pan fried it rather than deep frying.
Sam could you do an easy cooking tips and tricks video? For example, draining grease from a pan by tilting it and soaking it up with tongs and paper towel. Little things that make cooking more fun/easier for amateurs. I think it'd inspire a lot of viewers to not be intimidated by cleanup or overcomplicating the work involved.
Many years ago at Planet Hollywood they served a deep fried lasagna served on a bed of marinara. It was called the LA Lasagna and it was excellent. Talking about 25 years ago.
Sam! You need to make Currywurst Taco's! Make caramelized onions, add minced beef, curry powder and heat it slowly. Meanwhile make a Currywurst sauce from tomatopaste, dried vegetable stock, vinegar, paprika powder, curry powder and some sugar. After a while add the sauce to the beef and mix. To top it off make a potato salad inspired salsa from mayo, dille, mustard and some vinegar. Add cucumber and cooked diced potato.
You get these at fish and chip shops everywhere in NZ. We are not quite as bad as they are in Scotland though where nothing is sacred from the fryer. Deep fried Pies, Mars Bars you name it.
Yummy cottage cheese. Looked good coming out of the hot oil bath, like deep fried Cod filets but I bet it tastes better. Thanks for your years of delicious recipes Sam.
Oh snap! THIS turns lasagna into finger food for a party! Just cut the lasagna into about two-bite pieces. I've been plotting lasagna ever since the weather started to get colder, but this means I can take it to football parties. Another home run for Sam, Max and Chance.
Sam, can we get a Newfoundland poutine on the channel? Normal poutine and just add, ground beef, fine chopped onions, and turkey stuffing. You'd love it!
I have no idea what a lasagna topper is, but deep fried lasagna has been around as fair and bar food forever. There was a dive bar here that used to do it, back in the '90's, about the same time that deep fried ravioli hit the wider world, or at least when I first saw it.
Not sure if you have done a chicken and waffles pizza yet Sam, but Hungry Howies in Michigan has one. It’s maple syrup as the sauce with cheese, fried chicken, bacon, and cheese. Interested on your take! They also do a maple sugar flavored crust.
I'm seeing this cut into small cubes and fried up for dipping in a marinara sauce for a party appetizer.
And that's why we keep on living, never stop dreaming 😊😊😊😊😊
This comment is under rated! I can see this in my head and want to make it for Christmas!

Wow! That CRUNCH at 7:25!!! This has GOT to be one of those episodes that get lots more subscribers for the channel.
Looks amazing. The only thing I would add is extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping 😁
Exactly
Great idea
The sound of the crunch just makes it that much better

Here in NZ, you can buy these individually packaged at the supermarket so all you need to do is heat them up at home.
Go bloody good after a night on the beers with a coffee from bp 😅
OMG I seriously need this in my life ❤ I'm so glad he shares recipes from everywhere ❤ have a great weekend y'all

That's some serious sounding crunch right there
Well you posted this at Saturday lunchtime here in NZ. So, now I want one and luckily I have a couple in the freezer!

Even just as delicious, puff pastry lasagna squares!!
MOTHER. OF. GOD.
That looks delicious
Just shared this with my children and grandchildren and their response “was can we make it now?”. This is perfect! Thank You 🙏

I can see that being even more fun if you cut it into a mozzarella stick sized bite and served with a little marinara too. Make like lasagna fingers
Looks delish. You can also make them smaller like 1.5" thick for frying so their finger foods.
Your lasagna is how we make it as well. Cottage and ricotta are the way to go. We sometimes add mushrooms.
My favourite order from the local fish and chips shop when I lived in NZ was a lasagne topper and half a scoop of chips, happy memories!
I was waiting for you to make the lasagne in a glass pan
Yum, you should try a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce on the top of the lasagna, it's awesome
My wife and I try taking our kids to a new zoo in every state and we can not wait to come to San Diego for the zoo but most of all to try each of your restaurants!!! We love the channel!!
I always add some parm on top of the last layer.
Holy hell, that will be a great application for leftover lasagna. good way to mix up leftovers. I always use a ricotta/cottage cheese blend to break up the density of the ricotta
handy tip, i find that 50 / 50 flour and semolina flour is more effective for breading, no clumping.
Thanks, tempted but a recovering stroke patient with high blood pressure should resist. Love watching your videos 😊

In OZ our lasagne toppers are just the mince + sauce, white sauce on top the breaded. then deep fried. no pasta.
Love it! Maybe some lasagna soup next??
That bite said it all: it makes you sooooo happy!
I have never heard of a deep-fried lasagna. That is awesome. Thank you for the education!
We've gone full circle. I seem to remember Sam at a carnival tasting food around the time of his UA-cam Livecasts. Good job Sam!
Aussie and new zealander love odd combinations but most of them seem so freaking delicious 😂😂

Best from me way Down Under!
I will bet that having a side of ever day pasta sauce to dip it in... will level it up!
We look forward to each video to see how many fingers you cut 😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ great video
Dunking that in sauce or ranch would go crazy!
2 of my faves- lasagna and deep frying.
I saw this and straight away thought of my favorite Olive Garden Lasagna Frittas 🤤🤌🏾
A recipe I've never seen before!!! I would have never thought to deep fry this. Nice, way to think outside the box.
Never been to Olive Garden I take it

Olive Garden beat you to it. Lasagna fritta is amazing
Interesting. Not sure about tomato sauce based one, but I think this may be an interesting party meal over the holidays.
I also recommend deep frying tortellini
Oh I just remembered, work on re-creating Denny's Moons Over My Hamny sandwich. News has it Denny's will end up closing all diner's soon. I always order it.

Small bite size, great for game day! With dipping sauce.
Next do 'Munchie food' ideas featuring Cottage Cheese in all of them! (Cottage cheese is too underrated, and the people need to know!) 🤩👌🏼
lol! I have both the knives x2 the background, and the towels, love guys, Sam is the the star but chase is my boy!
I meant love you guys, no homo!
1000 times yes to deep fried lasagna!! 19th request for the Mad Mex Gobblerito!!!
Definitely trying the lasagna recipe, whether or not it ever makes to the deep fryer remains to be seen, lol.
Yes, hell yes!! Maybe cut into smaller strips or sticks, think loaded mozza sticks! 🤤
Used to work at a place that sold fried Mac and cheese. Really good with a good Mac and dipped in a good homemade ranch dressing.

When you held up your finger, the wrap blended with your t-shirt. thought you lost a digit.
I’m so glad you showed making the lasagna. Not sure about frying it, but if Sam says it’s good, then I’ll be breaking out the fryer!
Trying this one for sure!

A long gone restaurant we used to frequent, Wholey Ravioli would occasionally have a special of Eggplant Parmesan Lasagna .

OH HOLY FOODGASM!!! Just need some Marinara to dip this in.... or that Ricotta cottage cheese Mixture!
You should lasagna nuggets! Cut into smaller squares, fry, dip in sauce 🤤
Cut it into 3/4” thick slices and deep fry it and then dip it into marinara! Don’t fret about, Sam!
So simple... So brilliant!
I love the use of the “no bake” lasagna noodles placed down into the bottom of the “baking” pan. Ha ha

A 'topper' goes on top of something else, like a Parmi or a feed of chips
I have sauce in the freezer and come ricotta I need to use. I see this in my near future!
Yeah, that is a new one. Kudos to the New Zealanders.....what a concept.
These would be extra awesome if you add crispy bacon strips as a layer of the lasagne. 🥓🥓🥓
Ooo this would be good for a mini appetizer!
Had in Australia for ages. One of my lunch on the run go to snacks.
At our bar/grill we make Mac n cheese in a thinner 1” layer, chill it, then next day slice to produce 1” cubes, flour, and deep fry Knock out
Deep Fried Lasagna, oh god, i can feel my heart thumping harder already
We had a similar dish at a restaurant i worked at 20 years ago but it was penne and Alfredo sauce they called it Alfredo pie.

Looked very good but the center looked cold how can you get the center nice and melty? Where did you get your cutting board I must have one
My favourite thing on the smoko truck. Has to be greasy not dry.
Omg, that crunch! 😋
Best lasagne variation I had like this was from a bakery that wrapped the outside in a flakey pasrty. Give that a burl, Sam!
6:10 Grandchildren said that looks like SpongeBob dipin’ into Sand on the Beach. 🤣
That crunch ❤❤
