One of the most emotional days in sports history, celebrating the incredible career of Gustavo Kuerten "GUGA".
This was the man who stopped Roger Federer from winning the French Open before Rafael Nadal started taking over. - Спорт
Guga was such a special guy. An awesome player who has a big heart!
Here in Brazil he's our idol, everyone respects him as a great guy and exceptional player
Legendary Guga. Great guy, sad his carrer was short
That's right! Aside from his backhand, his effervescent smile & friendliness Guga is the one player l watched who openly showed how much he enjoyed playing. That smile would show and often changed the complexion of the game. When he drew that big heart on the red clay of Roland Garros that endeared him even more to tennis fans. Great human. Great champion. I miss Guga. What a bonus to see him featured here. Thank you Wivo.
One guy l would love to see play again.
We all loved this guy!!!
Even at critical matches he makes sure he's having fun and entertains the crowd. He's 120% Brazilian.
We joke around here that Guga is like a golden retriever, the dude is as loving and as happy as a person gets.
If Guga played today, in the era of social media, he would have haters. There are people who even hate Alcaraz and Sinner -- and those guys haven't even smashed a racket yet. It's just the toxic culture we live in. But yes, Guga is lovely.
Alcaraz is very irritating with his grunting and attitude on court. Sinner on the other hand fist pumping after every won point. NO THANK YOU. I prefer to watch the oldschool tennis.
Alcaraz has smashed a number of racquets and attempted to break his own wrist on the arm of his chair at the side of the court. Yes, Guga would also have crazy haters.
@@mariuszneugebauer8801And you’re exhibit A of people who hate for no reason 💀 what’s old school tennis to you? Hmm? No fist-pumping allowed? I guarantee your favorite “old school” players were a lot worse behaved than Alcaraz or Sinner.
Grumpy old men make up such a big part of the tennis fanbase and it shows.
@@sportslover2356You’re majorly exaggerating wtf. He punched a chair he was sitting in. There’s nothing wrong with that. And as far as I know he hasn’t even smashed a racket, just dropped a few.
Grande Manezinho Surfista. #1 forever for us! Guga Kuerten. 🎾🏄🏽🎾🎾🏆🏆🏆
Nosso orgulho!
Best backhand ever!
1997: First grand slam win using Poly string (Kuerten - French Open)
The Kim Clijsters of the ATP
Such a funny guy !
Wasn't this the player to defeat mr 40:15 in 2004 FO if I'm not mistaken? Yea, he was great 👍😂
I don't understand why zero haters, if kuerten, like any tennis plater, a bad loser is
I hate him
Just wanted to comment the same 😂
April´s Fool
@@rodrigoperez2935 sure..... 👀
🤣
He is great but kind of overrated. His only success in GS is RG. Other than that he didnt pass QF in all 3 other slams.
3 grand slams, the only one to beat Sampra and Agassi in the same event, 43 weeks number 1 in the world, and you say he's overrated? Indeed, there are people who strive to reduce the achievements of others.
@@DanielOliveira-kx9gw overrated because people brag him on hard courts as well lol
I don't really know Guga Kuerten because I started watching tennis since 2003-2004. But I would say he's hardly overrated. In fact, he's underrated.
@@anseinueseima408He beat Agassi and Sampras back to back to win the Year end masters. His hip injury finished his career at the ripe old age of 25. It's utterly ridiculous to call Guga overrated.
@@darrenjohn8524Watch the key word overrated on hard courts. His run in that atpfinal was amazing but he was not consistent enough to maintain that level in GS. Learn how to read.
Because he have zero personnality
I hated the fact that he was from Brazil. Does that count?
Racist😊
Chupa uma trolha então
I'm from Brazil and nowadays Brazilian are being annoying on internet. Many Brazilians keep saying "I'm from Brazil", "here in Brazil" when nobody asked.
@@junior091083 1st. You literally just begin the sentence by saying: "I'm from Brazil" 2nd. Did you read his comment? It has nothing to do with what you're saying right now, like NOTHING to do.
@@RoyaltyBS14 his question also has no meaning. Of course it counts, why not?
2nd: I write what I want. Is there any law saying I have to write what you think is correct?
i despise him
