  • Full run & rules: • Dragon's Dogma Hardcor...
In this segment I complete the Catacombs quest and meeting the Dragonforged so I can then meet the Duke. I also set up a Portcrystal to use later, dashing past some archers. I HATE human archers in this game, its one aspect I feel is very unbalanced. They have pinpoint accuracy and can see you through all barriers, refuse to be baited into closing in on you but just keep shooting at walls instead, and for some totally inexplicable reason do absurd amounts of damage compared to most everything else in the game, quite capable of 1-shotting a Warrior with any of their special attacks. So I prefer to just avoid them in this run when possible.
The sound going quiet for a little bit when re-enter the Catacombs and the Elysian is speaking is from the use of UA-cam's "remove a song" feature to get rid of ads.

If you mean upgrading Savage Lash to Indomitable Lash, of course! I won't need to use it as much as I do here once my basic attack damage increases though. If you mean replacing it with Arc, then no, sorry. Arc is inferior to Lash for a challenge run like this, because there's just not enough good opportunities to use it without pawns or curatives to back you up. For small enemies I could get a free kill by sneaking up on them with it, but other Warrior attacks could kill the enemy even quicker (since don't have to wait for the charge-up time), and for large enemies most of the time there isn't a long enough opening to use it during the fight.
That's not to say its not an amazing and really fun move, and if I were playing the game "normally" with pawns I would replace Lash with Arc. One major issue I have with it though is that you get a LARGE damage boost when you hit an enemy while they are vulnerable (i.e. knocked over) - and Arc can almost never take advantage of that while solo, because there's no way to knock over an enemy and have enough time to actually use Arc before they get back up. Lash is short enough charge-up time you can use it to hit, say, a downed Chimera, to get that huge bonus damage.
Arc also can technically keep a dragonkin knocked down forever if you use it repeatedly, even while solo (but you don't get that sweet damage bonus because it hits just after they get back up if you have to knock them over yourself). Unfortunately, you'll run out of stamina after only a couple knockdowns and, again, without curatives or pawns to restore stamina back, it doesn't help much, and in my previous tests for my BBI run I found I would actually get a faster kill even on a dragonkin by using Lash rather than Arc due to the downed damage bonus and being able to use it much more frequently without running out of stamina.

I will be posting one video per day until this run is over, yes. I've already completed the run (had to do it in one sitting after all!), but I will process and upload one video per day.

DA looks more depressing on PC… maybe it's just me.
The vignette is quire strong though. Maybe that's why.

Right after you make your main pawn, do the quest he wants you to do with hauling crates around and stuff to build teamwork. After that, give him a gift he likes (a foreign knife works, you can usually loot one around the camp somewhere). You can tell when he likes you enough by wandering around the camp and seeing if he calls out good day to you whenever you walk near him. Then, continue until you get to Gransys, and his quest will be on the noticeboard in the inn. If not, you'll have to go back to him and get him to like you more with gifts. You can see me do the whole process if you watch Part 0 and Part 1 of this run - ua-cam.com/video/YD_mxpBJ54Q/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/5jOE1OQKOuI/v-deo.html

fort is better choice because of port crystal and some warrior equipment - helm, sabatons, chain skirt, surcoat. and fun with ballista

Fort takes too long. And I hate it, in general, least favorite "dungeon" in the game - too many cyclops, enemy ballista are annoying since they can see you through walls and can only be taken out by a ballista of your own that can be accidentally destroyed leaving you totally boned, have to wait for quite a while before can actually go inside the enemy half of the fort, nothing interesting about the layout at all - I always thought that quest must have been designed by the intern. The loot ain't worth the risk on a no-death run like this, IMHO.

I think fort is easiest battle quest for warrior) You can complete it faster than catacombs. And, if you want you can complete fort very fast - let ser robert die. Just pick up lever, open gate and wait for ser Robert death.

I suppose so, that sounds kinda boring though, especially on a run like this where every time I mess up I have to start over from beginning of the entire game again. Boring parts suck (the escort the hydra head quest is the worst part for this run for that reason, even though its easy).

Elysion doesn't know how to pronounce inchoate. I just lost a lot of respect for an otherwise cool villain...
