My favorite version of Vandal Savage is definitely his Young Justice version. He's 3 steps ahead of everyone else, and his cool calculated portrayal bounce well off of Klarion's instability
exactly, YJ's portrayal of Lex,Clarion,and Savage was brilliant, seemed like nothing could stand in their way, on top of them being 3 steps ahead of EVERYONE
And also its shown in season 3 that he was GENGHIS KHAN!

Also unlike Ras Al Ghul who can be killed and remain dead as long as he isn’t put in a Lazarus pit shortly after the death Vandal Savage can’t be killed obviously because he is immortal.

Vandal Savage is also stated to be Cain, the oldest son of Adam and Eve and the first murderer himself. He even briefly wore the "Mark of Cain", a metaphysical scarring with a cross pattern disfiguring his face, until he passed it to Renee Montoya.
Which is a little weird, because Cain is also in the Sandman comics as his own character separate from Savage

Vandal Savage was on the small screen before Legends of Tomorrow. There were several episodes dealing with Savage in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. One where he used a time space portal to send a laptop with advanced tech back to a past version of himself to help the Nazi's win WWII. And another where Superman is sent into a distance future where Vandal Savage is the last human left alive, and Vandal creates a machine to send him back to stop Vandal from screwing up the future that Supes was sent to. The last scene of that episode was pretty cool.

Now, we're going back to the 90's. I remember Vandal Savage having killed Wally West, but then some alien implant in Wally gave him a one-time-only resurrection, and he came back even faster. He gripped Vandal Savage's gun by the barrel, while Savage was holding it, held it to his own head, and said, "Would you like to try another six? I reloaded it for you."

Although that would be AWESOME, he already appeared in Flash and Arrow and is supposed to be the main villain in Legends of Tomorrow. It would probably confuse many show viewers
FinalScar well marvel had 2 quiksilvers in movies. I like the YJ savage tho LoT savage seem less intimidating and wise like the YJ. Would prefer to see a better actor playing as savage on the big screen, he was such an underrated villain.

The version of the character on Young Justice is the best incarnation of the character. The scars on the face made the characters stand out. Before that, he just looked like a member of the Hellfire Club from the X-Men comics

You can also see inspiration for the flashy Vegas costumes with capes that Elvis wore in his later years from Captain Marvel/Shazam.
I loved the show Young Justice for introducing me to Savage. The Arrow version of Savage seems lacking and not as ominous as he appears in the comic let alone the Young Justice show.

You know there was a villain on an episode of the TV show Smallville who was also an immortal who had lived for a very long time, As I recall he kidnapped Chloe in order to make himself and immortal bride that would live along side of him for eternity. When I saw that episode I pretty much thought that was there version of Vandal Savage even though he wasn't called Vandal Savage on that episode.

How do the Endless fit into the DC universe? They're not used the same way as what might be their counter parts in the Marvel universe, like Mistress Death and Deadpool/Thanos. But I wonder if they're mentioned at all.
Neil Gaiman's Sandman series is probably my favourite graphic novel/comic series ever and in the first few issues he asks John Constantine and the Martian Manhunter for help finding his tools after being imprisoned for example. Just not sure if this is acknowledged in other issues.
I think the Endless aren’t exactly scaled as the rest of the characters, more so as observers. They’re hard to define as Gaiman doesn’t exactly label them or compare them to anything. The Endless have been perceived as gods, but we know in reality they are in this pseudo-space, sort of like extensions of their domain, which are concepts. The Endless are fascinating.

Vandal Savage with out doubt has the scariest Theme of all DC and Marvel series. When I first time followed Legends of Tomorrow and hearing his theme I get chilled down my core. Always feeling the dread and death everywhere he goes. A true villain to be feared!

Do a independent comic month please. I love locke and key, saga , the bunker , avatar comics, chew etc. Independent comics take chances the others wont. They expand the medium by giving alternatives , thus finding readers deeper interests.

I'm sure you know this, but Vandal Savage has been on the small screen before. The DCAU Justice League was his first appearance in that series. No idea if he showed up in earlier animated series though, but I wouldn't mind betting he had appeared in Super Friends once. Also, if this video's thumbnail is any indication, one of his most recent appearances was in Young Justice. So, rather than say made the jump to the small screen in Legends of Tomorrow, say first appearance in a live action format or a live action tv show? That would be accurate, rather than a bit misleading, as I'm sure you didn't intend to mislead people.

Savage is so interesting! He's definitely in top 5 dc villains. The guy is also a main villain like lex luthor or darkseid who actually pulls the strings unlike a badass henchman like deathstroke or joker.
