After putting in some serious hours, I've managed to piece together a comprehensive racing game evolution video. Taking center stage is the recently unleashed Nordschleife track in Forza Motorsport, allowing us to reminisce over its previous iterations. Damn!! Shift 2 Unleashed, night Endurance Races on Nordschleife is so scary and I get huge adrenaline
Yep. That endurance boss race against Tommy Milner on BMW M3 E92 LMGT2 2011 for 20 laps also can be nerve wracking especially with damage turned ON.

I have good memories of Nordshleife in older games, but truly learned the track in GT7 and golded the CE. It's surprising how seeing it in other games, it really drives home just how amazing and realistic (subtle roundings on carousel for example instead of flat wall on angle, flat road at top) it looks in GT7. Probably my favorite track. Love it.

Enthusia has a REVERSAL Nurburgring. That was a real pain
Gran Turismo 6 also has Nurburgring Moonschleife variant from Spec II Mod.
I like Nordschleife in GT5 it looks simply natural fresh ambience
GT4-6 were awesome but I think Sport and 7 are too easy.

Gran Turismo Sport & Gran Turismo 7 huge difference between all others, I can just see and feel the tires, suspension and car body working through the video.

That's because GT7 uses cockpit sounds for 3rd person view while the remaining games use actual 3rd person sounds. ACC's cockpit sounds absolutely trashes whatever cooked up sound GT7 does.
@@dreadlord2704san I was not talking about the sounds. In GT7 engine and other sounds are pretty good, but still a bit vacuum-y.
@@dreadlord2704san while I agree ACC cockpit sound is really good, GT7 does not use cockpit sounds for 3rd person, there's an external sound used for hood cam and 3rd person, and a cockpit sound for bumper and 1st person.
SHIFT 2 was really fun and emphasized what I really wanted in Racing games, touching a car at 120mph and having your car roll 3-5 times and ripping your car apart made hitting those lines really important.

I like the dusk atmosphere of the Nordschleife in the Enthusia version, I just wish they'd have added the option to turn on your headlights. Yes, I know it's a Playstation 2 game so dynamic lighting would have been a bit much to expect but Enthusia is a game from Konami so they could've used whatever "magic" technique that they also used for the flashlight in Silent Hill 2.
Graphical leap from FM4 to FM5 is still insane

Ps5 isnt capable of 4k 60fps with ray tracing enabled. Most the time it sits at 30 fps and even dips lower than that. Alot of the time ray tracing only renders on replays. But you xan turn ray tracing off and get 60fps 4k which is definitely the right way to play lol ray tracing takes up a crazy amount of resources for a little bit better reflections. Its just a huge gimmick. Honestly, I dont know why it's advertised so much anymore.

Having played all of these, nothing beats Automobilista 2 when it comes to *driving* on the virtual Ring.
Its handling model might be slightly less on-point than iRacing or ACC (and even vanilla AC, depending on the specific cars being compared), but it is by FAR the most fun. Best force feedback. Excellent track fidelity and overall scaling. Really fun handling models.
It also sounds so much better than most other titles, excluding ACC and modified AC examples.
Unfortunately, the joy of it is locked behind needing a wheel (because controller inputs are sorely lacking versus the simcades), so it’ll never register on the radar of gamepad users.

Yesss! May not be accurate, but the graphics fidelity on high end PC is very impressive especially at night time and rainstorm. Looks so real.
Shame the game is a complete disaster and insult to get fans of the franchise

@@noonyabeezniss4911 just dropped a new update, I wouldn’t say the game is fixed but they worked wonders for the car progression system. I’ve been having a lot of fun on the game but to each their own.

God daaamn! For me NFS Shift series are the best with its sound work ! braking discs and surface details noises (@ 4:18 ). but every cars seems to sound the same... I'd admit

This track is utterly fantastic in Forza Motorsport. And the game is very good on Xbox Series X online multiplayer. This is FACT after 300 hour gameplay.

I hate to admit this because it's an EA game these days, but damn...Project Cars seemed like such a promising franchise to stay on the market, it's a shame they gave themselves over to the demons of the gaming world, the feeling of speed, the graphics, for something that was funded by the community is incredible
I must admit that forza motorsport needs to improve a lot, starting with the design of its cars, the more vibrant colors, the lighting...It's incredible to think before its release that I thought it would be the best reference to simulation on consoles
You should make a video about JGTC/Super GT cars in video games, all their appearances in video games, they don't exist in games today, only Gran Turismo has JGTC and Super GT cars currently.

I also collect all (steam) videogames with Nordschleife. Have kinda 14 currently in my collection.
FMs versions are not so accurate as GTs. More accurate versions are in PC sims like AC, rF2, iR, AMS2. I met Nordscleife as a mod for GTR2, then I loved NS in the GTR Evolution, then in GT5 etc :)

AC2 is gonna be a generational game if done right. AC looks the most realistic obviously because it’s laser scanned, but some other games towards the end of the video was ALSO laser scanned, and much newer than AC, and looks & sounds worse than AC

The fact that AC looks insane is thanks to the modding community though, vanilla game doesn't look that impressive.

Wow new Forza Motorsport looks like such a let down compared to the older ones. FM5,6,7 looked great by comparison. GT7 great, so great I think I might get rid of my xbox and get a ps5 instead hahaha.

also noticed how even in gran turismo 4 the cars were jumping on the bumps. in forza motorsport the bumpy ass course is reduced to a mere slide. i play forza personally but id give my pet dog lulu for a ps5 and gt7 with billions of credits
assetto corsa is the best and im playing it all days in sim. But shift 2 unleashed is my childhood great game so inmersive... that time nfs has the oportunity of became a simulator or simcade. what a time
MY Assetto Corsa doesn't look so polished :( but with a wheel feels so real.
The best and most current version of the Nordschleife is available in rF2

The track is too narrow in AMS2, I have done about 200 laps around the Nor split between my bikes and cars, Asseto in VR with a few mods ,Pure, sol etc, is about as close to the real thing as you can get; most of the bumps are in the correct places, I like it better than Rf2, but ACC is getting the Nor in a few weeks. @@EnzoRacer1

Kinda nitpicking, But there's one mobile game that featured Nurburgring Nordschleife called "Assoluto Racing".
Sure, The graphics are pure crap compare to AAA racing games. But i'm thinking it's deserve an honorable mention after all.

the PS3 GT5 version was my most favorite version and no the other versions from the other newer Gran Turismo games are fine its just i prefer GT5 over the others because the physics are perfect for console and the ai don't run over you like they are driving Maus from WW2 like the way GT6 did.

Man… some truly great times on PGR2! First game I ever really seriously got into online racing with (after the MotoGP Demo on the Xbox live beta. .. MotoGP was incredible but that’s beside the point)

FM2023 has so much details, barriers and trees look amazing, new camera system, watching all the others and they look so boring to race. Its just a shame that the gameplay is more arcade...
