I’m wrapping a ‘18 fatbob rn, the tank & rear fender I had to do in sections (sides, front & back for rear fender & side panels & thankfully got the top & front to work in 1 stretch) Also did you remove the seat nuts that sit in the fender itself if you wrapped the fender? Just curious if I did for no reason but there was a lot of building between the paint & nut holder so glad I did nevertheless. The fender is a lil jacked up so it’s not the cleanest & I’m picky and running out of vinyl 😂🤝🏼
He is correct wrap it in sections for the tank. Use the knifeless tape figure out the lining of it so it doesn't look unnatural and then do another layer of tape this time on the vinyl. Next you'll overlap the next section of vinyl pull the tape so you can get another straight line. Do that until your entire tank is wrapped. Hopefully this makes sense
Ya know what? I had this exact bike.. for 2 reasons, One…. I hadn’t ridden in over 30 years and I wanted to get back on and ride , I thought a smaller bike was appropriate because I could manhandle it if needed and I wanted to relearn riding technique, especially slow moving riding.. like under 20 mph and turns etc.. the second reason was, , I think it it’s a great looking bike…. It is…... well, in less than 600 miles, I realized I made a mistake buying the small bike.. so I got a street Bob.. it was the smartest thing ever.. I high;y recommend anyone starting to ride just get a street Bob… It handles so much better.. it’s so much smoother faster … it’s superior in every way.. plus it’s great on the freeway
Awesome work very talented just curious I ordered vvivid wrap on amozon an a heat gun trying to wrap my heritage softail Its my first time and I'm not sure how to use knife less tape and the seal tape what kind should I get and do you think I can wrap the tank without pulling it off
Hey so me personally, I am not a fan of vivid. Its a l little more difficult to work with and does not have the stretch I like in it but with patience you will master it. As far as knifeless tape, you find the points you want to have a sold line and put it across the area. Leave enough off of the edging points so that you can peel it through. I would recommend 3M, I get it off amazon. You absolutely can wrap the tank without peeling it off.
Maybe I missed it... but, what company is the vinyl from? And what's the color called? I ABSOLUTELY love it! I've got a Softail Slim I'm looking to revamp and you've pretty much sold me on what I want to do with her! Great job! Thanks for sharing!
My right brake foot is smokin hot just from watching the video lol. Ive got a tank issue a wrap might be a decent answer on my SG. Pretty cool color. The thing about it, at least if you get a dent you could repair it. Nothing better than a mystic mustang cobra with a green door ding on a purple door lol.
Peace,, just found your Channel,,, I'll shout you out to all my peoples,,!!!! Keep doing what you doing,, 2021 Street glide special,, blacked out,,!!!!
I have a question. I'm rebuilding a 1990 Harley Heritage. Going to black it all out. When it comes to the tank and fenders. The rear fender has been sanded and it's mostly just bare metal and a little filler. Does wrap need a paint base or can you wrap bare metal?
I spilled some on mine and it’s still intact. It could be damaging if it’s excessive I’m sure but when you do the tank, make sure you heat and stretch but not over stretch cause the curves on the tank are a little more tricky.
Looks really nice, I was looking at getting that same color. But I'm leaning towards at Dark Matte Royal Blue ? I'm still trying to decide. You did an amazing job, Looks great 👍
Hey girls what happened to talking us through the tank? It looked a bitch fair play, I see you done it in 3 parts after yes? Good work, I got to do the Mrs Sportster so nice getting some tips.
Good start to your job. By NO means am I a pro, but I know a couple 👍... I've been following "CK Wraps" here on UA-cam for a several years and he is AMAZING. It help me step my game up a MILLION percent in a short time. I've humbled myself ever since I've put my "artwork services" out for purchase. In saying that, if I know someone has a technique or skill I need to improve on or learn, I take the criticism, hopefully positive, to heart, cause most of the time, you have to pay for help and they give you a pointer or two that helps you out, for FREE... I'm all about some free advice from a pro. So check CK out and I promise you it'll help ya..... So my little "two cents" of advice is, when you tuck the vinyl around the corners, unless you just wanna use it, there's no need for any "tape." Once you get it tucked around, use your heart gun and "lock your vinyl in." Just heat it up around the corners and that shit is there till YOU decide to remove it.... Keep moving forward. 🤘
It's awesome you're applying yourself to the task . You go girl. Looks awesome.
I like how you did the tank
thank you
I just need help wrapping the tank I didn't remove my back and front piece for mine . The tank is a beast

@@Zephyr9r you're correct. ITs better to take the bolts off for a cleaner look and longer life span of the wrap.
@@Thevoicebehindthehelmet where are you at so i can pay you to do the tank lol
Nothing is ever easy. You showed a lot of patience. It really turned out looking great. I’m going to give it a try myself. Thanks.

Avery is very versatile and user friendly by far my favorite vinyl to use
Witch vinyl use matte or onther let me name pls thx
Can you use soapy water to help with the application?
I just bought a classic 81 Suzuki GS650G with a sh*t ton of chrome. I'm pretty sure i have a nightmare ahead of me. hahahaha
How difficult do u think to wrap a roadglide special?
The curvature is what makes it difficult but if you have the patience you can do it ! I’m gonna wrap another Harley soon !!

It doesn't need a paint base but for better results just give it a coating or prime it. If its smooth with no ridgidness to it, you will be fine.
@@Thevoicebehindthehelmet cool, I’ll prime them. Thank you for the reply.
Any video on the rivet part?
How much do you charge to do this
It looks really good! how does it look a year later? any problems with the weather?
Still looks exactly the same. Can post some updates. I’ve got a new job so haven’t been on here as much
Do you know how many feet you used up to wrap the parts?
Yes I used it for 5x5 I ordered 2 rolls with extra left. The more you order, the better.
Nice video! Im thinking of doing my tank but i wonder, how does the vinyl react if you spill gasoline?
I spilled some on mine and it’s still intact. It could be damaging if it’s excessive I’m sure but when you do the tank, make sure you heat and stretch but not over stretch cause the curves on the tank are a little more tricky.

@@Thevoicebehindthehelmet I gotta study the process more, You threw me on the seamless tape and filler tape. I didn't know so much was involved.
Would love to know what brand / color wrap that is.
Its Avery Dennison Avery Dennison SW900 Satin Lightning Ridge Vinyl Wrap
Nice! But I don't think I have the patience to do this myself.
That’s amazing! Any issues with heat and wear over these few months?
So far none. They have a life cycle of 3-7 years
Just an update it’s been over a year and the bike is still holding up strong !
What size wrap did you buy?
Just depends I go for 6x5 or 7x5 2 rolls. If you're inexperienced, you will mess up
How much time did this take?
Oh I see now wow!
4 days lol
Great video you showed everyone absolutely nothing 👍
This is the color I want mine..I have the exact bike. Want to help me??
