I watch a lot of your videos. Hats off to your boys. Great camera work and editing. Very good.
Just played Blue, Red and Black this week with this mentality and ended up making 8 birdies on the Black course! Most birdies I’ve ever made in a round.
Another video that will help me!! Keep them coming!! Thanks
MSG, that's where I'm from. It's amazing to see what that lace has become. I used to hunt and fish out there long before I knew anything about golf. Now I'm all about golf. Hope you got a chance to visit Ft Meade while you were there.
What an amazing resort. We go every year to Streamsong because i live in central Florida. The greens on the Black course are huge and difficult. You have a great Job Matt! Enjoying the excellent content.
I like the focus of this video. Too many times do we get caught up in a bad shot we had, so we start to spiral down and not think about how we can improve our decisions in the moment. I know my dad has a lot of those issues since he constantly hits popups with his driver and lets it get to him a little much. Golf is a mental game first and foremost
MSG I would pay to play with guys with your positive and refreshing attitude. Come up to Boston golfs on me…
MSG, what you are doing is a phrase that I coined SMOLF, which is a combo of smart and golf. I use it every time I play and it for sure lowers my scores. May you hit nothing but fairways and greens. Feel free to use that word for now, since I have not gotten back my trademark status yet :)
I like your statements here. To me a bad decision is hitting the wrong club very good and getting into a bad spot with difficult to no recovery. . A good decision is hitting the right club, but even if hit incorrectly still leaves you in a good position to recover. Its always about recover when in trouble.. but if you never get into trouble the recovery is easier.
Great video. Well done. I did notice from my opinion. You started swinging faster on the last few holes. Just curious.?
Welcome to my backyard course that I rarely play Matt! I’m new to your channel but I have found your tips to be so on point for my game! Keep it up!!🙏
Backyard course? It’s in the middle of nowhere
great score MrShortGame
MSG has those Phil Mickelson calves! Great advice on making one good decision after another. No matter the outcome. That can change a round of golf for someone having a bad day. Thanks!
amazing place!
What club set did you use? I really like how you did it last video were u gave a quick run down on what was in bag. Thanks
T100s irons Paradym metals.
@@MrShortGame are they the ones mobile club maker fixed for you? How do they feel now?
Great content!
Reclaimed phosphate strip mine, nice.
Nice Piedmont Driving Club putter HC 👀 Favorite course in ATL
Great content and approach to take with you to the course
We need a “good decisions” comment counter in the right hand corner of the screen; Mr Short Game is the BOMB
dang man, dream courses for me. someday i will drive up there
Wow, what an incredible round! Course looks pristine as well 👌
Will be playing the Red course in 2 weeks! Whattaresort!
My decision making is my Achilles' heel. Just this past weekend, I decided to hit a 60* instead of my 56*. I'm absolutely no good at my 60* and as a result, came up well short, and ended up in the bunker. I then hit a bad bunker shot, didn't get out, then when I did get out, left myself a long ass putt and 3-putted the hole. That ONE bad decision added 4 shots to the hole. So dumb.
What makes you hit the 60*? I typically don’t have bad decision making with clubs but I struggle with the strategy of golf and planning out where and how to attack and my swing is trash too.
But I never think hmm my 60* is trash let’s see if that’ll change today with no practice on it 😂😂
@@tactful_colt8536 - it was that awkward 60-80 yd range. my 56* is a 100-120 yd club, and whenever I shorten my backswing, I tend to just shank the ball. So I decided to try the 60* because I could do a fuller swing. Unfortunately, I scooped it so it went very high and not very far. I'm not a pro, I play once or twice on a weekend. If you're able to play/practice more than that, i'm very proud of you.
great eagle
My best golf decision was doing kickboxing. Golf makes me more mad than any other thing.
what happened with the PXG putter?
The Mayor's a class act. ⛳
Got a question on decision making. If you are noticing a trend, like you aren’t able to cut/fade the ball and you are drawing it instead, is it a good decision to play the draw? Or is a better decision to keep trying to hit a fade?
Exactly what was done outside of the norm regarding “good decisions”? Looked like a pretty typical round to me.
“Uphill, inside right, all about making good decisions”, I mean normally would you not read the green?
Man I forgot about 18. I hit the greatest 5 wood of my life as the 2nd into that hole. Looked like it might fly into the hole. Caught the very top of the lip of the bunker and plugged. Had to take an unplayable 😅
If you're not from the Tampa area, the Cuban sandwich is a real treat. Definitely get one, hot pressed.
I hit the longest drive of my life on #4 at Black. I hit it up the right fairway and just nutted it high with no spin downwind. The caddie said I had over 400 to the hazard. I was just short of it. I normally hit it about 275 total. Had about 155 so somewhere around 420. Missed it left, chipped up and 2 putted for par 😂.
When you said “gave it all my 155 has to offer” at 20:51 did you mean ball speed?
Went to a Chiropractor for the first time. The next day, I went to the PGA Store to practice on their simulator, as I usually do every morning for an hour or so. My swing just disappeared. Now have a fade instead of a draw, super bad contact, hitting every shot thin, balls are flying 7-10 yards shorter than the day before the adjustment. She told me my right side hip was out of alignment & crooked, right leg was 3 inches shorter than the left. I cannot fix it. Every shot is nothing like normal. Everything ive tried to compensate for & fix just isnt working. Thats where im at. This was last week. Played one game after & it was a disaster. Then my trip to Harbortown came up & I shot 90. I expecting to shoot 80-82.
I feel deflated & i may just quit playing golf. I cant fix whats wrong.
Very easy with caddy in tow
The blue course is better!
I really liked this concept. I will apply it to my game. However, (always a but lol) you say you made no bad decisions. But you made a basic bad decision. You decided to play a course that was 95% sand trap and 5% playing area. hahaha
Yep - got to agree. That isn't a particularly picturesque course. Maybe its better in person.
Have you retired the PXG set?
It's really getting old where almost EVERY UA-camr starts some so-called series (in order to get more viewers), then have about 2 videos and suddenly it disappears and is never heard from again. I hope this one from Mr. Short Game is different. It could be really good if it really is going to be a series.
Yeah break 69 baby e
I actually really liked this from MSG he’s seems like such a genuine guy and I want to take this mentality out into the field. Don’t trip on these guys keep it up !!
you sure dress well. you always got that going on par.
matt Did you really cure your root canal with coconut oil pulling?
Yes
Honestly I didn’t see how this video enlightens anyone on decision making that they wouldn’t do every round. Most golfers know the risk of playing over corners and toward flags. Streamsong is a super wide open, no tree waste land where you can flail at the ball and hot from waste areas.
It'll lower your score but wont let you go low. *I wish Lou/Scott would add to their oversimplified decisions.
Where are the PXG’s!?!?!
They might as well call this the oasis course with the amount of sand to grass ratio 😭
How is your pro thing going?!
What? Stream song? Monday qualifiers, Matt. Monday qualifiers. Shake off the nerves and get in the game. Stream Song? Dodge City, OK? Senior Tour. Two words. Simple. Cloaking a paid advertisement as course management is a stretch. SENIOR TOUR.
Why does it seem like you’ve started to watch anime with all these animations
Uhh, that putter gotta go. The sound is distracting and you don’t look comfortable with it.
That hat 🧢 microphone is weird 🫠
Why do you always look confused in the video thumbnails?
Hahaha what tee boxes did you play. Driver wedge on almost every hole.
