Great explanation of this app. A must have for anyone making cross country trips. I got it a couple years ago when I was making trips from Colorado to Pennsylvania and back in December. A must have travel planning tool. Get the upgraded version.
We don't travel at the speed limit when hauling our RV so we reduced it from 1 to .8. Last year, the maker of this app added their own video on the apps platform and added a lot of great features. If you download the app, you can watch the video and see all the new features.
Little late to the party but I’m very interested in how easy you can plot a route on this app that will be rig friendly like say RV Trip Planner? I see you can plot based on average travel speed, but what about roads you can safely drive in a tall or long rig?
I just used this on a trip from Michigan to Texas. There have been a ton of updates since this video was recorded. It is not an app that allows you to choose the roads you plan to travel. It is designed to see the weather. You can put in many waypoints to customize the route and plan a few days out; however, I use RV Trip Wizard for my route planning.
I just got this app and the paid version. I'm trying to figure out how to compare different routes and I can't get the different routes to show up on the map any assistance is appreciated
When searching, you can click compare routes. You’ll see 3 options and when you click on each one, you’ll get the weather data. I just used that feature for our last trip and it worked smoothly.
Mary, When we recorded the video the difference was in how many days ahead and how many miles you could forecast. That may have changed since then however if you’re trying to look at a local weather forecast a weather app such as “The Weather Channel” is best since the Drive Weather app is designed for giving you the weather along a particular route. -Steve
@@marykrigbaum9021 I’m not sure what’s going on with that, it’s supposed to pull the data from the National Weather Service which all meteorologist and apps use.
.8 just means you are going slower than the speed limit (1). We drive at 65mph when we travel with our RV and found that that equals about .8 on the app.
If you saw Macro trucks, they are our crew. Steve arrived in North Caroline last night assisting with the fuel shortage hauling 1203 gas. There are trucks dispatched to multiple states.

Very handy! Thank you for this info, looking forward to using it 👏🏼⛈☔️
You’re welcome. It’s very useful, safe travels Leanne!
Good explanation of this app but a little fast for me. How did you calculate your driving speed to come up with .8?

Keep the videos coming Steve, I just down loaded it and will have to check out the better version
Thank You from MI
Any feedback?
@@dval1059 it's pretty good we don't travel big distance where I think it would be better used.

What's the difference between the 2 versions? I can't get the free version to even show inclement weather in my area.

In the free version it doesn't even have my town? I didn't want to upgrade until I knew if it had my town in the paid version?

coming from dispatcher side, when you did the fats and slower speed bar and you put 0.8 what does that mean i want to watch this for my drivers

No fee app on iphone
There was a free version when we made this video.
It’s only for US location and not for Canada
That’s good to know.
Are you all driving gas tanker trucks in south Carolina? I passed 3 of the emergency gasoline trucks today
