Picking up my rescue baby today! I’m so excited! So glad i found your videos you are so knowledgeable!
I gut load the meal worms with chia seeds (omega 3s), oatmeal and fruits and veggies. My dragon perks up immediately. and the worms are happy. I also feed Him wax and horn worms.
lifeisbetterwithJesus where do you get your horn worms from ??
Hi. I would get my horn worms from Pets mart if they were available, you can also order them from Amazon by reputable breeders. 🙂
lifeisbetterwithJesus thank you !!
sorry to be uh, THAT person if ya know what i mean😂 but meal worms are very fatty and have hard shells and can actually cause impaction
@@sam-ub7mw I feed my dragon mealworms all the time

I was told to give kale. Also had no idea about all the safe flowers!! Thanks so much
Holy, great video clip, I feel like I am a expert now listening to you.
as someone who has had a bearded dragon for quit some time yes it still helpful to watch this video again keep it up! :)
I love Dude's patterning 😍
Adrianna Dragon lmao patterns*
The best thing about a diet like this is that, if you have the opportunity, you can plan and grow a big amount their food yourself. And they're so small so they wont eat you out of the house =)
I can’t wait to own a beardie 😍 Dude is perfect ♥️
I got my first bearded dragon today, this was super helpful on what to get. I’m doin all the reading n such I need to as well. Been wanting a bearded dragon for a long time lol

This video is not even close to enough research.
Omg you helped me soooo Mach my birdies dragon was not so well but now I know what to do thanks soooo Mach!!!!!💋💋💋
I just rescued a year and a half year old beardie. He’s stunted but has a good appetite. He never had aUVB and we’re taking him to the vet on Monday to make sure he CAN be healthy. He was housed in a ten gal and never had crickets or worms before either.
Trust me! I’m not trying to be rude! But a bearded dragon should be in at least a 40 gallon terrarium.
Thank you for your Tips on how to keep them healthy thank you. Just got two babies
That cricket is tuff landing on dude like that 😂 I be so scared if mine don’t eat all them in a short time because of this and I know they’ll eat their eyes out
I’ve been so fortunate that my dragons have always *loved* salad. They were the first reptile I kept outside of an already established tortoise and I was terrified of messing everything up. Oddly, while they would eat greens, my little boy was on a veritable hunger strike with bugs for about the first six months o had him he literally would eat like 2 crickets or 1 dubia a week, if I was lucky. Now he shovels it in hand over fist.
Lindsay Makowski Awww that’s perfect! 💕
"make sure to give them dark leafy greens" also her "avoid kale" Lmfao
Dude is the coolest love the videos
Michael Maimone Thank you!!! 💕💕💕
I really need to start watching your videos more its going to help me get mine as bigger when i start feeding him this
This video is so helpful! Thank you so much! I have one question, how many times a day do you feed adults? And also, how many times a day do you feed a baby beardie? I really want to get a bearded dragon and want to make sure I feed mine properly and care for mine properly.
6:15 he's chillin, look at his little arm 😂
This video was wonderful! I've been making notes about diet for bearded dragons but you're video includes all the information I've gotten from like a dozens of other videos. Thank u!
Hi can I feed my bearded dragon just veggies and greens but no insects or bugs pls answer I will appreciate it alot.

@@youreinvalid8493 it’s been three years
@@parkerm2752 I can see that.
@@youreinvalid8493 Ok, well thanks!
What a great video.
I rehomed my beardie two weeks ago and he's being such a pickle when I expose him to new foods. He was raised on mealworms and that's about it. All I can get him to eat is dark kale, mealworms, crickets and hornworms, and he's partial to wax worms. I want to try dubia roaches soon ! He kind of likes blueberries, zucchini, and peas- but only the rehydrated ones from the pellet food XD
That BD is absolutely massive! WHAT A CHONK!
Thank you for this. I'm trying to get my first bearded dragon
Please do a veiled chameleon meal guide!
well covered thanx !
I'm getting a bearded dragon very soon and this helped me ❤❤
Rya Grace Awww that’s so great to hear! Good luck with your little one 💕
That was so helpful
I hope you dont mind but I tagged you in a post on instagram. Its a quick reference guide that sums up what you said in this video, I found it a life saver when I found it.
ReptileRoger Thank you! I’ll check it out!
I just got a beared dragon and hes going to be a big boy. Hes only like 6 months old or around that.
Hi Tricia. Re-watching your beardie care videos, as I'm going to be fostering a beardie soon. Though I've never owned one myself, I've watched tons of videos from you and other reputable reptile youtubers and feel confident I can give a good temporary home... if I don't end up keeping him for myself. 😁
Is your Etsy store still active? I noticed it's completely empty. I know the past year has been tough on you. So totally understand if you decided not to anymore. But just wondering.
Thank you! Very helpfull
Can i get a list of all the ingredients you put in the salads? I plan on getting a beardy soon and i wanna give it as much love and care as i can
Thank you thank you thank you!
Amazing video alot of info love it, do one of blue tongues
xotic marvel reptiles Thank you! I’m planning to do blue tongues and chameleons!
@@reptiliangarden I can't wait even my girl love your info
Just watching this now, my beardy Spike is a year old and he was abused when he was younger. Prior to me getting him he wasn’t receiving food and water and even the correct lighting. I am a first time owner and mostly feed him giant mealworms. Thank you for the help!
They're called superworms and they're not a good staple food, meaning that shouldn't be what you mostly feed him. He is over a year, so his diet should be mostly green and vegetables. Superworms are very fatty and their exoskeleton can cause impaction if fed in large amounts. Dubai Roaches, gut loaded crickets or horn worms are better option.
🐨🐍🐊 hi . good info.I put my beardy .blue tongue. shingleback. out in the sun every day. with food. water and tree bark for shelter. they know the routine. if getting hot bring them in..keep well all .Keith Australia
Loved this video! I did notice you mentioned something throughout the video and wanted to let you know. Botanically, tomato, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, and pumpkin etc. are actually fruits! (If it has seeds, it’s a fruit. If it had no seeds, it’s a vegetable!) I think when it comes to fruit you just want to avoid giving your beardie too much citrusy fruits.
Amber Garvey What?! I knew tomato’s were technically fruit, but I always forget. I didn’t know about the others! My mind is blown! Lmao
Don’t forget string beans, edamame, fava beans, green beans and [ Insert fruit that is called a vegetable sometimes]
Great learning video dude is a healthy lizard one of my dream pets 🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎
Well, just found out the stuff I have been giving mine have been bad... (romance lettuce and spinach has been a common one I used) so I’ll
Have to swap them
So I just watching the video right above this one from Elli's reptiles and they gave much different info, staples are the same for greens same with things that you shouldn't feed them but the other then that the feeding times, suppliments and bug info are totally different. This is why it's so hard to get proper info on your animals, both dragons are healthy but owners have much different ways of feeding them
I rescued my beardie almost 5 months ago and his doing so much better now but he is so spoiled that he won’t eat if I don’t hand feed him
My 6 month old female is not a fan of any fruits so far. She loves greens and insects though.
I love bearded dragons but new Caledonia stole my heart.
I have given Moxer every food you mentioned, but he only eats meal worms and baby arugula. I've explained it to several people and he is almost a year now. He doesn't like red colors and he wont eat fruit at all. I sprinkle calcium on everything he does eat. I've spent a lot of money on food, only to throw it all away.
I will be trying your recommended diet foods for him.
Can list out all the greens can give to bearded dragon?
I heard carrots are (if i remember correctly) not too great for them. Some people say it makes them throw up or get backed up from them. They said something else but i forgot, so now i am a bit confused.
Most fruits are high in acidity. Too much fruit can cause gut problems. My bearded loves fruit (literally anything sweet he'll eat) but I learned quick it needs to be a treat/rarely fed and nothing more. He got sick, not because he ate the wrong thing, I just fed him too much fruit thinking it was good for him (diarrhea, constipation, effecting his shedding, you name it. He didn't have fun for about a month). Having a real plant that grows, that your lizard can munch on whenever, is never a bad decision. Having a real plant that they can eat whenever was a life changer. It doesn't have to be huge and you can get leafy greens that grow fast and low maintenance fairly easy. My beardy doesn't have the best enclosure (hopefully will change soon) but just having a potted green plant in the enclosure helped a bunch. He's transitioning from very small to a young adult. He is still under 1 year, so lots of bugs still, but we are transitioning to more greens. Have a source of greens for them 24/7. Helps with hydration, gets them more used to veggies, greens, and fruits.
My bearded dragon loved the cucumber and he is small and he is an adult
Yay! I love Apples too!
Thank you i just baught a year old dragon hes realy skinny he had realy bad owners i now some stuff but this is a perfect diet
So In looking forward videos to do research on what bearded dragons eat the person tells me to do research on what they can eat, helpful springs to mind
I’m doing my research for my future bearded dragon and I have a question: Is this a good diet for babies? If not then what is?
Look at about 50 seconds into the video, she mentions how at a young age they require more protein (insects) than the vegetables/salad. Young bearded dragons can eat all the same things but require a lot smaller sized insects as well as being fed them more.
Stilaanimallover Thank you!
•Julia• Morais• it’s alright, I hope I helped you out. Make sure you also have a UVB strip light for a ‘desert’ reptile (read the package to see how long it will last and take note of the date you’ll need a new one) and also a heat lamp with a cage to cover it if it’s in the enclosure and a thermostat to regulate the heat.
Stilaanimallover Thanks for the tips! I already know this from having leopard geckos and a corn snake, but either way this will be helpful for other people!
Beardies seem to be like a dog ,so very smart!
