    To avoid any confusion...
    "The 1989 World Tour" is just the name of the tour. This performance happened in 2015, as it is stated in the description and on the video itself (0:13).
    Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

    • @LukeSpaceA
      @LukeSpaceA 2 роки тому +13

      and Taylor named her album "1989" because it symbolized two things about the album's direction:
      1. That the music in the album is inspired by 80's synth-pop
      2. And that this is her first album to be promoted as a pop album. (Her previous album, Red, can be interpreted as pop but it wasn't promoted as such.) Her switch from country to pop showed a rebirth of her artistry, so that's why she used her birth year.

    This performance was absolutely incredible, and it absolutely throws sand in my crack to see people completely disinterested towards the end. That was an incredible collaboration.

      I know I'm watching this way late but I noticed that same thing! Broke my heart a little to see all of those people just standing there with a sort of confused look on their faces like, "Who is this person and why is she here?" Even if you didn't know who she was and had never heard the song before, I have no idea how you could just stand there with your arms crossed through that performance. Alanis's music has always been a call directly to your soul to let loose, break out of your cage, be emotional and free to embrace all the messy parts of ourselves society has made us believe should be hidden away. It can be incredibly healing to just let it all out, accept your flaws and give yourself permission to just be YOU.

    On of my favorite new genres is listen to Alanis Morisette “You Oughta Know” duets. Just listened to Kelly Clarkson & Pinks duets with her and now I’m about to hear Taylor’s!

    Glad she shared it & her experiences with us
    I almost said, glad ppl broke her heart, but that's giving them too much credit. She is the one who made gold out of the sh*t she had to go through. So yes, props to her and only to her!

      Here's to breaking legacies that we may have bee😮n born into but CHOSE to break and NOT pass down. During this performance and interview she provides clear testimony of Choosing to change regardless of which road it might take her down; in-as-much that she realized taking time off was essential to do itt right shows her "secret person of the heart" as do all of her comments. 👍🏿

    I’m not admittedly a huge fan of Taylor’s music (and yep, have seen her live, great performer), but I just love what she’s done for female fuelled music in general or poor treatment towards women in music, she’s a queen! And here she is introducing some of her fans who wouldn’t have known of the queens that came before her. She’s got so much fire in her veins, I love it. AlanisxTaylor ❤

    I commend Taylor for honoring her superior songwriting predecessors like Alanis. She should also give thanks to the supreme inventor and still reining Queen of theatrical arenas tours…Madonna, without whom Taylor would not have the type of platform she does today.

    So brilliant, the more I learn about Taylor Swift, the more that I think she's really one of the best things that America has to offer. She's one of the most supportive woman there is in life. She's literally changing the world and the way women (who are allowed to have their own thoughts) think. She's truly a force for good for women and literally humankind. In life be more like Taylor.
